I feel like DK's are going to be out as the go to tank class soon.

warden seems to just have so much going on in its kit.

Depends mostly on the stamina recovery you get from the other Netch morph. Without a good stamina gain while blocking you'll get in trouble in long fights.
You also need a DK for chains in the Raid, the rune will not be an equal replacement for it.

Wow as I expected Winters embrace would be a tank tree, I feel bad for the guys that wanted a cryomancer.

I now hope Animal companions gets some good stam morphs so a competitive bow build would be viable.

So this class has minor brutality, a raw damage increase passive, unlimited snares, is resistant to snares, incredible healing, major sorcery, major prophecy, major mending, major defile, major expedition, fantastic resource management, group major defenses, increased armor, increased healing received, an executive, and a class spammable. Can it fly too?!

Edit: I forgot to add that they also have a class purge lol

    My thoughts.

    Winter's Embrace

Interesting to see ice abilities scaling off max health, though as a magicka user that's very disappointing because that kind of knocks those off the table for me. Stat scaling is such a *** mechanic. I wish they'd just drop it.

So the only ability here that I see appeal in is Expansive Frost Cloak.

    Green Balance

Major Mending is achieved by healing someone under 50% health? I suppose that might be when you're most likely to need the boost but it seems *** compared to how easily templars can get and maintain it.

Enchanted Growth : Functionally it looks the same as the Resto Staff Blessing of Protection. But I suppose it'd be nice to have a plant looking equivalent.

Corrupting Pollen : The 6s delayed mega heal seems odd. Templar's Healing Ritual had a delayed heal morph and no-one used it for obvious reasons. Though I suppose that's why this also has the synergy instant heal.

Living Trellis : Going by those numbers it looks like this can pump out a crap ton of healing. Assuming your target is getting hit a lot.

    Lotus Blossom : Ok.

Nature's Embrace : Like with Trellis, the healing on this looks huge. But also very situational.

Healing Thicket : Looks good, though the ultimate cost appears to be very cheap.

    Animal Companions

Regain health if a pet is killed or unsummoned? Presently Sorcs can only unsummon by going into the character screen and right-clicking on the pet. That'd be a really annoying method of self-healing if that's what this is intended to be. Seems pretty pointless.

Screaming Cliff Racer : As expected.

    Deep Fissure : As expected.

Growing Swarm : The initial DoT looks good but can't imagine how the infection would be worth it. Your initial target has to survive for 6 seconds and have friends who haven't died by that time. I never that. Must be intended for PvP?

Blue Betty : Major sorc and a little bit of magicka regen. Ok.

    Bird of Prey : Nice.

Eternal Guardian : Interesting to see it will also have an attack which consumes ultimate. Wasn't expecting that.

    Overall Impression

The ice line is a big letdown but maybe those abilities will also have magicka morphs. I can hope at least.

The healing line has a few surprises. Not sure how they'll play but I'm curious to see that.

The animal line is pretty much what I expected.

That's about what I got out of these previews.

It looks like trial raids will likely go with 1 templar/1 warden. Some of those defensive passives and area heals will probably be pretty strong. The templar can emergency heal and provide shards, the warden provides overall defensive buffs and HoTs.

I can probably cry about how unfair it is to have a low cost ultimate continuous pet dot and access to pretty much every buff in the game as a class skill, but it probably won't spell doom for every other class.

Very cool and definitely on par with the other classes. There will definitely be changes though as the icons are unfinished and the tooltips full of little errors.

A couple things will easily be changed balance-wise a bit but in general I'm happy with this class and will be able to use it for roles in-place of other classes.

Not surprised there are already ppl totally freaking out. Unless the Warden was literally terrible it was bound to happen, because it has skills which are actually unique and usefull.

Expect plenty of Warden nerfs soon after release. The only one I'd really support is some sort of nerf to the 24sec Major Ward/Resolve armor group buff. That one seems overkill.

Zenimax, I get that it's an industry standard to take something from competitors, modify it slightly, and call it yours. However just because one competing MMO has something called "Guardian" that is nature-based, has an affinity for bears, and is the most OP thing in that game doesn't mean you should copy that..right?

I mean I already see that you copied that competing MMO's bias against the 'holy knight' archetype, but for the love of all things good in Tamriel, do not copy that mmo's bias towards the "druid" archetype. Please.

Honestly the only issue i have is with the green balance skill line. Frankly speaking it seems FAR to generous with its heaking output in both passives and the skills. Even without knowing the morphs, it seems less like a clever way to implement a healing approach as is found in the group healing tools of the other 4 classes and more so just a bunch of "heal x amount this way. Heal y amount this way. Heal z amount when player is in this state. Etc etc."

The majority of healing in this game is usually achieved in a unique fashion, and the primary healing skills are not baked into a skill line that is 100 percent about healing. The "healing" skill line for templar contains critical tanking tools and passives. The nbs strongest healing tools exists in both the shadow tree and a primary magic damage dealing tree. Sorcs have a powerfull burst heal found in a tree dedicated to summons.

The green balance passives and from what we can.see of its active skills seem to serve no purpose outside of increasing your raw healing output. Even if the morphs serve as variable functions, the passives in the green balance tree would not benefit those skills in any way if they happen to have more offensive morphs.

I guess what im saying is in general each skill line for the warden from what we have seen, seem very rigid and one dimensional vs how clever and inuitive the existing classes are desgined in regards to the tools at there disposal baked into all 3 skill lines for fulfilling each of the 3 roles. Winters embrace and animal companion passives are bit more broad and could in some way lend themselves to various roles in some fashion, green balance does not.

What's on cooldown is the effect that it immediately respawns. You can respawn it whenever you want but the regular way has a cast time. Also its a really sturdy thing. Not easy to take down, but in PvP it can be CC'ed.
