Day/Night Switch for Housing Instance

:star:Would you like to have the option of changing your house instance to either day or night time. This wouldn't hurt anyone. This would just be a personal preference. :star:

Me and several of my friends would like to have the option of viewing our houses at night, especially while decorating so you can see how certain lights and furnishing items look in a different light. No one wants to wait hours just for sunset. And it wouldn't really hurt anyone either. So why not?

Because that's just one more thing to take up the server's memory, having to know which instances of which houses have what time of day set.

And contrary to how some questlines can be done in direct reverse order, we aren't time lords.

It should cycle with the game just like rain happens in a home based on the games design.

yes, i had same concern, I got some lights, but it was daytime, so cant see their full effect.

Would make decorating a lot better, and since thats all the houses are really good for, it would be great.

It would not have to be permanent, in the sense that it becomes something that is timed and has to change on the timer.

It could just be something like view this house as Day or Night for 30 seconds and then it goes back to what the rest of the world is. That would be enough to check the lighting while decorating or to show off the house.

It is in it's own instance, so this change, as long as it does not need to be stored in memory, should be easy to implement.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Totally agree! I want more customization to my house and really set a style to it. Don't really understand how anyone could be against it as it's a separate instance. Your instance, and doesn't affect anyone outside of it. The only server load there would be is on your end. Not anyone else's.

That works too! I really just want to be able to see how my house looks at night while decorating :)

We should be able to manually choose day or night while in the housing editor, because we are... Wait for it... Editing the house.

I also think that when we enter the housing editor mode the camera should detach from the character.

Rain is client side. When your character strolls out in the rain, the person next to you could be seeing a cloudless and sunny sky. So the servers aren't making the rain, it's your own machine. If they make rain client-side I wonder how much of a stretch it would be to make the sun client side in a housing instance.

Not really...they could easily make it client side, in fact in Alpha Trion was actually thinking about implementing the ability of control your Day/night cycle on the client end....it was left by the wayside right before beta.

For the purpose of viewing decorations at night or in the morning ya. But, other than that I feel the day/night should be regulated by the server instead because I find it would be awkward to be heading to the entrance of my house while its morning but when I phase in it automatically becoming night is weird. Unless, of course I took 7-8 hours to walk through that door in game time.

I don't know if they could do it . Theirs something strange with exteriors on some houses . While the insides are instanced the outsides are shared instance with the zone but decoratable . I can see people walking around the outside of the Bankorai home .

Maybe just add a toggle under the decorating mode, that only applies during that mode?

Really? I never seen anyone outside my home in Narsi. And i can't see any of my decorations looking in from outside of my instance. You sure, what you saw wasn't NPC's? :p

Ability to change to day or night?
No. I haven't even seen very powerfull mages pull this off, and now, all of the sudden, everyone can? The mages guild skill line lets you call down a meteor on your opponents. This is already such a powerfull spell, that it's used as an ultimate ability. So, it takes soo much effort to call upon a rock, but it only takes 2 claps to replace the sun and moon? And that for only one spot?

Ability to preview your house in day or night setting while in editor mode?
    This I would allow.
