I just see the hounds as extra freebie gems. Also since i been buying all costumes since day one this crate will litterally just drown me in gems so i fogure this round i either get something new or an buttload of gems then buy what i want

Works for a lot of stuff, but gems can't buy the special mounts, if what you want is one of those.

I'm kind of happy that I don't really care about mounts (I've got my plain black horse, and it's nice), so I can avoid a lot of the crown store drama (omg, 4k+ mounts! apex mount drop rates! limited-time mounts! etc, etc).

On the other hand, I've got these crowns built up from ESO+, and there's little to spend them on because... I don't care about all these mounts.



(really, the only thing I'm interested in, in crown crates, is the re-release costumes. Which are generally only 16 gems. But the ones I'm waiting for weren't in these or the last crates, so it's another 3-month wait to see if they show up in the next round. Yaaaay. )


edit: something I learned opening boxes in Star Trek.... only open boxes if you're going to be happy with the mid-range prizes. Opening boxes for the Super Rare Prize is asking for disappointment. (minus-side in STO, uber-rares are under 1% drop; plus side, you can open boxes without spending $. I've gotten one rare prize in the boxes I've opened since 2012. Of course, I also got enough "gems" for several other 'rare' ships & a pile of costumes)

Did a opening on stream, got nothing but Nix hounds and consumables. Put 15+ people off buying them ever, lmao.

Right and I said that in the main post which is why I ignored him, I even asked people to refrain from those dumb comments - we all know that nobody forced anybody to buy crates - it has nothing to do with the thread at hand. But you're obviously missing the point of the thread as well, seems basic reading isn't your strong point - this isn't an issue of not getting apex mounts or not getting good things - there's an issue with the damn crates that everybody else is having too. It's like these things go over the head of some people even though it's basic english.

Chalking it down to "whining" - why don't you take a look around the forums - almost everybody is getting spammed with the Nyx Hound pet - it's drop rate is clearly busted.

they're worth 5 gems... that means for $40 spent I got 65 gems... wth am I supposed to buy with that?

they should up the gems you get from extracting purple and yellow duplicates. 33 is stupid.
I played hearthstone for a while and i recall getting legendary cards I could destroy them for enough currency to buy the one I wanted.

If they're going to make a drop for one particular item insanely large, then they deserve to have it posted online so people will be put off of buying them.

Just bought some crates against my better judgment and didn't get anything, as per usual.

However I didn't expect to, the real point of these crates is to keep extracting everything you get for gems, and then you can just buy the thing you want.

The odds are just too low. So maybe I will get that dro m'athra senche soon from the gems.

That would be the case normally - gems would be an okay thing - but the Nix Hound only converts in 5 gems... that means for $40 I basically got 75 gems - wtf am I supposed to buy with that?

The only reason I was able to buy anything is because I had over 240 ish gems from the previous season - were it not for those, I would have been triple boned.

Crown crates certainly are a gamble. I'm after the ebon dwarven senche. So far I have the dwarven wolf and dwarven horse. I have enough crown gems to buy another apex mount, but I really only want that particular one. Don't get me wrong, I was overjoyed to receive both the horse and wolf...they are both very cool. I find the crown crates seasons very interesting. I've come to the realization that it usually takes about 30-45 crates per apex mount on average, for me anyway. I only started playing the end of May, but I purchased enough crown crates to get the wild hunt bear, then I got enough crown gems to purchase the wild hunt senche : ) cannot complain, I've been in love with the Elder Scrolls World since I was about 14 years old...I am now 28, going to be 29 this month. Elder Scrolls Online is such an extensive game, and I am so happy to share this hobby with so many other people. Happy 4th of July. I hope everyone ultimately gets what they want out of this game. It is truly a wonder.
