Bear Ultimate will require double slotting and the damaging morph of it will deal even more damage to targets that are in execute range .

    Some insights:

Polar wind will probably not heal as part of the base ability, makes more sense it will be one of the morphs, similar to Stonefist/obsidian shard for dks.

Ice fortress is probably that mini ice wall sell that npc frost mages use.

Impaling shards is probably a two part ability like the fighters guild crossbow - first cast sticks your target with an ice spike that damages and slows them, while activating it again pulls the target to you.

Nature's grasp will probably be like the tunneling / travel through the ground ability that the wilderqueen and wilder king use.

Zos said that the warden will be good as an archer main. This means two things:
    1. The warden will have a spammable ranged stamina attack, probably a morph for cliff racer, to make up for the bow's lack of weavable attacks.
    2. The warden will probably have a class based major brutality buff to make up for the bow line not having one.

The major brutality buff could come from two sources:
    1. The lotus ability in green balance, which claims to give a damage bonus
    2. A morph of the bull netch. The base null netch ability restores your stamina, I would say that having one morph provide major brutality and the other restore magicka and provide major sorcery makes sense.

The bird of prey skill gives you glowing, translucent wings. It was shown in a screenshot not long ago. It probably gives major expedition while letting you hover just off the ground. In the screen, the wings were blue - I'm hoping one of the morphs makes it a stamina ability with green wings.

The bear ultimate is the warden's only permanent pet. It is a toggle just like the sorcerer pets, and must be double barred to stay active when swapping weapons.

The bear has one morph that causes it to auto revive if it dies, so you never have to recast it.

The other morph increases the bears damage, and allows you to keep generating ultimate while it is active. Activating the ultimate a second time causes the bear to enrage, further increasing its damage and giving it an execute style damage bonus against low health targets.

The subterranean assault actually summons moles.

The bee attack is an aoe.

Secluded Grove may actually have the trees block line of sight, making it really useful in the new battlegrounds.

    Yeah me too :persevere:

I'll update this thread when a lot more new info becomes available. It mainly serves right now as an outline, since it's easier to read and theorycraft with everything in one spot.

Just waiting for the bulk of the Warden skill lines to eventually be shown off.

These skills sound like they are borrowing too much from the other classes or are just improved versions of those skills. I was hoping ZOS would make the Warden have truly unique skills that clearly define it. With the listed skills right now, the Warden looks to be the jack of all trades of all the classes.

I can see this class replacing the main for many of us in it's current state.

Tbh it is frustrating to read Crystallized Shield description. Templars were asking of revamping Total Dark into self-absorb with resource return upon in to be like non-*** DKs Scales, since Thieves Guild dlc.. only to be ended as Warden skill :(
Otherwise their skills are versatile and this is good. Don't know how in pve, but in pvp this class will be fine since it have all tools it need for effective gameplay, at least if it won't be nerfed.

Yeah this class is bound to be pretty bad for solo players, It was after all originally removed content and not anything special, It also has nothing to do with the DLC that is it is a part of, also the whole ice magic thing just doesn't suit the whole theme of the Warden, They seem to be all about giving life where as Ice magic is more about "Cold and Death" and should of been saved for a Necromancer class or something.

I would say that in this case the cold magic is more representative of the harsh conditions in the wild rather than of "death"

Am I missing something or this class doesn't have a damage shield (just magika attack absorb)? Interest in a Warden tank cratering. Perhaps one of the morphs makes it absorb physical damage too.

Edit: And even if we're going with "realism", how the heck would a giant bubble of ice NOT stop physical attacks? A tank-focused class with a half-assed shield is a bad idea.

As someone who was planning on a majicka animal dps / healer, I am very, very happy with the looks of things so far!

This is my opinion as well. Warden in ESO is like Astrologian in Final Fantasy XIV - a class that impersonates two other classes but with less efficiency. In FFXIV were two heal classes, a direct healer with amazing group heals and a shield healer. Astrologian then was given the choice of being either one of those other healers to complement the other healer by choosing from fight to fight which constellation works better. Warden feels the same but it's like all of the four basic classes in ESO mingled into one.

    Sleet Storm = Nova
Impaling Shards = Encase + damage
    Etc.

I don't say that it's a bad thing but Warden doesn't sound like it's going to be “super special“. Instead it's just a mixture of every other class. That could be great (I am hoping for the morphs) but it could be pretty bland and imbalanced as well.

I'm quite concerned with the lack of Stamina/physical damage I see. I know it may be too early but the Ethernal Guardian deals magic damage, and we know about both its morphs (perma-reappearence vs damage burst). Is it likely than either one deals physical damage?
Same with most animal companion Skills.
I fear that we might end up with another stamina-morphs-are-second-skills class that relies in weapon/guild skills to be useful. Sure, Wardens will benefit of both stamina and magicka but at this very moment a purely stambuild seems unlikely

I believe this is intentional. Morrowind is an important milestone for the game. A lot of new players will join and will expect an Elder Scrolls game - "Play the way you want". The devs have designed the Warden for new players to be able to both play solo the way they wanted and/or join a group and fill (almost) any role.

Well we don't know the morphs yet, you can be sure stamina will have some nice toys.

As for the ultimate, from the post it seems like the two morphs are almost baked into the base skill? I can understand your concern though, as personally I was worried the bear would be physical only. I seem to have gotten my wish of magic damage, but if i was a gambling man I'd wager they will give the bear a physical morph that will be heavy damage.

Well, my concern was: the images we got from PAX showcased a 20k damage hit every 75 ultimate with a PTS template (e.g. no damage). A well build character could be somewhat close to 40k base hit. Say 60k+ crit damage (1.5x basic multiplier). That is 20-30k hit in PvP, instakill in most cases for medium-low resistant players. Now add the fact that 75 ultimate is 3 kills (20 Ult - combat frenzy) or 10-12 seconds of active combat.

In my humble opinion, and as an admitted stamina oriented player, I hope the bear to have one morph of each, since I see it as the ONLY attractive skill for a PvP oriented stamina character. Its yet to be seen if Green Balance or Winter Embrace will bring any stamina juicy morphs and if Animal Companions bring some level of utility (bull=dark deal?) but as @Seraphyel has pointed out above, jack of all trades and master of none. If the Bear is magick damage and the utility skills are re-skins of other classes'/lines skills (e.g. major expedition, major ward, minor endurance), what's the point of playing Stamina PvP open world warden??

Warden may end up being OP when first released, but ZOS will smack it too hard with the nerf bat and it will be useless for a while until they get around to fixing it.

    Just like Templar.
