Valkyn does loads of damage in no CP, but I've been unimpressed in CP. Kena is going to strain your resources too much and won't measure up to Valkyn or Grothdarr in damage. Grothdarr is an option, but I doubt it would perform better than Valkyn.

I use Valkyn exclusively in no CP, and I swap between Valkyn and Bloodspawn in CP. I don't use Pirate because I use points in Befoul for my Incap, which increases the Pirate heal debuff on myself.

It's worth noting that war maiden increases your NB healing since it all scales on magic based damage done. It will have superior healing and damage to necro, I believe.

If you wanted to run Kena, you'd need lich, but it seems like a waste to build for that, if you wanted to I'd probably do trans/lich with spell damage glyphs.

I'm wanting to run trans/maiden/troll for CP but alch/maiden looks good too

The only heal that operates based on magic damage dealt is Strife. Maiden doesn't increase the healing from Path or non-class hots like Degeneration or Mutagen.

I find 5pc Magnus to work nicely with 2pc Kena as well. I used that a ton back in IC patch. I don't know how it would sustain post-Siphoning nerfs, nor do I really care to test tbh. Valkyn is super strong. Plus I think they fixed the thing where Kena would proc while weaving Strife without actual consecutive light attacks.

I wouldn't run Maiden + Alch unless it was heavy Alch. You are heavily cloak-reliant in light armor without a defensive set like Trans or Riposte, which I hate. I have been considering trying heavy armor again to see how it functions this patch, but I would need Maiden jewelry. Eh, maybe one day.

I think I'll start with Skoria/julianos/transmutation to see if I like nb in this patch. Allready have the gear so should be playing tonight.

If I like it i'll prob try ripost and maiden but no need to waste money on BiS when I have golded julianos and don't know if this is the class I will play in morrowind.

Guys i spend about 250k gold yesterday to get my riposte tans and skoria set up. After i red @NightbladeMechanics post. And spend good time in vivec. It is literally night and day difference. I have never thought to actually spend money to gold out my gear other then the weapons. Now i am seriously considering to make every thing gold.

The difference you would feel between Maiden + Riposte and Julianos + Trans is small anyways, so you're on the right track. I hope you enjoy it!

YES it 100% does. Tested it myself with the Kena seal of approval. It's a great anti-gank set!

Spell damage glyph front bar, assorted poisons back bar. Heal over time poisons are meh. Resource restore poisons are good. Immovable poisons are op. Combining two effects is efficient, but three isn't.

As an update to this, I learned that Battlegrounds leaderboards reward gold BG set jewelry pieces!

If so, do you think witchmothers + trans (or another 2 line recovery set) is enough to sustain alone in light armor in BGs - or do you use Atro mundus or recovery/reduce cost glyphs too? Sorry for all the questions, on console so haven't had a chance to test any of this out and am trying to figure out what set-up I want to have ready for BGs (definitely gonna spend the first day farming war maiden).

This is a play style question, so builds will very between players.

First, I'm an Argonian wearing Riposte and Valkyn, both of which give a line of health. This puts my health at ~26k already. I'd say 24k would be my comfortable level for how I play, so I would recommend using prismatics to get at least that much, or more if you feel a need for your own comfort level.

Second, as an Argonian with no prismatics or stam bonuses in my gear, with Witchmother's I have less than 10k stamina. While this is functional, as you see in my latest video, it's minimally adequate and has left me unable to break free from time to time, even with Resourceful (lizard potion passive) and Leeching Strikes.

Therefore, I actually switched back to tristat food. Hello nearly 28k health and 14k stamina! With Ele Drain, Resourceful, one or two lines of regen, and the occasional heavy attack, I sustain fine. No, I do not use Atronach. I actually use the Ritual for increased healing to compound with my lizard-ness. Shadow would be the best for damage in CP, and thief in no CP. Apprentice is competitive in low damage builds. If I encounter a particularly tough opponent whom I need to beat on a lot, I do switch back to Witchmother's mid-fight. I carry both on me.

That is just me though. Non-lizards won't make those same concessions. Players who don't run Ele Drain will need way more regen (perhaps from High Elf) or Siphoning Attacks to function with tristat food. Players using Siphoning Attacks will need more stam regen from somewhere. There is a whole cascade of changes that occur within each of our own personal build adaptations, each of which is perfectly viable and ok to make per our individual preferences and circumstances. These are simply my own.

Damage wise: magblade is fine. i just switched back to the set i was using in the IC update with Vma destro/resto replaced siphioning attacks with rapid regen not as much veriety but it's alright.

