Changes to the 2p health bonus of automaton/light speaker/spider cultist/war maiden but not sun set

laksikus
laksikus
✭✭✭✭✭
So several of intended DPS sets will be changed.
Instead of the 2p bonus thats health on everyone of them, they get weapon/spell crit

those sets include automaton (+400 damage to phsyica), war maiden (+400 dmg to mag), netch (+400 to lightning), ysgramor (+400 to ice), light speaker (+450 dmg to restro), spider cultist (+450 dmg to dw)

3 other sets are similar to that in base game already, just with a different bonus order: spelunker (400 to undaunted), vampire lord (400 to vampire abilities), sword singer (450 to 2h)

ZOS says:
Sets like War Maiden, Netch’s Touch, and Ysgramor’s Legacy are meant to be damage or healing focused by augmenting a particular element or skill line, so the 2-piece bonus of Max Health was out of place for this theme. We’ve updated them to have more appropriate 2-piece bonuses instead.

fine and good, but we miss 1 particular set here.
what did you do with silk of the sun?

in base game its the same as netch and ysgramor just with different element in 5p bonus, why didnt you change that one?

Personally I'm pretty upset they're removing that bonus from the strength of the automaton. The health was a large factor in what attracted me to the set, as it provided a high damage medium set that also bolstered HP. Oh well though.

Nobody forces you to put all points into your main pool and nothing into health.
Or use some health enchants instead.

But for the minmax crowd its good and makes sense. A dps Set shouldn't give sustain or survivability, thats what you can achieve with glyphs and your attribute points

Thats Not a dps Set. Thats a healer/Support set
No endgame pve Player will use that, maybe some healers who havent farmed any gear...
Its a pvp Set for templars in heavy armor.

War maiden only buffs magic damage, so ALL elemental damage skills don't benefit from it. BSW was way overtuned and deserved a nerf, same holds for necropotence.

You still can put a maxHP glyph in one of the big armorpieces. I dunno ofc how much are you focused on crit chance. If not, then this is a loss of stamina, true.

Nowhere. He is talkin out of his...

War Maiden is one of the standardized sets that give damage to skills based on type of their damage or weapon skill line. War Maiden will definitely work as all those sets, therefore increasing damage of all abilities that deal magic damage (not shock, not fire, not anything else) same way that automaton increases damage of all abilities that deal physical damage (not poison, not disease, not anything else)

Elemental Damage are skills that do Fire, Ice and Shock damage.

Magic damage is it's own damage type.

War Maiden specifically says it adds x sp damage to Magic damage. Notice how it does not say "Elemental" damage.

Also, a skill that uses magicka is not the same as one that does Magic damage.

I would never trade magicka attribute points for spell crit, which is what you're suggesting here. Thanks for not understanding how PvP builds and PvP min/maxing work.

These sets wouldn't even be BiS over scathing or bsw in PvE anyway, so why do you care so much about sun's health line? You do realize force pulse gives you like 70% uptime on scathing, right?

Lol, who the hell suggests moving attribute points out of resources into health on a DPS/PvP build...? That is simply not the way to go in this game in it's current state. The line of health was VERY useful for achieving around 24-25k health on a medium armor build, but instead we will get a small amount of crit. Unfortunately, there is no place that I can deduct crit from in favor of health, because my weapon crit comes from : CP passive, dual wield passive w/daggers, medium armor passives, set bonuses etc. Health comes from CP allocation, set bonuses, undaunted passives, and from your 1 piece of heavy in a medium armor build running 5/1/1 (or 5/2 if you choose to exchange the light piece for another heavy piece). This is simply a loss of health for a small amount of crit. What this WILL allow for is the removal of a dagger in favor of a different 1h weapon in dual wield builds, HOWEVER in PvP many DW builds do not use daggers. Personally I prefer an axe/sword, axe/mace, or sword/mace.
