To be fair to ZOS the video literally listed cheat engine sites, exploit sites and gold selling sites. Whilst the intent was good it was a giant advertising video for the things ZOS doesn't want advertised. I'm not sure I know any MMO company that would allow that information to remain posted on their forums for too long.MetalHead4x4 wrote: »Hey ZOS I thought cheat engine no longer worked with ESO. The arguments could be made without naming or showing the specific sites. This has always been the tricky line we have to walk when we talk about the subject as we want (need) to keep pressure on but also can't be doing the work of those sites by advertising them.
That's true yes, but there are some who don't actively think to look but when it's shown go "ah, I should go get that". We all know it happens and we all know some players will seek it out, however advertising it's possible will only cause more people to consider it.Rohamad_Ali wrote: »To be fair to ZOS the video literally listed cheat engine sites, exploit sites and gold selling sites. It's just silly to me . As said before in this thread , people that want to find that stuff will no matter what , they just google it . Being off the forums doesn't stop anyone looking for cheats to find them . Very silly to think it ever would . ZOS needs a third party monitoring system like other games enforce for security and active GMs to ban anyone slipping through the cracks . Not worrying about forums giving somethings that are public information .

As I said, we can talk about the issues and the video was really good, it just maybe shouldn't have listed the exact sites/names and had them fill screen.
ZOS can do a lot of things to stop these issues in ESO but sadly there is some red tape or a block somewhere which keep stopping it from happening. Unless there is mass bad press or something upsets the marketing I don't see any changes happening.

CE still works, and it's still being used. Probably more widely than any of us want to believe.
I've also got a working theory that it directly impacts lag, because the servers are slower to process the altered values that the cheater's clients are passing back. Have you ever noticed how there are some players and groups that you always have skill and damage lag against, and general performance issues, even during low pop times and away from big fights? Then when you move away from them, everything returns to normal? And the same play session, you can be in a long 30v30 battle with fine performance, as long as those players are not around?
I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist (except about @wrobel hating Templars), but I strongly feel that my theory has merit.
Yeah, it seems like tagging the developers doesn't do anything anymore when it's in a thread about the cheating/ exploiting issues in the game.We hear almost nothing from ZoS unless it is a Bethseda MOD sweeping up topics. Cheating and Exploiting thread has all but died because no feedback from ZoS even if you tag there names.

Hard to say really. The fact that is behind a paywall makes it a barrier to kids - so the majority who can get past that paywall probably know better..
Its a shame the OP couldn't go into details about what kind of thing CE does - it would go a long way to addressing some of the confusion on the forums, and help the upstanding community more accurately identify potential cheaters.

If you've ever seen that screenshot Gina shared of how many notifications she has and the numbers they get daily then you'd probably realise how threads get missed.Yeah, it seems like tagging the developers doesn't do anything anymore when it's in a thread about the cheating/ exploiting issues in the game.We hear almost nothing from ZoS unless it is a Bethseda MOD sweeping up topics. They spoke about maybe doing that in the past but nothing came of it. However it's a two edged blade, where's you would be happy to see bots are being banned in numbers, it would reveal that those bots just keep coming back and people would use that as ammunition. As for CE or other exploits they have started giving us some idea of the numbers banned when they do bans.StackonClown wrote: »Yeah, it seems like tagging the developers doesn't do anything anymore when it's in a thread about the cheating/ exploiting issues in the game.We hear almost nothing from ZoS unless it is a Bethseda MOD sweeping up topics. I also remember suggesting that Zose should give us regular stats (just numbers no names!) of people that were banned and for what reason - e.g. '241 players were permabanned last month for using a 3rd party hacking tool'
But I suspect the number is zero so nothing to report!

guessing here: speedhacking (subtle increase), increase all 3 regen to ~3000, hack CP? increase mitigation, pen ?
from what i remember, as long as the increased values are below theoretical limits and also dont arouse suspicion, then it might work? so nothing like 300k health, but apart from bases stats, lots of 'minor' stats could be up for hacking ?

I dunno.. I would have expected all the stats to be held server-side in their database, not sent by the client. Wasn't a lot of the processing moved to the server some time ago to stop cheating (and causing a lot of the cyrodiil lag ever since)?

Also if they don't have much to add (like no solutions) I am not sure how willing they're going to be to comment. I mean is anyone in this thread going to be happy with any comments they make? They spoke about maybe doing that in the past but nothing came of it. I'm pretty sure that was an actual performance test.StackonClown wrote: »
I also wondered if CP could be hacked with CE and if that was the reason for the 'no CP' trial ??
