TBH all I can hope for now is that this company does not butcher the nostalgia of Morrowind with a sub par unfinished dlc/expansion whatever the hell you wish to call it because the fallout from that would just be epic.

If they screw up Morrowind people will still buy it / play it.

If they don't screw it up people will still complain.

This forum is just meant for complaining I've noticed lol.

Bad changes happen regularly from it. I just hope the content that gets released is actually difficult.

Everyone on here complains yet they never leave the game.

I'm guessing they will release additional "DLC" that's for the area in Morrowind afterwards. It makes sense from a game play / business perspective. If you wanna continue to play new content you would have to buy Morrowind.

Edit: Still a little surprised they would compromise the trust of all their subscribers by doing this though.

Yep, the forums typically represent the player base quite inaccurately. The majority of players just play the game, enjoy it, and don't even think about the forums. The people that are here are either the ones that get upset and love complaining all the time, or the people that enjoy watching it happen (like me :D )

Interesting. Kindly explain how buying DLC separately and a) not with free crowns given every month of subscription or b) not purchasing DLC at all but using it "for free" with the subscription has saved you money.

They are charging for the Xpac, you dont get it for free with ESO+. Deal with it or dont, your choice.

Ive subbed since the beginning of the game. I will buy the expansion and Ill keep subbing.

I do not feel like I should get it for free and I dont feel that I should be refunded my ESO+ because I did get something from it with not having to buy the DLCs, the crowns I get every month and the crafting bag.

The people that do the work on this game have a salary that needs to get paid or we wont have any more DLC, Expacs or anything else to argue about. Bethesda is a business, not a charity.

WoW has always had a sub AND charged for expansions. This is not new and its not shocking.

People subscribed on the promise that we would get quarterly DLC.

We havent. Instead, some of that time, and some of that subscription money, has gone to make this special "DLC" that cannot be purchased in the same way by the people that helped pay for it.

If you don't see that as morally bankrupt your compass is broken.

    Your question was phrased oddly.

I've been playing for about 2 years.

    24 x $15 = $360

No way I came near that even with purchasing mounts on the side. They have sales on crowns in which they are half price...

With the money I saved I think I'm gonna buy the physical Collectors Edition of Morrowind.

There are people that said they have been subbed for 3 years.... That would work out to $540.

Edit: I bought the gold edition of this game for a couple people on steam while on sale as a gift. I still think I'm on the winning side even after that.

    Quick question:

Would you people feel better if the subscription included what you think it should....but the subscription cost doubled or tripled in price?

Or did Zos promise you all the content forever AND THE 2014 PRICES FOREVER TOO?? lol

The question is extremely clear, yet I said nothing about purchasing mounts or other trinkets such as that. I actually only mentioned DLC. Also, purchasing six month or yearly ESO subscriptions comes with a very nice discount, so your math is a bit off.

I'm not the person you asked but here's the math for my situation.

I have spent £93.76 on this game. That includes the base game, the Imperial Upgrade (before it was in the crown store) and all the crown packs I've purchased (so therefore includes the cost of the DLC and any crown store items I've purchased).

I've been playing for just under 2 years so lets call that 4 180 day subs (which is the cheapest way to do it). That would have cost me £167.76. Add on what I paid for the base game and it comes to £179.76. (I'll be generous and assume in this situation I somehow knew the Imperial Upgrade would be available with crowns and so didn't buy it from the website, unlikely that would have happened but never mind.)

So at this point in time subscribing would have cost me £86 more than I have paid by not subscribing.

And what would I have gotten by subscribing which I don't have now? Access to the craft bag, 10% extra XP and 18,000 crowns more than I've ever wanted. (Technically 18,800 since I have 800 sitting on my account unspent because I don't want anything else.)

Note that I'm not restricting myself to only the crowns I can afford, desperately wishing I could buy more stuff but too poor to afford it (or too lazy if you're inclined to think that way). I have everything I've ever wanted from the crown store. 10% extra XP is useless to me because (until One Tamriel) I was always over-leveled for whatever I was doing. So that leaves the craft bag; a nice perk but really not worth £86.

So yeah, I am still getting what I paid for plus some nice bonuses.

I also plan to buy Morrowind and keep my sub.

You buy crowns sometimes I guess but you don't get the craft bag, so you get to deal with the headache of bank space management.

I don't get why people are so upset, you get 1500 Crowns (15$ by itself) along with craft bag, 10% boost, and content, and also feel the need to get any new content for free right on the dot.

Yeah because that is what was promised. So now all the dlc will be like shadow of the hist and anything like all the other dlc all they have to do is put it to disc and say it's different.

I'm a ESO+ subscriber and buying Morrowind doesn't bother me in the slightest, I've bought a few games lately and still haven't even put the disc in the console cause I just can't get off ESO in my limited play time, I know I'll get my use out of morrowind so it doesn't bother me.

The only thing I would like to know is if they're raising the gear cap, cause if that's the case I'll ditch ESO and go play those new games that have.been waiting for me, I refuse to do the gear grind again. I don't mind grinding for NEW sets ect. That's to be expected but it's taken me a lot of time to get perfect monster sets and I will not be doing it again

Why do people keep saying that subscribers want the expansion/dlc/chapter for free? Subscribers pay $180/year. That doesn't sound like the definition of free to me.

And if they are not getting what was promised for that $180, then they aren't even paying, they're donating.

Meh never had any issue subscribing I have the coolest mounts and pets in the game and it's just from opening a couple inclusive crown crates.

My enjoyment of ESO has caused me to unsub from the other 3 mmo's I was paying for so 13 clams a month is a retardidly good value. I have a nice rewards program with a online store and I'm getting the physical CE for the cost of next day shipping.

Honestly, it will all come down to whether or not they get it right. This hold true for any game.

They're under even greater scrutiny given the content of the content. Treading on hallowed ground, here.

Regarding sub/not sub, worth the cost/not worth the cost. I generally consider $1/hour.

If I can get an hour's worth of (not horribly bugged, catastrophically coded) gameplay out of a video game, it's served its purpose well.

Anything more than that is bonus. It gives Devs a # to shoot for that people find reasonable. That being said, it's hard not to get 15 hours worth of entertainment out of ESO+

While that amount sounds small, it's incentive to make a good game - $1/hour/cost of game x 1,000,000 copies still produces a lot of revenue.
