If you're looking for gear progression systems then WoW & SWTOR are that way. --->
ESO is not about gear progression and it never has been, the trials and dungeon gears have not always been best in slot.
If you fun comes from gearing up and the grind for that then sadly ESO isn't the right game for you, as ESO tends to be more about scores and ranks at end game rather than just grinding for the gear to clear the next things.

wayyyy moreIt takes around 6 month with eso plus and passives maxed out.
I think having options allows for quite the opposite. I hardly call spending 100's or 1000's of hours repeating content for a chance at RNG, simply to have that gear change in some fashion a few patches later, meaningful use of one's time.gameshark79 wrote: »So you'd rather your time invested in the game mean nothing? I can understand this from a min/max'er point of view but perhaps you can also understand the hours and work that goes into master crafting. I bet I have spend longer getting all 9 traits than you have ever spend in trials or any dungeon.
Maybe the balance needs to be towards the top tier crafted being equivalent to the trail gear - Julianos is quite a low tier crafted set in the scheme of things.
Don't disparage crafters - it is a large part of the game to many. I'd bet more craft than ever run the very top tier content. There is absolutely no reason why we should not be able to make some of the very best gear in the game - period.
That's exactly it, and eloquently put...ESO end-game PvE is less about progressing to completion and more about progressing to mastery. Most people don't care what gear or class is BiS.
I have all 9 traits too, but 99.99% of the time that it took was spent doing something else while waiting.I bet I have spend longer getting all 9 traits than you have ever spend in trials or any dungeon.

Here is the biggest difference between obtaining crafted vs. drop gear. Eve with nirn you can farm for about 30 minutes and basically guarantee a drop. Once that is done you can basically be absent from the game once you set your research, while those that farm for drop gear continue to farm. Which sounds likemore work?

No MMO player that I know of has ever said, let's just make the best gear and go beat the latest raid and be done until the next. It's always do the latest gear to get the latest gear to prepare for the next.

With your juvenile tone, I'm pretty sure I'm the one who should be calling you "kiddo". Esp. if the 1991 in your username is your birth year.
Hate to break it to you but 91 kids are 26 years old now
Unless that's what kiddo age is nowadays

I want to run the content for fun, not bore myself grinding the same thing over and over for gear.

The 2-4 bonuses are good but the 5 piece is not all that great. If anything a monster set + 5 juli and 4 mothers sorrow might be ok but even then 5 Juli 3 willpower and a vma and dsa staff seems like it would do better.
That said, I agree with the point of the thread.
Right now BIS on stamina is 5 TFS 5 Hundings and Velidreth. Velidreth and TFS I agree with but I feel like war machine (or at least vicious ophidian) should perform better than Hundings. Hell they lowered the drop rate for VO in normal trials even though Hundings is better anyway (LOLOL).
Hundings (and Juli and other crafted gear) should be good enough to get you into dungeons and be good at overland stuff. After that gear quality should be proportional to the difficulty of the content you get it from. Crafted gear should get you into dungeons. Dungeon gear should get you into trials. Tier 1 trial gear should be good enough to enable you to do tier 2 trials, rinse and repeat. You should also get the best pvp gear from ...wait for it...PVP.
I'm glad jewelry isn't craftable. If it was people would have even less of a reason to go do trials. Unfortunately you have a bunch people asking for it because they feel like they deserve / need the best gear in the game even though they don't want to put in the effort for the best gear and don't need the best gear to do the content they want to do anyway.
TLDR you don't need all gold BIS gear to go kill world bosses and do dungeons, and I don't think Mother's Sorrow = BIS.

I've invested a lot of my time in the game crafting, why should it be less relevant?
Anyway it is a great way to buff economy

The amount of time actually actively spent researching is nothing compared to drop sets. by that notion alone
I think they should perform at least 50% better than crafted sets.

You ask hey what would be a great set for a mag whatever. Julianos. You are dedicated so you vet you character in a month and hit 160. Awesome, now you can get max out armor set. What do you get? Julianos. You are now maxed CP and are preparing for Trial clears and such. Julianos. There isn't any gear progression, no new flavors. Yes grinding sucks but really? There would be no point after 50 other than skins. Trials would be even more harder to join. ZoS killed craglorn vet trials by messing with the weekly rewards and now y'all want to kill normal trials to? Yeah you are farming gear but is everyone in your group? No one will run normal. So how can a player make that transition? It's sad where this game is going
