Whelp... this will be my last Crown Crate Season.

1st season - opened 45 crates got almost everything including 5 apex mounts. Extra cards left and right.
2nd season - opened 60 Crates, got one Apex mount and a couple of "good" rewards - but the drop table was saturated with 4 different hats with horns that were nearly identitcal. Extra cards at a decent rate.
This season: only opened 19 crates and got the stupid Nyx Hound in literally 15 of them. Got an extra card 1 time
I'm noticing that RNG isn't the only factor - things are obviously getting rigged now, that Nyx Hound being clearly weight to be the reward like 80%+ of the time.
I know I made my own bed, I paid the money - but I'm still salty - I wish there was a better system in place to prevent you from getting the same thing more than like 5 times. I'm not even exaggerating, I counted my Nyx Hounds... I got 15 out 19 crates. There's a clear imbalance on the RNG - not even other rewards of the same tier, just that one everytime leads me to believe that it's heavily weighted. Even something to like put 5 gems into a crate to exclude an item would be a nice touch.
I didn't even want any of the tacky Apex mounts this time around, but if I didn't have 200 crown gems from the last season I wouldn't have even extracted enough to make it worthwhile.
At the very least out of my combined gems I got; Breton hero + Senche + Cub (that's it since the payout on gems is awful in itself).
I would actually advise against buying this season, something is wrong with the drop tables. Each season has become progressively worse. Feel free to bathe me in salt.
Please refrain from the "well you bought it' comments because I'm well aware this was a choice to bend over and be rammed.

but the conversion rate on potions, food, gems etc was AWFUL. Barely made 100 gems from this, only able to buy a few things I want with the 75 gems left over from last season. Usually I'd buy a 2nd or 3rd set of 15, but not going to this time. The conversion rate is so bad it would cost more than I'm willing to pay for the statue of Clavicus Vile, the Velothi guar and some new eyeshadow.
Didn't get the nix hound tho, praise Azura.

I would agree with that logic to an extent - if they made it hard to get what I want but still provided a bit of variety, I'd be more apt to buy more and they would hook me in - but in their attempts to do so, they've gone overboard and actually pushed me away from buying more.
When you get the same thing 79% (that's the math in my case anyway) of the time you aren't encouraging me to spend more, even with my addictive personality it becomes incredibly easy to shrug off any idea of buying more.Edited by lagrue on June 22, 2017 7:13PM"You must defeat me every time. All I wanted was the sweetroll lol so looks like I'll never be getting it. 900 gems and I can't even buy it sigh.2 -

They could put items in there and continuously drop the rate of return and nobody would know. They people chasing that item will give them hundreds of dollars. And more the next time and more the next time.

I'm not at all wondering why I didn't get the jackpot - also thanks for coming in and saying all the things I asked to refrain against - I did say in my post that it was my own choice. IF you also read past a grade 2 level you'd see I didn't even want the apex rewards lol... I was never seeking the jackpot.
What I was really wondering is why out of even the common rewards I got the same one 15 times, clearly an imbalance going on. If there is a problem with the drop rate give it time to be corrected . I just don't want to see anyone lose that much cash on things they didn't want .13 -
Forsakiin✭✭✭I opened 32 of them and came out with 1 apex mount, about 5 items from the tier below that I kept, and 380 crown gems which I used to buy the breton hero armour, elven hero armour, dro mathra senche and a few of the cheaper things.
So I spent £47 on 11k crowns, which got me items that would probably have a combined worth of around 15k crowns I would say. I don't really know what I'm contributing here but it worked out well for me and I got everything I wanted.3 -

I know I bought the crates, took a risk and prayed to the gods of RNG but half the crates (from my small sample) giving same reward (NH) and paltry compo is just not doing ZOS any favours - I'm put off from buying crates and I'm sure many others are or will be.
BTW; I'm not asking for sympathy or even empathy! I got other rewards and that's fine. I just think the system seems weighted to giving the NH reward and the 5 gem compo is not adequate.

I opened crown crates for 10k and there were some rewards that I got more than just a fair amount of time (especially the Nyx Hound, but e.g. also the Dwemervamidium Mirage, which I got a total of 4 times!). It does feel like either probabilities are mixed up or intentionally worse than in prior seasons. I'm not saying that I'm stopping right now, but if it stays like that, I will soon.
As others have said - sadly this happened to other games with a lottery system, too. SWTOR is a perfect example. The lottery system used in the "crown crates" made me quit the game in the end.0 -

✭Well. I bought 3 of the large bundles the first season, 2 or 3 last season (I don't remember) and 2 this morning.
I had the best luck today out of all 3 seasons. I had multiple extra cards, like 5 pets, 4 costumes, 3 hats, and for the first time, a mount from the top tier. Granted, I wasn't all that interested in the top tier mounts, but if I was, I certainly would not have chosen a bear as my top pick. But I had not received a top tier mount before today. I also got like 5 scrolls for a reduction on research time of 1 day. Too bad I am done researching traits. That nyx hound pet, I got it in at least half of my crates. Obviously a lot of things I could not trade in that I would not use. Plus a few mimic stones, a couple XP scrolls, etc.
Have a bunch of gems, only bought the hairstyle with the red in it so far.
I remember each season had like on weird item that dropped way more often than anything else that wasn't like a consumable or something like that. I think one was an Argonian "hairdo" or something like that.
That being said.
