I don't know. Was not planning to any day soon, but... Well, I don't know. There is some junk in there I kinda want, and some gear sets that could be useful. And you can always make easy gold by selling the new junk to those who "MUST HAVE IT NOW!!!!!!"

I mean, I am going to get it eventually in any case since Elder Scrolls games are my primary hobby and all. But I am not excited or even really interested in doing any of the content offered by it. And this is despite it being set in VVardenfell - I'm one of those guys who has Morrowind installed even now on my PC, and still play that game every now and then.

It's just that the ridiculous amount of grind associated with everything in ESO, and the overuse of RNG mechanics, have drained most of my interest in the content offered by the game. I do not enjoy running the same content over and over again in hopes of that the 100th time will finally give me something useful out of it. I do not enjoy grinding for hours upon hours to get enough of some resource to buy boxes that have random loot and then have 95% of them drop junk. I am not thrilled to have an endless stream of "collect x amount of random rare drops to get a shiny thingie" type activities.

I do enjoy the storytelling in ESO, and think it's mostly okay with some quite good bits in the mix. But the game play around questing is hopelessly boring. It's always a variation of "go here" and "press active key in X spot" while killing random mobs until a "big bad" spawns which you then need to kill. There is no real exploration. There are no truly dynamic things in the game world and most of your choices are meaningless. And the ones that aren't, usually just mean that one of two unremarkable NPCs you will never see again die.

ESO is a theme park with lots of rides. Too bad they are all the same ride with just different furnishing. I can only do them in small dozes or it starts to get really irritating. To put that in perspective... I started playing this game during the early access period on PC and finally finished Caldwell's Gold few weeks ago, and am now slogging my way though Craglorn.

I did do Wrothgar, but still have most of the stuff in Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood to go through, so I am not in any dire need for new "content." And based on the quests I did on PTS I'd say Morrowind for ESO offers just more of the same. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but... Well yeah I have no reason to believe that the game play is going to be any different in the new chapter. Just more rides to slog though when I get around to it.

As for non quest based game play, what does ESO really offer? Crafting is meaningless and collecting the motifs a huge grind. I suppose you could play the market and try to amass as much gold as possible, but that aint my thing. Besides I hate the guild vendor kiosk system. So much time wasted in running around looking for stuff.

Most of the end game content revolves around running the same dungeons over and over again and that is definitely not my thing either. So that leaves the Homestead system. And that I do actually enjoy. But it is such an enormous grind fest that instead of offering exciting ways to express your creativity, it just boils down to a huge chore. I actually set up my home on the PTS, where you could actually test various items and objects without huge resource drain. And now I am slowly recreating that home on the live server. But the activity itself is now reduced to a grind and filling up a checklist of stuff to get. No time or resources to test and try things out on the live server.

I had plans for several houses before I learned the amount of resources and the grind required by the Homestead system, and now I have given up on most of those plans. I'll be happy if I can get one or two houses fully furnished and then call it quits. The bottom line is that fully furnishing one's home just takes way too much time and is annoyingly boring.

Thus most of my time playing the game is spent in doing PVP. That at least is dynamic. But PVP is plagued by lag and shockingly bad game balance and bugged skills. And the new BGs offered by the new expansion left me quite cold while I tested them on PTS. So much bad design choices.

And then, on top of all that crap, there are all those drastic game changes they made, meaning I need to relearn how to play the game again. And will 'prolly need to spend lots of time testing gear combos and CP allocations until I find a build that works for me, and the way I like to play. And that is a chore, that is a bother and I am not interested to do any of that, and would've been much happier if I wouldn't need to do it. Again.

There is so much in this game that I originally was planning on doing, but as time goes by more and more gets placed in the "not gonna bother with that crap" pile. And Morrowind is sitting right on the edge...

But even so - this is an Elder Scrolls game and thus I will eventually get the Morrowind expansion, it's just that I really am in no hurry to get it. But who knows, I might, in some random whim of a mood, just decide to buy it so that there's one thing less on my things to do list.
