"muh exploits" isn't a good answer when this "one fix" is taking longer than normal weekly resets.
There's multiple good reasons they wouldn't want to divulge the nature of the exploit, especially if it's as serious as accounts being compromised.
Yes, the argument can be made that there shouldn't be an exploit in the first place, but if they had to take the server down to mitigate anything else being done while they figure out a fix, that's probably the correct course of action.
IP bans won't work against VPN proxy and dynamic ip addresses.
Agree! Ran the gamut of calm yer tittenbooben to call a Doctor! Decided to post nothing xD

Don't be like that...I also was not here since around then, because I have people in my life who want things, like dinner, baths and all that. He's married (mentioned his wife) so he probably has also things to do.
No need to cast aspersions over someone you don't even know.

As soon as the servers come back up I'm creating a toon named Tittenbooben.
God I love this forum. It's so educational.

Not casting aspersions on him at all. I'm just wondering if ZOS's email told him not to talk about it any more (because it may just be the exploit they don't want mentioned.)
I've been and had dinner and a shower and such since then as well. I am just waiting for news on what's happening, and why.

In a case that might be as egregious as thing might be, would it be possible to contact the ISP of the individual to try and work something out?
Just curious don't know the ins and outs of how to truly ban someone would work. Even a hardware ban can be bypassed from my understanding.

between that and the RNG time to take a break for a good long while.
Can i have your stuff along with all the other butthurt people who are quitting over this? Look on the bright side, you will have more time to go outside and may be able to stave off type 2 diabetes.
Great post ! Unfortunately the whiners will hate it !
Not everyone is an apologist or grins when they smell something rotten.

Clearly we need fingerprint authenticators.

Maybe just ban router serials but not sure if that would work either cause they can just get it replaced as well, lol.
It's funny, for all the complaining you constantly see on the forums everyone sure gets antsy as soon as they can't log into the game for a few hours.

They banned me from the Forums.
...jk
I've been following their email instructions and we'll see where it goes. I've nothing else to add, really. I shared the little bit of info that I could. Anything else is just noise or information that doesn't need to be shared.
All other communication in here is just people arguing with one another and hurling insults. I've better things to do.
I'll report back the results of the investigation when all is said and done.

I think someone needs to create a chart. One that has the number of hours of downtime on one axis vs. the severity of the complaints on the other axis. You know, like going from "Thanks ZOS for fixing the game" up to "I HATE you ZOS, I quit you ***, and I demand my money back!!"

ISP won't share that with anyone but the police, and even that should require a court order. That'd be a massive breach of privacy. The only way to permaban a person would be to require personal, real-world authentication upon login for everyone-- it's not exactly practical.

Would be less of an issue, if 'a few hours' actually meant 'a few hours'.

Speaking as a guy who fixes things for a living, I can tell you that it's difficult to give an ETA before you've come up with a solution-- and even when you're in the testing phase of that solution you may uncover several other problems for which it's difficult to give an ETA. Epiphanies don't really happen on-demand. Though your frustration is warranted, our day should be refunded for subs.
Lmao. Are they really calling it an exploit? There is literally no player input involved in receiving the bugged achievement. If you beat vFH, it gives you the Unbroken Line achievement because no one at ZoS knows how to test their game properly. After that dumb*ss res bug on the carpet and the invincible bone colossus, i think everyone who beat it deserves that stupid achievement.
Speaking of those bugs, they had damn well better be fixed after this "emergency patch".

Due to the nature of the exploit, we aren't able to divulge any details. That said, you can rest assured that we will be fixing it, and any accounts found to be abusing it will be taken care of.
That reasoning is entirely counterintuitive.... If you are fixing it, than why does it matter? Also, how would I or anyone else know they are doing something "wrong"if you don't clearly state WHAT IT IS THEY ARE DOING WRONG? You people cloak rules under a grey umbrella of "exploit" yet it's up to us to figure WHAT IS AN EXPLOIT, and what's intended? Please just be transparent with us, the people majing your pay check possible... Or do you want more people dropping subscriptions on you?
Very well said! I couldn't agree more! I have been a paid subscriber since launch, and I feel more and more like a piece of garbage that is lucky to have the ability to play the game in which I PAY TO PLAY. Major issues continue for months without being fixed, but then as soon as someone "exploits" one of their own malfunctions, they take the servers down immediately. But God forbid they actually FIX something with that much conviction.
