Lock account into one alliance only.

Every time I log in Cyrodiil EU I see the map being either Red or Yellow. People just jump onto other toons and zerg NPCs. This is stupid.

Since the One Tamriel update we can all play together in PvE and that is cool. I suggest that Zos lets us create any race in any alliance we choose to play and then lock that account into this alliance. Sacrifice a bit of a profit from the Explorer Pack and improve your game.
I made two new friends since I was told to return to ESO by a guild from other games. I told the guild that I play on EP, but those two guys went and joined DC as imperials (silly as). I do PvE with them, but when it comes to PvP I just play the my other friends. I deal with it.

PvP is suffering big time in ESO but the fact that we just zerg NPCs in the map is just stupid.

Lock the accounts into one alliance. Fight for that alliance damn you.

Yea no. ZOS removed campaign locks a long time ago because of all the problems they caused. You've given no context of your server or campaign, but it sounds to me like you need incentives for players to play on underpopulated alliances in order to create some competition.

Actually the OP's solution to that problem is absolute. The only thing is, ZOs would have to sacrifice a bit of income from the Adventures Pack to make it happen. And boom these problems are solved.

Now comes the new set of problems.

If you allow players to freely choose any faction to lock their account to. What is stopping the PvDers from all getting together and deciding to stack one faction.

The other side of that problem is. ZOS puts population locks on the factions to keep them equal. 10 of your guild mates and friends choose EP. EP then becomes locked to balance the factions. So now you can nolonger play with your guild mates or friends you have been playing with for a while.

Let me tell you. When your friends all leave the game, or you can't play with them. PvP in this game becomes soo subpar you just go full time PvEer and go PvP in actually PvP supported games that gives entertaining and competitive PvP action.

People would still congregate to the winning side. What the OP wants is for people to play on the less populated side.

Don't force them against their wills. Just give them reasons to want to, and they'll do it on their own.

Just dont allow different characters in the same campaign. Doesnt matter if your home or guest, no campaign sharing between toons.

Some people gain gold to change side... Some people not play for a faction, but for GOLD. There are whole guilds 'selling for little' ...

The same guys, in past, the 'gold guys', cry in forum...so... ZOS can make a penalty system to log into another faction, such as 30 minutes or 60 minutes. That would solve. It is an acceptable 'middle ground'.

(if the gold guys not cry about, of corse).

This makes no sense with regards to the campaigns. It's as if you play on a basketball team, and, losing a match, it changes sides only to win leaving on the other side, the coach and the fans alone ... losing.

... keep as is, does not make sense!

Aigh who said anything about low population. I play on EU Standard EP and I got only one toon in this game.

If you don't find the fact that on downtimes a map is full Red (scrolls keeps resources) and then 3h later it's yellow and then it's blue keep levelling your forum stats.

All I am saying is loyalty to an Alliance. It is as simple as that. No agendas no need for anything.

Alliance loyalty.

Lock the accounts to one alliance
Let us create any race at any alliance
Make friends in that alliance and play on. So that PvP may get a bit meaningful.

16 to 20 hour faction change timer seems reasonable...at least it would work fine for me...

by about this time next week I'll have at least 3 characters per faction running around in vivec...generally I'll play each faction for about four or five days straight...

2 of the characters will be starting off at level 10 next campaign...always fun to show up in IC with a level 10 character...some enemy will simply ignore you (ran across a level 19 toon there myself today, made me smile to see them just standing out in the open reading their map

) - others will target you...it's all good...

looking forward to having 10 characters hit tier 3 rewards...thank goodness AP farming is so much simpler these days...never been that great at AP farming - but, I can remember when making 10k an hour was pretty regular, was a real grind getting them all to 100k in a 30 day period...now, 100k in a day isn't that crazy anymore for me - plus, we'll have a 2x AP bonus during the next 30 day camp...

Of course there should be a locking of accounts by faction on a campaign by campaign basis! Since OneTamriel players from all factions can enjoy each others company on 97+ percent of the worlds map. The rationalle that existed when ZOS removed the caps no longer exists. The simple fact is that faction jumping is KILLING PvP right now. Jackasses are jumping from blue tune to red, crowning an emp, then back to blue or yellow to run the map. What of those hard working folks actually LOYAL to a side...like the lore of this great game encourages? There are now even whole guilds campaign jumping to effect the outcome of campaigns they shouldn't be allowed to influence. It's pathetic and detrimental to the game we all love. Again, the former arguments against locking of campaigns has been eliminated with OneTamriel. We should be required to pick a side and play it out, for good or bad, until the campaign ends. Then, play wherever ya like for the next one! But please don't tell me that loyal players striving hard over a 30 day slugfest of a campaign should have no voice against the locust like campaign/faction jumpers distorting the outcome.

And the players who have multiple characters in different factions. Should have no word in the matter as well, right? Because your money is better then mines, right? There is only one CP campaign in the whole NA version of the game. I don't think you have any leg to stand on here in the matter of this. Sorry man, you are going to have to deal with the changes, like the rest of us will.

