Crit surge best healing in the game. Sure. If you squint and twist everything fits into your picture I guess. If that's the foundation the nerf cries are based on it's no wonder these threads always end nowhere.

    Reading comprehension FTW.

"Passive' healing as a benefit which sorcs get just from doing critical damage to the target.

Basically free heals while staying offensive makes it the best 'Passive' heal in the game. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't misquote me and then proceed to act like a drama queen.

It's not different to any other HoT and the condition you have to land a crit to get the heal is impractical because most people run low crit builds in PvP. A stam user could as well just cast vigor and gets the heals guaranteed.

You sorcs really crack me up. I see it all the time. Manage to get sorcs health pool under pressure he shield stacks and skates away with streak . They then proceed to go on offensive and get health pool restored while doing so.

If you are truly getting one shot from an NB from stealth then the problem is your build and/or your gameplay not the game itself.

Damage shields, like dodge rolling mitigate all damage. However unlock dodge rolling it can actually work against every ability in the game (bleed damage being an exception). And unlike blocking, and dodge rolling damage shields continue to work even while CC'd. Yet they are the least punishing on your resources out of the 3 defense mechanics. This is incredibly unbalanced, and therefore they need to be much more expensive. Doubling the cost might actually be a balanced increase. Especially considering how much easier it is to manage resources when playing magicka in comparison to stamina.

I like how we´re conviniently ignoring heals here as far as defense mechanics go matey :joy:

And in Strider's fairy-tale world, shields also perform better than dodge rolling when there is more than one opponent...

Well that´s atleast debateable. If you´re rolling while you´re fighting 2 sorcs with lightning staffs you´re pretty [snip].
There are definetly too many attacks ignoring dodge that shouldn´t.
It´s still the better alternative in 90% of the cases.

You quoted me on Surge mechanics. Surge is a flat heal with a 1 sec CD and you have to crit to even get it. If Sorcs come back with full HP, it's because of Healing Ward or Conversion. Besides, if you can't catch a Sorc with your gap closer, you're doing it wrong.

Surge is in theory (and pve) a great heal. In practice it oftentimes heals the same amount as degeneration for me while costing more and dealing no dmg (with an 48% crit build).

It´s a bad skill for pvp.

Exactly @Derra. People probably picture old Surge before it was turned into a flat heal. That one was very good, although still tricky.
