I might feel differently if CW applied Major Breach or something like that. Am I missing something in my critique of this skill? Seems like it's intended to be a bread-and-butter staple of the melee MagBlade's repertoire, but I feel it falls short.
Then it would stack with Mark, and I'd lose reason to use my #1 stamblade-rage-inducing tool...
It could use some love, though. Definitely doesn't hold up against the likes of Surprise Attack.Peop***Note: in my testing lotus fan dmg was increased using direct dmg cp tree but concealed was not, concealed was increased dmg using the typical fire/frost/lightening/magic dmg section. Tested it just now. Concealed is amplified by Master-at-Arms.

SO much burst. xD I was hitting over 25k Assassin's Wills on buffed heavy armor targets, not from stealth, and in heavy impen myself. I was very squishy, though.Ended going back to Julianos + Spellweave for consistent crits, though, as Medusa left me with low crit chance when using Shadow.

I'm looking to rebuild my dark elf magblade for BG's only. I want to do the riposte + transmut 2x undaunted but don't have rispote yet (no drop from BGs it looks), what else could I pair with transmutation? Impen traits? What skill setup? I'd like to do a destro/resto bar setup if you could help out. War maiden is nice but the inferno staff is expensive for a set I want to "farm" riposte with.
Any suggestions on a cheaper set to pair with valkyn + transmutation until I get enough riposte? I'd rather not buy war maiden if I'm going to replace it. I've got spinners, clever alchemist (heavy and light), necropotence, plague dr, lich, amberplasm, burning spellweave, shacklebreaker etc. Could also swap out valkyn for any other undaunted set, got tons, like troll king maybe.
I guess BG isnt CP but I'll probably try to get a CP build for the times I decide to go to Vivec (cp cyrodil).
Spinner works great. It's a little more damage than Maiden, but naturally won't penetrate on shields. Necropotence is your next best bet (I'd use that). Lich is a ton of sustain if you need that. Necro is actually competitive damage with Maiden. As long as you're using shade, you won't notice much of a difference.
Use the skill setup in my last video, but consider subbing out mist form for cloak. I use mist for when a lot of people are trying to lock me down, which won't happen in BGs due to lower numbers.

so based on the video it looks like destro bar: degeneration (or structured?), swallow soul, elemental drain, merciless resolve, mass hysteria
resto bar: siphoning attacks, cloak (not mist), twisting path?, healing ward, mirror image..
so without rapid regen will troll king proc? should i swap out troll king?
what attribute setup did you use? feel like my hp might be a bit low - then witchmothers brew? or hp/magicka food?
Kena you try Rattlecage/Trolls/War Maiden yet?

Necro and Spinner are comparable to Maiden. Spinner is actually more damage assuming you aren't attacking into shields.

Yea, but I'm going to end up attacking shields at some point
and I don't like using Necro, the pet lets people know when i'm about to attack.

Why not keep your shade up 100%?

I mean, Its not a matter of not keeping it up, When I use it though it gives away my location usually.

Oh then you're cloaking around for some reason. Are you ganking or bombing with Necro? If so, that's your problem...

Hi Kena, thank you for your post ; by the way i'm intrigued by the 2H build.
Is this the gank build using Onslaugth ultimate ?
if no, can you explain to me how it works ?
No it isn't, and sure I'll be happy to. First, the bars are very specific for two different kill combos:
2h bar:
Forward Momentum
Concealed Weapon
Shadowy Disguise
Fear
Merciless/Lotus Fan
Soul Harvest/Incap
Resto:
Cripple
Shadow Image
Healing Ward
Merciless/Flex
Swallow Soul/Funnel Health/Flex
Resto ult/Soul Tether

My 2h/Resto bars look really similar to this so im glad to know i was on the right track lol. Main noticeable difference is im using Soul Tether over Soul Harvest on the front bar because without it you have no front bar siphoning ability.
Curious as to why you arent running one on your front bar. Granted, Running incap/Soul harvest makes your burst windows quicker because you dont need to generate nearly as much ultimate to fire those off as you do with Tether, but is that worth losing 8% max magicka?

No it isn't. I meant to type Soul Tether, not Harvest, and missed it. Full 2h heavy with Follow Up > Soul Tether > Assassin's Will is a great kill combo. That's what I tend to prefer on the 2h build because I have to fit in Momentum. Thank you for the observation.
The other bar variation sticks Merciless back bar and Cripple front bar, allowing the use of Incap. Fitting that Siphoning ability on your front bar is not always easy, but you should always do it. Don't worry, you were thinking along the right track.
If I want to keep Malubeth, is it best with riposte/trans or with Warmaiden/riposte or Warmaiden/trans? I feel like warmaiden/riposte but I really appreciate input on this question

Malubeth increases healing, which works best with high mitigation sets. There's no sense in building a ton of healing if you're still in one shot range.
That said, you still want to build some damage, else you'll hit like a wet noodle.
I recommend Maiden + Riposte as your base build. Riposte does mitigate more damage than Trans against all opponents except those with both high crit chance and low crit damage. In PvP, you tend to run across lower crit chance and higher crit damage opponents, so Riposte pulls ahead.
I tested Maiden versus Necro for damage, and Maiden was much higher as an Argonian without any Mages Guild max magicka bonuses of any kind. High Elves and Bretons and anyone using Inner Light or other MG abilities will get more damage out of Necro, but you'll have to test for yourselves where the breakeven is between the sets. There will be a percentage bonus to max magicka where Necro pulls ahead -- but whether it's feasibly reachable is undetermined, nor do I intend to test for it.

I've Tried this on my duel wield build. 5 pieces rattlecage on Jewlry and swords. Your better off going spinners on body instead of war maiden. I've found spinners to noticeably hit harder in pvp. The extra damage from maidens doesn't qualitatively seem to make or break sorc shields or actual shields any more than without. You could go trolls but I prefer Grothdarr or skoria over trolls since I'm a vamp for mist form and like the extra damage punch.

Was trying out War Maidens today, seems to do ok, I'll slap on Spinners on body and try it.
Though was doing 2 willpower/war/rattle
Groth might be pretty decent for extra damage.

I definitely notice Maiden/Necro's extra damage versus shields compared to Spinner, but Spinner is a bit more than those sets when not attacking shields. I was switching between Maiden and Spinner yesterday trying to decide which I prefer on my front bar. Spinner is probably better.