I've stayed out of Cyrodiil since the update sticking solely to BGs and I've noticed that I'm able to sustain enough Stamina to break free with zero sources of Stamina or Stamina recovery except Constitution. The caveat is that if I accidentally roll (too twitchy) or block, I'll be screwed. But played perfectly I don't seem to ever run too low. I'm just not sure if this is because I'm not being CC'd once every 7 seconds or because Constitution alone is able to keep pace?

I want to do the riposte + transmut 2x undaunted but don't have rispote yet (no drop from BGs it looks), what else could I pair with transmutation? Impen traits? What skill setup? I'd like to do a destro/resto bar setup if you could help out. War maiden is nice but the inferno staff is expensive for a set I want to "farm" riposte with.

Any suggestions on a cheaper set to pair with valkyn + transmutation until I get enough riposte? I'd rather not buy war maiden if I'm going to replace it. I've got spinners, clever alchemist (heavy and light), necropotence, plague dr, lich, amberplasm, burning spellweave, shacklebreaker etc. Could also swap out valkyn for any other undaunted set, got tons, like troll king maybe.

I guess BG isnt CP but I'll probably try to get a CP build for the times I decide to go to Vivec (cp cyrodil).

Then it would stack with Mark, and I'd lose reason to use my #1 stamblade-rage-inducing tool...

It could use some love, though. Definitely doesn't hold up against the likes of Surprise Attack.

Tested it just now. Concealed is amplified by Master-at-Arms.

Plague Doctor + Necro is an awful build, and Blobs is spreading misinformation by promoting it. He tried to play that build like mine, with hots, but struggled and hasn't picked up mageblade once this patch.

Vampire Cloak was the better set to accompany Necro for shield stacking last patch. Riposte is now, but shield stacking is and always has been weaker than heals over time for defense.

Path heals for more than rapid regen, deals damage, and gives you your buff. Use it or both, but not regen alone.

Full impen all the time, even on shielding builds. You have Annulment and sometimes healing ward, and that's it. Expect to take damage to your health bar.

Can confirm this. I actually tried blobs build , plague doctor s health and tankiness is nice however riposte is waaay better.

I'll throw in a good word for Julianos + Trans. I've been using that setup in Sotha Sil (even beat @CavalryPK once with it ), and it's pretty terrific. Plus, because you can craft Julianos in whatever style you like, half the time your enemies are staggered by your fashion sense!

Spinner works great. It's a little more damage than Maiden, but naturally won't penetrate on shields. Necropotence is your next best bet (I'd use that). Lich is a ton of sustain if you need that. Necro is actually competitive damage with Maiden. As long as you're using shade, you won't notice much of a difference.

Use the skill setup in my last video, but consider subbing out mist form for cloak. I use mist for when a lot of people are trying to lock me down, which won't happen in BGs due to lower numbers.

Alright thanks I'll check out trans+necro for now. I was using this impen plague dr/necro build with destro/resto but i wasnt sure if it'd still be viable.
destro bar: swallow soul, inner light, hysteria, dampen magicka, merciless resolve eye of flame
resto bar: siphoning, crippling grasp, rapid regen, healing ward, mirror image life's champion

Would you say full impen necro? divines? infused? got all 3 ><

Plague Doctor + Necro is an awful build, and Blobs is spreading misinformation by promoting it. He tried to play that build like mine, with hots, but struggled and hasn't picked up mageblade once this patch.

Vampire Cloak was the better set to accompany Necro for shield stacking last patch. Riposte is now, but shield stacking is and always has been weaker than heals over time for defense.

Path heals for more than rapid regen, deals damage, and gives you your buff. Use it or both, but not regen alone.

Full impen all the time, even on shielding builds. You have Annulment and sometimes healing ward, and that's it. Expect to take damage to your health bar.

Can confirm this. I actually tried blobs build , plague doctor s health and tankiness is nice however riposte is waaay better.

I ran Vamp Cloak and Necro in Homestead and it was pretty nice. I just hate having to rely on shields. I also ran Necro + Medusa for a little bit, and those huge crits were fun when I could get them. But this patch is much better for our gear options.

@casparian yoooo I ran Scathing + Medusa in One Tamriel, and then Spellweave + Medusa when Homestead gave me that destro staff passive. SO much burst. xD I was hitting over 25k Assassin's Wills on buffed heavy armor targets, not from stealth, and in heavy impen myself. I was very squishy, though. Ended going back to Julianos + Spellweave for consistent crits, though, as Medusa left me with low crit chance when using Shadow.

Sounds like I ran that setup a couple patches too late. It wasn't my favorite (for the reasons you mention), but those few times I got a stupidly massive crit were pretty satisfying.
