You actually can't. Since Telvanni are not a member of The Pact, nor Covenant or Dominion for that matter. And, since you can't roll up a character without a PvP affiliation... To be fair, that specific example only started to bug me after your multiple, "I wanna buy slaves," threads, where you defended your right to buy and own slaves by proudly declaring that the Telvanni were not, in fact, a member of The Ebonheart Pact.
Yes, House Telvanni is not a part of the Pact, but that doesn't mean your individual character can't fight for the "greater good".

Well, that's not a very Telvanni outlook.
The fact that you really "can't" play the way you want in game. You are, in fact, forced to play certain gear and abilities in order to not get bullied, cursed at, /whisper attacked, kicked, or simply not invited to a group. Zenimax has not done enough to balance the math across all spectrums. Too hard? Too bad. Making a "damage cap" to aspire towards is a far better system which support the free-play style imho. Thus, not every player is running around doing the exact same freaking thing, with the exact same abilities and gear.
I wanted to add people dueling in hubs (e.g. Elden Root, Mournhold, Wayrest, etc.) is incredibly cringeworthy. No one cares about your PvP build that is filled with procs, and dodge capabilities. No one. It was cute and fun when the dueling feature came out (not really because of the amount of lag it caused), but now it's beyond obnoxious. I'm so tired of loading into Elden Root, and seeing a Velidreth proc roll by. Meanwhile the chat is filled with people calling others scrubs, and how they should git gud, and "Lrn2Proc".

"Get on my level! ...of left clicking until RNGesus blesses me with murder vomit."
After I did this three times (once right before I had to fight a dungeon boss!), I finally changed the key for the Ultimate from R to T. It's one key over from R, and it's made all the difference.-When my muscular memory and lag betray me, by pressing R right after pressing E to take all the loot but waste my ultimate.

People actually use Blazing Shield outside of PvP? No lie? >_>?

Hi! I run a blazing shield tank build in PvE at the moment, and have no issues tanking normal or vet dungeons (including DLC). I have no illusions that the build is capable tanking trials -- it simply doesn't offer enough group utility. I originally got the build because I wanted a single gear set that was capable of doing both PvE and PvP to some extent since I wasted a lot of money on other builds that didn't work out for my playstyle, and after playing it a while I decided I like it enough to just stick with it instead of using it as a temporary hop until I did PvP enough to get aggressive warhorn and as many of the achievements in Cyrodiil as possible. I'm slowly leveling up skills I'll need for healing on my off bar so that when I decide I want to do trials on that character, I can shift everything over to a healing Templar build. I'm also planning on leveling an mDK alt as a tank once I hit the cp cap for use in trials as well. Oh, and I also play exclusively in first person, so I guess that's another non-normal thing about me
And to keep this post at least slightly on-topic:
- People that whisper to me that they're planning on kicking my friend from the group, while the two of us laugh about it over voice chat. He plays DPS, and usually when I get those whispers it's from someone who's pulling less weight than my friend is (both of us run Combat Metrics, so we know what proportion of damage the two of us are doing vs the other DPS and healer, and oftentimes in those scenarios our two numbers add up to over 50% of the group DPS, with his being the majority of that because blazing shield builds hit like a wet noodle single-target). If you're going to trash talk someone behind their back, at least be better than them...
- When Molag Kena dies right over the portal and you accidentally activate the portal instead of looting her
- Ulting instead of loot all because you accidentally pressed R before E
- The price of most everything in the crown store
- Getting stuck on rocks or other jaggedy bits during boss battles and being unable to move/dodge/anything because of it
