Mine is a bit of a modernization of an old Norse name.

The real nerdy bits: I was once in the SCA and did a lot of research on names in general with a specific interest in Norse/Viking. Names used in the SCA were not the same but I used the research and knowledge during coming up with gaming names.

    Basically the name evolved:
    Sigtryggr -> Sigtryg -> Sitric -> Then I adopted a modification Sigtric

Stormproof: Vibeke - 50 EP mDragonknight | Savi Dreloth - 50 EP Magsorc | Sadi Dreloth - 50 EP Magblade | Sigtric Stormaxe - 50 EP Stamsorc | Valora Dreloth - 50 EP Magplar | Sigtric the Unbearable 50 EP Stam Warden
Scrub: Chews-on-Beavers - 50 EP DK Tank | Vera the Wild - 50 EP magicka Warden | Sigtric the Axe - 50 EP Dragonknight Crafter | Sigtric the Blade - 50 EP Lost Nightblade | Sigtric the Savage - 50 EP magicka Templar | Vibeka Shadowblade - 50 Ep Stealthy Ganky Nightblade |

I had a case of needing a name quick, and kinda pulled a Peter Griffin...

Was frantically lookin' around my room for something to name myself after, had a pair of Victoria's Secret sweatpants laying on the bed with "Royal Pink" written on the bum. Even though its pretty obscure, I wasn't the only RoyalPink, so I threw "06" on for my dog's birthday. At least its easy enough for people to address me, I like being called "Pink" for short :)

Lathenil of Sunhold told his story so well, I felt like I was there.

"I was barely more than a child when the Great Anguish fell upon us. The very air was torn asunder, leaving gaping, infected wounds that spewed daedra from the bowels of Oblivion. Many flocked to the shores, seeking escape from Dagon's murderous host - but the seas betrayed our people, raising up to smash our ships and our ports, leaving us to fates so vile and wicked that death would seem a mercy.

"The Crystal Tower stood as our last bastion of hope, in both the literal and figurative sense..."

Lathenil had a very intense presence, to put it politely, and some of his accusations of Thalmor involvement border on madness. This may be why his fervent warnings and outspoken criticisms of the Thalmor and the Aldmeri Dominion went unheeded, but history has at least partially vindicated Lathenil's claims.

Back in graduate school, I was a serious bodybuilder who always had a flattop haircut. I studied so much that my eyes were continually bloodshot (yes, it was from studying!). People told me I looked like the Terminator, red eyes and all. I decided to use Red-Eyes as an online name back in the late 80s, early 90s. As the internet expanded, I found that name taken on a lot of forums, so I converted to German with Rotaugen. Even that gets taken at times, so I added 454 for the big block engine I always wanted.

Since I got forced into retirement a few years back, I have become an author (science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, romance); it's very relaxing on the one hand, but it is also a defense mechanism to aging. A side effect of aging is that I tend to fall asleep when daydreaming, so I never get to finish my daydreams.
Writing is an excellent defense against that...
My character names (and their appearance within this game and others) tend to be key characters in my books. It is an easy way to identify with my characters (and there are no IP issues since I am the author).

About 10 years ago I updated my XBox Live name to THEDKEXPERIENCE because I happened to be listening to The Jimi Hendrix Experience at the time.

The fact that Dragon Knights are a thing that shares my real life initials (DK) is just a coincidence ... that I have to explain twice a week.

Actually between the name DK, my reckless use of invisibility potions leading to people saying, "wait, you're a nightblade?" and my sorc-like addiction to max Magicka THEDKEXPERIENCE seems to be a mystery wrapped in a riddle.

My character's name, however, is Yugot The Beam (you got the beam) for maximum death recap PVP trolling effect with Radiant Oppression.

Oh and the "1" is because I used just Tholian for the console beta forums and when the game released they made me use another email to play the game and set up another forum account and wouldn't let me use what I signed up with for the beta. Not going to lose my "hard earned" forum stars to just be Tholian. LOL

[Datamine]: Previous (future?) Aldmeri Dominion Storyline : teslore - Reddit

The Altmer call the vestige The Numinous One.

    nu·mi·nous

having a strong religious or spiritual quality; indicating or suggesting the presence of a divinity.

The refer to all of us as one individual. Sorta.. And they are aware of our ability to die and resurrect. Even going so far as to ask us to jump off a cliff. For research..

So one day if that content ever drops ill have a sweet ESO Gamer tag. Until then ill be forced to here everyone call me numerous. As if there is a bunch of me.

A young me was once compared to the after effects of smacking a post with a metal bat. "It's not the impact, it's the reverberation up your arms that rattles your brain. You're like that reverberation".

I honestly didn't even get what it meant for a really long time, I just liked it and rolled with it. It usually gets shortened to Rev, which makes people assume (completely untrue) religious associations.

Durzo Blint is a wetboy (a magic wielding assassin) in the Nightangel Trilogy....probably the best contemporary epic fantasy series there is IMO(........The Stormlight Archive being a close second). I identified with the character from the first few chapters and by the end of the last book I just wanted to read more about him. He is just a badass and may be one of the best anti-heroes ever

When i was 11 or 12 Ps3 came out. My uncle bought the ps3 on release and gave it to me. It was one of the few rare Ps3's that could play Ps2 games also.

My uncles account was bloodyninja so i wanted my own. My friends psn's name was PurpleKetchup which is where i got the idea for my own.

For some reason a 12 year old boy thought of GreenSoup. We happend to joke that it was some really spicy Soup that nobody but myself could handle, thus 2HoT.

The letters being capital was just to make it look cool. Ive stuck with the name ever since and im now 22 years old.

Its a very old og psn name. I always get compliments and to think i was 12 when i made it.

I played Destiny, and spent many hours in the crucible pvp'ing, my weapons of choice were Thorn and Fellwinters which brought me a lot of salty mail, one of the mails called me nothing but a scrub (well most mails did), but the last line was the best "infact you're not just a scrub you are a super scrub" so i changed my name to what it is now and after the name change i still used Thorn and Fellwinters but never received one more salty mail...

Sat in a dark room forever trying to think of a new online moniker to go by. My old one was created when i was a kid and it has a spelling error so i needed a new one. The announcment of ESO turned out to be a great reason to sit down and think about it.

Eventually i just devolved into making sounds and combining them into "names" until i found a combination that i liked. My original idea for the pronunciation is not how my name is pronounced by guildmates and those that read it in game/discord/twitch but i have come to accept the most common pronounciation of Key-Roo from my guildmates as the "official" pronounciation.

So before I discovered the Elder Scrolls universe, I spent several years playing a free MMO that allowed unlimited accounts and alts. At the point where I had created my first 8 characters, I noticed that their names each started with a different letter of the alphabet - A, B, C, D, E, F, M, and P. I was so tickled by the unintentional alphabetism that from then on I made a point of giving each new character a name starting with an as-yet unused letter of the alphabet.

When I got around to I, I landed on Ilsabet, which sounded to me like some kind of Nordic variant of Elizabeth. My research told me that at best it's a fairly obscure Danish name, but aside from a couple of artists and somebody's RP character, it wasn't really established. It hadn't been used by anyone in that game so I was good to go.

When I was planning characters for ESO, I decided that I wanted my main to be a young Breton archer, and Ilsabet seemed like a good fit for the culture as well as being something distinctive that wasn't likely to be taken. (Plus it's pretty and I like it.) So Ilsabet is my account name, and Ilsabet Menard (with a surname that sounds like something from my grandparents' French-Canadian heritage) is my main character.

And yes, it is highly unfortunate that ESO uses sans serif fonts that don't distinguish between the upper-case I and the lower-case l.
