Why Eso beats other mmos?

In your opinion what is the reason this game beats the other mmorpg games out there?

For me personally I think it's the fact with thieving and assassinating and breaking into homes and the quests with dialogue and actual decant repeatable dealies it just feels like a real open world game with the most intense role playing options to choose from

I mean, there is one. You just aren't required to buy it. Most mmos are this way nowadays.

I actually really like the simple stats and resouce system. Three stats, choose stamina or magicka.. put in enough hp not to die done. Most sets come with a combination of stats so you can't mess it up. You'll run everything on normal without having to learn every detail of the game. Basically all you have to learn is what is a rotation and why damage over time skills are important and perhaps light attack weaving and you'll be at 15-20K Dps.

Yep casual market is super important for populating your MMO. The quests are nice and relaxing, there are even a bunch of super interesting ones, plus some super memorable NPCs.

Elder scrolls is extremely strong IP, with deep and complicated lore. Which is the main reason i chose this one.

The hardest thing in this game to get your head around is guild trading.

FFXIV is appealing, but I'm not willing to spend aud 15 every month

It's the sum of many quality aspects. The subscription model, the detailed world, the lore., graphics , dungeon design, devs that care and respond to critic, the crafting, quests, music.

Morrowind and CWC really blown my mind in terms of story and world building and Tamriel feels as immersive as the single player games now.
Just listen to that gorgeous Sotha Sil dialogue. After playing so much swtor and even TSW, both known for good storyteling I can admit that Zos takes the first place.

I've been an elder scrolls fanboy since morrowind. With eso I can play in the ES world with friends, so I'm sold.

The story telling/questing and graphics are great and the last few DLC have been awesome, so I'm happy to stick around.

Coming from Runescape here, and for me, the action based combat without auto attacks is what attracted me, you are in full control of combat here. It feels very fast paced, although Morrowing took a bit of that, its still fast paced enough. :)

Despite the forum's whining the combat is pretty balanced, compared to other games. I have 4 golded toons for PvP, totally different builds, but I feel them performing quite equal. Combat is fast paced when there is no lag of course, and it needs player skills by a huge factor. So the PvP is by far the best there compared to other MMO games that I managed to try.

Of course the lore is fantastic, graphics are still good, the atmosphere is great.

But the most important factor is that ESO pricing and crapstore model is not a robbery like that can be found in every single other MMO games. Very big kudos for ZOS and Bethesda!

Sorry but you must have not met the failure in progress MMO that is GW2. Which actually rewards players greatly just showing up or losing.

ESO does have a lot of single player content for an MMORPG.

My personally reason why I think ESO beats the others. The good amount of decent quality content we have here. Also ESO rewards players who interested in improving. Also ESO's graphics are stunning to say the least. ESO also has no sort of P2W or advance market system. Plus the fact that it's set in the TES world. And the fact the other MMORPGs just completely blows far a PvP is concerned.

    Great lore and setting.
Not a generic +stat gear progression.
Builds which are more than just "put all skills on bar use the 8 in this order, repeat".
Great for pick up and play, put down when you need.

Wouldn't have even visited its website if it was not an elder scrolls game.
Just like I haven't even visited the website of any other MMO out there. Ever.

Even though it was a massive let down from what I had in mind in the beginning, especially after listening to all the weekly shoddycast podcasts and all the hype of a massive friggin elder scrolls game, in general.

But I came back after one tamriel. Tried to immerse myself in the covenant story line by shutting down parts of my brain forcefully to its dastardly MMOness.
But In the end I just couldn't do it anymore. Especially when there are many more games out there to play.

But its still elder scrolls. And I kind of like it's PvP. So I leveled up some alts for PvP. And keep returning to it once a week for that very purpose.

    ----

That said, I do genuinely hope that they make an ESO-2, with 90% focus on single player. Handing over most of the control/processing requirement to the user's PC.
Basically I want them to make an unprecedented always online, single player game with MMO like social aspects.
AND PLEASE NO OTHER PEOPLE IN MY DARN DUNGEONS! And quick respawning enemies that make you feel like an idoit who hasn't achived anything. And some actual impact of your actions on the world.

It will be a milestone in gaming and The Game Of The Decade. let alone year. With stellar popularity. And people would sub to it like they never subbed to WOW.

I actually want ZOS to takeover the control of elder scroll from Bethesda Game Studios. Their art is downright jaw dropping.
A constantly being made elder scrolls world with huge social aspects gives me wet dreams.

They can even reuse all the dialogue/content/story/quests with a little single player tweaks.
And keep a mega server on, giving an option to players to turn it into a regular MMO.

You know It will sell like nothing ever did. You know you'd love it :)

For me it's the combat system. In my opinion it's a great hybrid of classic MMO role system and modern action focused combat. A lot of games have tried it, but ESO is the only one which has done it right in my opinion.

Even after having done every dungeon and trial many times and having played for multiple thousand hours I still enjoy PvE just for the combat. That's why I can forgive this game pretty much everything and always come back at some point.

Lore is a big plus for me. It's Elder Scrolls, so a win right off the bat.
I like the customization of your character.
Being able to wear any armor or use any weapon. (Even though it's not optimal and I'd never do it in dungeons or trials, I love that you can mess around and be a mage in heavy armor that uses swords. Just for funzies. Just having that choice is amazing.)
Most classes are actually fun to play.
I love how progress on your main can help with progress on your alts.
    Shared bank space.
I mean...I'll have to stop. This list can go on and on..

A lot of stuff is account bound, which is very generous. Especially cp. No other MMO does that in my experiences. And I don’t feel nickel and dimed like in Dcuo (a true piece of crap game run by terrible people). In this game I WANT to spend and support the devs since I feel like I get my moneys worth and I want the game to thrive. If they turn greedy and try extorting money through unethical lockbox mentality, I’ll quit his game too.

Idk if this was more of a rant against Dc Universe Online or praise for eso. Lil of both I guess, lol.
