No, I think things are OK the way they are and as long as they keep producing new content
no, I like themepark mmos much more, sandbox ones tend to by grindy and boring

out of all the theme parks i prefer EQ2's design by far. plenty of incentive to group and rewards for soloing were adequate. The tiering system was great and challenges scaled up correctly.

First of all - fixing that bug, where when I create a character 12 out of 40 or so skill lines are locked for me. Right of the bat, I create a character and can't ever try 72 active skills (each having 2 morphs). SEVENTY TWO ACTIVE SKILLS are locked RIGHT AFTER creating a character. 72 out 158 active skills in game. That's 46% of skills.

Almost a half of active skills can't be tried on a character and are locked forever right after creating a character.

Look into it, ZOS. That's not at all how it should be in a TES game.
Respeccing is easy and not particularly expensive. In practice, resetting your skills and trying out different morphs is close to being trivial.

What gets my goat is that class skills are almost always magicka, which is a big problem for stamina characters because the game isn't geared for hybrids.

Oh you can do that? Thanks, I'm new so I don't know all the tricks yet.

Where do I go to respec so I can try Shadow Cloak on my DK? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I want classic Elder Scrolls magic skill line back
Love the game but as long as there are predefined classes and no spellcrafting it will never be taken as a true ES game by critics

The three Alliance capitals have rededication shrines. The Shrine of Stendar lets you reset skills and morphs (the Shrine of Akatosh resets attributes and the Shrine of Mara is for weddings). The cost will vary depending on how many skills you have, the last time I respecced my main it cost about 15k for skills and 6300 for attributes.

Would people here say that the game might have had a successful launch if it replicated Skyrim gameplay mechanics rather than using ones more like MMOs?
Is that what it would have taken to be more of a "WoW Killer"?
If it had done something that different gameplay wise?

If it really played like an Elder Scrolls game but was online?

Should ZOS works toward making the gameplay and content more like Elder Scrolls?

Or re-phrase: Should the game aim to be more like "Elder Scrolls but Online" rather than an MMO in Elder Scrolls?

Replicating Skyrim would not have made a WoW killer. It would have annoyed the MMO crowd. On top of that, I think a lot of the design for ESO was decided before they started working on Skyrim, so Skyrim was probably too late.

In any case, two hands would have limited the MMO players a lot more than 5 slots.

I would have preferred it, though. Spell crafting would be more of a natural fit than ESO of today.
