Would make decorating a lot better, and since thats all the houses are really good for, it would be great.
It would not have to be permanent, in the sense that it becomes something that is timed and has to change on the timer.
It could just be something like view this house as Day or Night for 30 seconds and then it goes back to what the rest of the world is. That would be enough to check the lighting while decorating or to show off the house.
It is in it's own instance, so this change, as long as it does not need to be stored in memory, should be easy to implement.
Because that's just one more thing to take up the server's memory, having to know which instances of which houses have what time of day set.
And contrary to how some questlines can be done in direct reverse order, we aren't time lords.

For the purpose of viewing decorations at night or in the morning ya. But, other than that I feel the day/night should be regulated by the server instead because I find it would be awkward to be heading to the entrance of my house while its morning but when I phase in it automatically becoming night is weird. Unless, of course I took 7-8 hours to walk through that door in game time.
