I mean, there is one. You just aren't required to buy it. Most mmos are this way nowadays.

It's Elder Scrolls.

Just like I haven't even visited the website of any other MMO out there. Ever.
Even though it was a massive let down from what I had in mind in the beginning, especially after listening to all the weekly shoddycast podcasts and all the hype of a massive friggin elder scrolls game, in general.
But I came back after one tamriel. Tried to immerse myself in the covenant story line by shutting down parts of my brain forcefully to its dastardly MMOness.
But In the end I just couldn't do it anymore. Especially when there are many more games out there to play.
But its still elder scrolls. And I kind of like it's PvP. So I leveled up some alts for PvP. And keep returning to it once a week for that very purpose.

That said, I do genuinely hope that they make an ESO-2, with 90% focus on single player. Handing over most of the control/processing requirement to the user's PC.
Basically I want them to make an unprecedented always online, single player game with MMO like social aspects.
AND PLEASE NO OTHER PEOPLE IN MY DARN DUNGEONS! And quick respawning enemies that make you feel like an idoit who hasn't achived anything. And some actual impact of your actions on the world.
It will be a milestone in gaming and The Game Of The Decade. let alone year. With stellar popularity. And people would sub to it like they never subbed to WOW.
Can't kill WOW by copying WOW.

Sorry but you must have not met the failure in progress MMO that is GW2. Which actually rewards players greatly just showing up or losing.
ESO does have a lot of single player content for an MMORPG.
My personally reason why I think ESO beats the others. The good amount of decent quality content we have here. Also ESO rewards players who interested in improving. Also ESO's graphics are stunning to say the least. ESO also has no sort of P2W or advance market system. Plus the fact that it's set in the TES world. And the fact the other MMORPGs just completely blows far a PvP is concerned.

If ffxiv was f2p I'd probably jump ship
