Mine's not very interesting. 15+ years ago I came up with the character who is still my main in Western RPGs and was playing her in Ultima Online and got to know people under her name, which is Danielle.

Then I joined a fan forum and it seemed logical to use that name, except I'd be posting as me, not role-playing so I thought I should get my name in there too. My name is Katy, hence - Danikat.

I liked it so I stuck with it. Which is not surprising considering when I needed a different one I got as far as "I want a name that's not shared with a fictional character or a reference to anything, one that's just for me. Hey Just_Me, that will do." But I only use that on music sites.

While in college, I used to go out to Utah every year for skiing (back when a 12 pack/dozen donuts got you a lift ticket from the guys running the chairs). I was known to bring some "stuff" to Utah from California for the trip...quality stuff that Cal has that is lacking in Utah

The trips became legendary and the nickname The Legend was given to me by my new Utah friends. The 7272...just a number.

Well my Dad pasted some years ago and we never had much to do with eachother.
But I remember one day he bought Halo Combat Evolved and then I saw him take the Name Karabela...so I just adapt the name and put my birthyear to it.

It feels good to have that name in some way^^

My real name is Mardoqueo. Its already awesome, However long and really hard to say. So people started calling me Queo in other games i played. I liked it (So much better then my RL nick name). So my main toon is always Mardoqueo, Except this time around hes been turned into my Crafter...

Side note my name is a Spanish, breaks into 3 parts 2 of which come northern provenances of Spain which was heavily raided by Celtic raiders as well as vikings. Red hair is common (which I have) there. The closest meaning of my name is a Hebrew translation, as derivative of Mordecai, "He who adores the god of war".

We misquoted the movie, from some part where peasants are afraid the "Juns will come and take our daughters". The looks we got from some fathers of the girls we were going out with was a similar look of fear and hate - my buddy had this sweet orange 78 Camaro. Nothing after market, but you could hear the thing pulling in the driveway. We were the Juns and the Jos, and we have come for your daughters.

Mine's from a book, the land in the book was called Skay-Sagis. Many of the games I played at the time didn't allow special characters and I didn't really like the Sagis part, so I cut that of, but felt it was a little to short to just be Skay so I added the -aq.

If you know Steven Erikson and Ian Cameron Esslemonts Malazan Empire books you'll recognise my name, I normally adapt my character's names from known but not top tier fantasy books...

Others I just make up like my 2nd Moriko Mournblade....

Mettaricana its a purposely mispelled metallica from an old anime called b@stard heavy metal datk fantasy every character and city was a alternate yet similar name to a metal or rock band. The main city was mettaricana it just stuck with me. Alot of other characters are named after the cast
