A couple million across characters - have only played sporadically for a couple of months each year the past several years, and only bothered using the clunky traders this last time back.

I am pretty spend thrift in these types of games as I learned years ago, the best way to have gold (or whatever currency) is not to impulsively spend it on frivolous stuff while selling anything more valuable to players through whatever marketplace exists in the game (in ESO, I use TTC / MM to quickly identify items worth listing versus dumping on a vendor).
I voted this but it's basically 10-20K, I had 100K last week but I decided to pick up the full Ashlander Motif, considering it looks dope as ***.

I am relatively new and there is so much I need, mats, improvements, motifs, gear, jewelry, food, potions.

There are some large sinks in game (gold and / or time as a proxy for gold) that make it difficult to accumulate any significant gold when just getting started.

My gold balance only recently started going up as previously, all my extra gold would disappear for things like unlocking inventory space (altoholic so many characters), while any items with gold value tended to get used by my characters (everything from mats to gear to motifs).

I would have plenty if I hadn't respec'd my nightblade a half dozen times until I settled for 2H axe and did solely an axe build. That was the only way I could solo the vet levels. Yeah, yeah, all the other stamblades have it so easy and can get through anything. I have several characters and a DK in vet and no problems, but I had major problems PvE with my stamblade.

3.6 mil at the moment, though I did go on a writ and mat shopping spree few days ago, so trying to make that back up. was saving up for a few more large homes before my spree.

whenever people try to claim guild trader location doesn't matter all that much, I cannot help but laugh. it matters. a lot. that I manage to make this gold, splurge, and make it back up in couple of weeks is entirely due to just how much faster EVERYTHING sells with a good trader location.

10M in bank, another 1M spread across 10 characters & probably another 10M worth of mats etc.

Not enough options on this poll, I was curious how many people actually have 100M+ (and if there are any billionaires yet), I know some who do on EU megaserver :P

I wouldn't know how to become a billionaire in this game if even working towards your first 100m was very time consuming, that would be 10x fold.

About 1.5 million banked. My secret is I hardly ever buy anything I can’t make, farm, or earn through gameplay. All my alts ‘earn’ the gold they need for upgrades & repairs. A few big ticket sales of the things I find while earning the things I need (gold materials, motifs, rare recipes) keeps adding to a bank that doesn’t get spent until I buy a house or a bunch of furnishing plans for a build. The most I have ever spent at once on non-housing was this past week, I spent about 350k on Master Writs in guild stores. Bought about a dozen writs worth about 800 vouchers. I also shop smart.

for me, it's a matter of doing daily crafting writs as faithfully as possible and on as many alts as possible - at character level 50 for 14 alts, that adds up to over 40k daily, even if they're the lowest level writs. Not spending money on housing is another thing. I'll eventually get around to it, but i'm still too busy doing cadwell's silver, which BTW is another way to get gold, because being able to zip thru quests that i've done multiple times before is also rather lucrative. First, I can click thru the dialog quickly, and also, being a stronger character than I was 1st time thru the zones, battles go much more quickly even on the delve & quest bosses. WB's are another story...i don't bother with them until I can hook up on a group that's running them in a zone...

there may be other things as well, but that's what comes to mind ATM...

I don't know how you make money doing cadwells. Some of my quest rewards are 82g. Pretty awful. I don't belong to trade guilds so I sell everything that is white that has a value. Zero value items and green through purple are broken down for mats.

I hang around the 500K mark but I spend it too. Get 500k, spend 100-200, get 500k, etc. I am trying to fill my motif library so it has taken a hit here lately. I used to wonder how people made money in this game, once you hit high CP making money is easy.
