    hmm good catch, interesting

That's probably just another scaling adjustment that's going to be made.

Pirate skeleton doesn't proc when you have igneous and reduces your healing taken. This can proc on shields and reduces movement speed in a game where many bosses require you to hold them in place. I don't see how how requiring me to not have a damage shield and getting less healing is safer?

Meh, if it starts overperforming in PvP ZOS can easily fix it by giving Protection same condition as Slayer has and make it only work on dungeons and trials monsters.

There are other sources of Major and Minor Protection, you would make a lot of abilities useless in PvP that way. Plus something like Reactive gives more mitigation than Major Protection and might even have higher up time considering Snares and CC's are so common in PvP and it stacks with Major Protection as well. But nobody ever really complained about that set.

    Minor:
    • Fighters Guild Ability: Circle of Protection+Morphs
    • Templar Restoring Light Ability: Restoring Focus (Morph of Rune Focus)
    • Nightblade Shadow Ability: Dark Cloak (Morph of Shadow Cloak)
    • Warden Winter's Embrace Ability: Ice Fortress (Morph of Frost Cloak)
    • Alchemy Potion/Poison: Protection (Nightshade, Mudcrab Chitin, Beetle Scuttle)
    • Armor Set: Vampire Cloak
    Major:
    • Nightblade Shadow Ultimate: Consuming Darkness+Morphs
    • Warden Winter's Embrace Ultimate: Sleet Storm+Morphs
    • Restoration Staff Ultimate: Light's Champion (Morph of Panacea)
    • Armor Set: Pirate Skeleton
    • Armor Set: Coward's Gear
    • Armor Set: Daedric Trickery Set

Sounds like a pat on the back for PVE tanks. A set like that in PVP would compliment those tank troll builds. Good thing they added the snare. Sounds like a good set to me.

Yep, wrong buff name. Just switch the set to Aegis instead of Protection and it will have no effect in PvP. Maybe buff Aegis a bit while we are at it to make it worthwhile.

Those set bonus values are worrisome. Higher than anything seen before, as if they're scaled above. However it also says 9/5 set pieces active, perhaps that's why?

If that is the case... 9/5 if that is something new just imagine Agility and Willpower... :0

Hmm that is a good possibility. Having it improve set bonuses would make infused much more desirable. I'd like to see many of the weapon traits re-tuned as well if that's the case.

"Reduce damage by X" set's generally aren't great for tanks due to diminishing returns. You can easily mitigate 80% with just block, heavy armor, CP, and bloodspawn, and at that point major protection is barely giving you 6% reduction. You're better off going for utility (PvE) or sustain and healing (PvP) at that point.

Please tell me that 75% movement speed bonus wont proc Reactive .
Imagine 65% dmg reduction with around 60% uptime. Axes in vAA HM can be tanked using one hand so You'll switch between blocking and when buffs proc heavy attacking to gain stamina back because You wont die with such amount of dmg reduction.

But You do realize with that change also all percentage dmg buffs would have to be changed to work in trials and dungeons only ? We're talking about minor/major berserk , incap dmg buff , empower etc.

It's basicly different version of Pirate Skeleton. You get massive slow instead small healing debuff. Also Ironclad looks to have lower uptime because 10/15 sec when pirate have 12/15 and both have same proc chance.

You can easily handle the healing debuff on pirate skeleton anywhere that has CP active. You can't really deal with a 75% movement debuff. In PvP it will only be useful for troll tanks.
