I Don't Understand ESO's Community

I don't understand you guys sometimes. I really don't. People will say 1 thing and almost all agree upon said thing for months and months, and then complain once they get what they've asked for. Why? Let me elaborate.

People complained for MONTHS how stamina was outclassing magicka (myself included), as stamina was getting constantly buffs and benefits thrown to them. Back after back. Constant positives and things that made them fantastic in PvE and PvP. Update 13 finally address how ridiculous stamina is, and gives magicka an edge — and OMG! The sky is falling! No. Not really. The sky is not falling, because stamina can do obnoxiously high damage anymore, and magicka has a shot at supplying strong damage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what dominated in PvE for fastest VMA runs...? StamSorc yes? Followed by StamDK. Absolutely melted the content. Made it look like it was on normal difficulty. You had people doing 30ish Minute runs in VMA, with someone even hitting a 600k score. Of course with a stamina build. Aaaaaand magicka being possible of this? Lol no. But! People are throwing a hissyfit. Why?

People swore out that pets are garbage. Oh how people wanted the Daedric Summoning skill line of the Sorcerer to be scrapped and or replaced. Pets are horrible this. PerSorcs are a waste that. Constant bashing of pet builds nonstop. For months. MONTHS! Damn the fact that pet builds were solo'ing content, and low-key doing things that were pretty unheard of. But still. Constant bashing of pet builds. Pets are becoming incredibly viable with U13, and people act like they've lost their damn mind. They act like MagSorcs are beyond broken now, and how pets are going to be the FOTM. What...? Were people not just complaining about how useless pets are, and a waste of slots? We pet users finally get shown some love from the devs, and now people get in their feelings? Y'all gotta chill, and stop the bs.

Continuing on to a similar note, why am I constantly hearing about how MagPlars are going to be dead with the next update and how they will become useless in PvP? I'm constantly hearing about how it's not fair that Radiant was nerfed, and completely unneeded. And yet... There have been how many threads and posts complaining about how people were tired of being "Jesus Beamed" at ridiculous ranges and melted? And now that what you've been constantly asking for has been delivered, you want to act like it was uncalled for? What?

I don't understand this community. I honestly don't. Maybe it's just not meant for me to understand, and for me to just: Lurk, gather information, and do with said information what I will. But some people within this community really need to pause for a moment, and make-up their indecisive minds on a lot of things. Because the constant ping-ponging is beginning to make my stomach churn.

I think people aren't so much doing the "chicken little" routine as they are upset that ZoS seems a bit ham-handed with changes.

Of course hyperbole reigns so they might give that impression.

People on this game will be unhaply no matter what. We get sets and builds that completely destroy the competition and everyone cries about it? I've been gaming for 22 years and this is the first community I have seen that shuns powerful gear and skill sets and opt for crap gear and skills, then cry and whine and beg the devs to take the good stuff out because they don't want to adapt.

Any other game, you use the best to be the best. You don't use the worst and cry because you aren't the best, insane by definition or just plain stupid.

I will say that a section of the community here are very ... For lack of a better term, fickle.

For example, let's not forget everyone saying the destro staff ultimate was useless, now people want nerf.

Stamina was too powerful, now it's being toned down it's ruined.

And so on. There's very little continuity.

Well it weren't the the same people asking for the same things, obviously.
Stamina players were asking for stamina buffs and complaining about magicka, calling for nerfs. Magicka players calling for stamina nerfs and magicka buffs.
Squishy night blades moaning about Jesus beams melting them (it certainly wasn't the Jesus beamers calling for nerfs for their own abilities). Tanky tanks moaning about not being able to DPS enough while being able to soak up the damage from 20 players (they got their wishes).

Different people complain about different things, while I do agree a lot of it is BS, the 2 major problems that were plaguing PvP nearly everyone uniformly agreed on still aren't fixed in PTS... How about them apples O.o

I don't understand this community. I honestly don't. Maybe it's just not meant for me to understand, and for me to just: Lurk, gather information, and do with said information what I will. But some people within this community really need to pause for a moment, and make-up their indecisive minds on a lot of things. Because the constant ping-ponging is beginning to make my stomach churn.

Of course people would complain. Did you forget there are always opposing complaints. Magicka in a group/trial setting has always been good since they damage, utility, and survivability especially when they got the destro ULT. All stamina had was increase burst damage from proc sets and damage increase from maelstrom daggers. Now that proc sets do not crit and maestrom daggers were nerf last patch plus the change to crit damage and the nerf to trap beast. Stamina now has nothing to compete with Magicka in that setting anymore. Though stamina is to still OK in solo PvE and pvp.

Tbh I think the game will be the most balanced it has been, there's a few things we're all going to not be happy with, but overall this will be a good patch and thus moving the game forward.

The problem isn't the players, it's zos still trying to "balance" skills without making separate effects for PvE and PvP. It's impossible to balance 2 entirely different parts of the game under the same skill so every change ends up pissing off both sides of the fence.