I agree that once you enter a campaign you are locked to that fraction only for duration, stop all the damn spying and Scroll running.

There would still be spurs sure but they would have to commit a whole account for a month on a 30 day

So you want me, who mains AD, to be locked to AD, when in reality everyone knows what was going on with Trueflame EU the last 6 months if not more. (Trueflame EU was at the time the campaign I spent most of my time on).

Due to the state of Trueflame I have mostly been playing EP on Trueflame EU, but yet you find it to be a better idea for me to be locked to my main faction, aka in this case the one that was the most cancerous.

There must be better solutions than to force us to be locked to one faction cause others like to run around and zerg empty keeps.

(I have not been active in PVP since the campaign changes etc, so I don't know the current state of the campaigns, so I have no comment to that atm).

I feel that a 3 - 6 hour faction lock would serve the purpose. It would make people decide for the short term who they are fighting for but also allow you to play with friends with a little foresight. It would eliminate the flipfloppers who faction jump whenever they get outnumbered.

A penalty time is a good idea (30 or 60 minutes to login in another faction). And yes, necessary. This 'thing' of changing factions as you change your clothes, makes no sense with the idea of a campaign. And for others, perhaps, 'friend' is synonymous with 'gold to win'

I could probably live with a 6-12 hr daily lock, but then we'd also need a total campaign lock for the final 7 days or so of a campaign. It's not right for guilds to swoop in and steal a month long campaign for their buddies on a certain faction, and this HAS happened in the past. I think it would be easier to just do a faction lock by account on a campaign by campaign basis, but could live with this. But we NEED a change and we need it ASAP or PvP is just going to die out as people continue to be frustrated by the daily chicanery presently occuring.

yup, incentive system for low pops.

Also ditch the select an alliance at creation... Alliance should only be selected when selecting a campaign (you stay locked for that campaign duration), and can be re-selected at the campaign end. All campaigns reset at the end of the campaign.

Loyalty bonuses (appearance items, loot, perks) for characters for remain in a single alliance for greater than "x" number of days.

Basically ditch the need for the EXPLORER pack, and allow friends to play together as a natural evolution of ONE TAMRIEL.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler there are some good ideas in this thread. Not sure the most extreme are going to work, but certainly the problem of whole guilds turning their coats and upsetting campaigns is real. Maybe a faction switch timer? Some combination of the above?

The fact that players can jump from faction to faction and manipulate the map shouldn't have even been added in the first place.

It's absolutely ridiculous. it wouldn't hurt anyone to lock the campaigns and make them more honorable. I can't believe this is even an issue.......

Your assumption that people have toons in multiple factions for only the darkest reasons is flawed, but even if that were true, a second copy of the game is dirt cheap. Those evil faction-floppers and the spies I keep hearing about could easily just create another account. You'd never even know.

Yes, folks can always buy another copy of the game and get around faction locking in that way. So? It's my belief that ALL accounts should be played as the owner of said account chooses. If I want to buy 3 accounts and have all 3 factions covered, it's my business. But I'd say 90+ % of the player base will happily play their 1 account, and that faction locking by account on a campaign by campaign basis makes perfect sense. And to reiterate, with 95% of the worlds map now available for all players at all times to group with each other, there's just no good reason to not lock them for Cyro. Again, this is not a perfect solution...none exists. It's just a way to mitigate skightly some of the nefarious practices occuring now in PvP land on a daily basis.

Just no lol. EP would be even more dead on PC EU Vivec than it already is. ZS/Wabba are barely keeping them relevant. If ZS weren't able to swap it'd be a complete joke of a faction and they'd probably all have moved over to Sotha Sil where they can do what AD/DC do every night/morning on Vivec.

And I couldn't give a flying *** about the map in EU. The map stopped mattering a long time ago. But playing with friends on all factions? That's important.

Give me one good reason to be loyal to any of the factions - when they all seem rotten to the core.
Alliance loyalty is dead. Rewards to make it worth caring about the map is, well, not worth it.

I play where my friends are. And I have friends across all factions - most of them even have characters on all factions.
OP, answer me this: When AD(PC/EU Vivec) got every single keep and there is literally 0 PvP to be had on AD side - how do you expect me to enjoy the game?
When, on Sotha Sil, EP got every single keep and gatecamps with high versus low population - if I would be locked to EP, where do you think I would find some PvP then?

I play on all 3 factions - I play where my friends are - I play where there's a chance to find PvP. (No, running in your alliance's 50 man blob at 10 in the morning is not considered PvP in my eyes...).

I believe that @ZOS should reset things.
That way you and your friend would start together on one Alliance, (given that they would allow us to play any race at any alliance) and fight for it. Locked in it.

That way there wouldn't be Red maps or Yellow Maps or Blue Maps.

There would be groups of friends playing for their alliance together. Some times you lose some times you win.

Now it's all about the farm as you say. Why? Because we can switch sides and be winners.

In the end all we fight is NPCs in empty castles, and kill our outnumbers enemies.

Is that PvP?
