Trials are one thing but a random pug dungeon raid???? Sounds like we got some control freaks who actually only care about themselves and not others. Now if I put an x.p cake in front of the door to troll group that is kinda rude but for you to even tell me how to play my game when it does not effect ANYTHING is rude on your part. On that note this thread is only gonna make things worse meaning ya I'm gonna pull it out just to troll people now because once again don't tell me how to play my game.

May i ask for why? Just curious.
Because the pets pull agro on their own and can completely mess up controlling the battlefield and resource management for tanks.
it's annoying when for example, I am tanking a boss, keeping the agro away from my team faced towards me, a pet comes and the boss does a 180 and heads towards the pet/team
More than that, the Clanfear actually has a taunt. I'm not sure what the parameters are where it can fire, until Morrowind it could taunt Trial bosses. It might not be able to taunt dungeon bosses, I'm honestly not sure.
Actually, on last boss, Tempest Island, 'hard' mode, the boss kept acting weird and like always popping to the trader or anyone in los between trader and boss, but really fast! Like pew pew pew, like a pinball...I said finally - de spawn trader please, I am not sure but I think it's causing the boss to act weird...despawns trader and weird behaviour stopped.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Trials are one thing but a random pug dungeon raid???? It DOES affect visuals and it has been explained several times all over this thread.
Why is it so hard for some people to understand ???
Besides, I fail to understand your logic. Because one person says something in a forum that you disagree with, now you're going to do the arguably annoying thing all the time, just in case you might annoy more people and enjoy it ... ???

Affect visuals??? That is your own personal opinion and is not set in stone. If you attack the merchant then that's your bad but I have never seen a boss forget to show his q for a mechanic because a merchant was out. Where's the video proof we all want to see it?
And yes I am here to annoy control freaks i work with too many of them. Hehehehe
Use the Khajiit from the TG instead she is downright spooky.I stand by my initial post in this thread. Yes it's annoying when people leave assistants out during group combat, and yes people should put them away. But unless it's a coordinated group doing a trial for a competitive score, it's not something to get worked up about. It's inconsequential, and far better to let it go for the sake of group harmony than to throw a tantrum, quit, and put people on ignore over.
And as this thread has developed, I've come to really hope I'm on OPs ignore list. I may start leaving my banker out in dungeon pugs just to assure my spot there.

Hey Hun, see my post above....I witnessed some shady stuff lately which may or may not be due to merchant up, but that stopped when merchant was despawned.
I'm not a games programmer, so idk if random weirdity or bug, but yeah. It happened.
Hope a conclusion is reached soon.
Edited to add: There was a time when vanity pets got heals, low health shields (Resto bubble) and other weird stuff.
Again, not a games programmer so idk if this is a similar issue under certain circumstances, but the above happened, regardless.

yeah it taunts bosses, I've had it taunt a few bosses in base dungeons before.
It really messes the flow of the battle up.

I have no real evidence, but I'd never seen the boss pinballing from player to player so fast before or since, other than when that trader was up.
I don't know if it was coincidence, but it stopped as soon as trader was put away.

Well, I'm sorry but they do affect visuals because they're visually present. It's pretty much a fact, not a personal opinion.
Can't you see them ?
Aren't they running in the middle of the group of players ?
Do you really need a VIDEO ???
There's no point explaining H2O to a donkey if it's already decided that water ain't water.
On the other hand, people who argue that they want to have their assistants out during combat never explain WHY. I would like to hear at least ONE valid argument for it (besides the laziness to keybind them to have them at hand easily between fights).

Common Courtesy!
Anyone know or remember this? This is the main point.
When any of my guilds run dungeons/trials/etc., it is a given at the start that we put away vanity pets, check food, check weapons, etc.
At points during run, we stop. "Who needs a banker?" "Who needs a merchant?". We empty our bags... "Everyone done?" Ok, assistants get put up...We continue on...Simple really...
Being in a group means just that, you are working together towards a goal. To refuse a simple request from your group just to be a A**H***, well, I guess that shows your true personality. In game and out.
No, assistants and vanity pets don't affect mobs and bosses, but there is a reason you can't use them in Cyrodiil. They DO cause FPS drain, even if a little, so why not put them away except to be annoying?
Sometimes I think "Being Nice" and "Common Courtesy" are becoming as rare as Aetheric Ciphers!

Lol that's mechanic of the Boss, if anyone is standing a certain distance from her she'll swing to them with a massive hit. The one person thats too far away usually pulls her far enough away to make the rest of the group far enough away to receive the same punishment leading to the whole group getting nearly wiped in 3 seconds. To avoid it, you don't need to put your assistants away you just need to all stay nice and close.

Wow.....I am trying to see where 3 group members requests a member to put away banker, or change a skill or eat food is being a control freak. The "only one who cares about themselves" is the one who refuses just to be annoying, as you have stated you will be more of now. I don't believe you understand what being "rude" really is. Doing something just to "annoy and troll" others IS being rude.
I was trying to advocate "Common Courtesy and Being Nice" to other guildies and group members. 3 ppl asking a simple request of 1 person is NOT being a control freak.
Three times tonight I had players refuse to put their Bankers or Merchants away through the entire dungeon, even when asked. One of them was during a Vet HM pledge. You refuse to put them away, have fun looking for another Healer. Straight to Ignore List too.

@Trashkan
Here is the OP. I believe it DOES say dungeons, which ARE 4 ppl runs. So i stand by my previous post and thank you for reaffirming that YOU are the one being rude.
Again I say that if a group nicely asks a player to put away their assistant, it is common courtesy to do so.
Yes this thread was about group play, dungeons or trials, so 3 ppl asking one person or 9 ppl asking one person a request, that is not "telling them how to play" or "being control freaks.
Again you should re-evaluate your definition of what rude is.....
Have a nice day...
