Unless you guys want everyone to roll and play a magicka sorc you need to TONE DOWN THE BUFFS!!!

There is simply too much free CC woven into their rotation to have the kind of damage they have and tankiness to boot.

Its not fun. Its not fair. Its truly absurd.

Can you guys wake up ZoS???

Lol what is it that you think is now OP on MagSorc compared to the continued Heavy armor proc build Stam meta? Pets certainly aren't OP, they're just annoying to fight because targeting needs to be patched not to focus the pets instead of the player. And nothing else on the MagSorc has really gotten buffed that I've seen beyond the Destro buffs and all Magicka classes benefit from that.

Pets hitting for 13k.. CC from pets.. Unkillable sorcs.. These are all from recent duels.

Although after i posted this i did smoke one 1v1 with my stam DK no procs.

I have faced about 5 mag sorcs since the patch on the PTS..

The results have been alarming. While i consistently beat stam DKs and stam sorcs and stam NBs The magicka sorc has given me A LOT of trouble..

Please tell me how you are consistently beating them.

Their CC is mixed into their burst too nicely and then those pets hitting HARD and CCing as well.

I had a pet CC me today and I couldnt break CC despiute having full stam.

Just freaking weird.

I am assuming this is magblade due to your other post.

The not being able to break free with full stam is a bug that can occur with any CC, though volatile familiar is similar to fear in that it may take a second to break it.

You should never get cced by a frag as a magblade. Learn to watch the sorc's hands to know when they have a proc up and block it when it comes. Stand back if you can to give yourself more room to react (frag has travel time).

Sorcs typically use either dawnbreaker, meteor, or destro ult. Either way, you can counter by either blocking or shadeporting and throwing up healing ward. It's easy to keep track of their ult meter by watching yours (though yours will go up a little faster).

Cripple the volatile familiar to snare and and move in a circle so that it has to chase you. It cannot stun you if it is not near you. Alternatively, you could use agony on it.

Learn the proper magblade rotations. You can fairly easily do 20k burst as a magblade, even 30k is possible in the right conditions.

I can help you with some of the minutiae of magblade if you would like some assistance.

This, pets are nice in 1v1, very nice, but when there are more targets and the terrain starts becoming relevant, the pet go exploring and sometimes becomes a pacifist for no apparent reason. Their AI just cant cope. Even if you use the commands. Especially around and in keeps/towers.

I think I'm the sorc @Duukar is compaining about. At least maybe I'm the latest to bother him as we were dueling some earlier today. Honestly, the pet sorc build does have a fair number of counters, as some have pointed out. A high AOE character can kill the pets quick and then stay on top of the sorc and keep bashing every time the sorc tries to resummon. Cloaking is also still effective. Also, mag sorcs are notorious for running no stam (guilty), so a couple cc's usually will lay us out. One thing to watch for is the moment about 7-9 seconds into the fight. That is usually when the first big lined up burst opportunity happens. If you're aware it's coming you can put pressure on in the first 5, then tank up through the burst (after curse and frags hit you, you should be safe for a while), then go back on the offensive.

This is a mageblade posting? Destro mageblade dumps on mag sorc 1v1 regardless of the sorc's build. This is an issue of mechanics.

He has no reliable cc on you, and if he is full health with less than one full shield up, he's in a 2 global cooldown kill range. Kite the scamp. Zen mentioned Crippling it. Use Destructive Reach to keep pressure on him from range, and go in with Soul Tether front bar for the big combo when his shields dip low. Entropy > tether > assassin's will > impale will kill a full health sorc with a partial shield up before he knows what happened.

Lemme guess: you neither know the skill Absorb magic nor do you move during combat? It is an illusion to think it is a stam only skill. Oh, and you didn´t know know that you can perma cc the skamp? Oh, and shield breaker is also unknown to you? It even has a nice synergy with grim focus. It doesn' t matter much that it is medium armor, if you enchant it with magicka... It even increases your frag dodge chance.

If you lose a duell against a mag sorc, you can only blame yourself (except maybe if they are of the mine stander type). Please abstain from opening such threads in the pts area, and post them in the "Player helping Player area" instead.

The problem is dueling does not resemble cyrodiil pvp in the slightest.

Pets still don´t work in lag. They simply stop doing anything. Also they´re dumb as a rock. They kill themselves reliably by walking (for example) into mines against another sorc.
If you actually build to counter pets it´s really easy and gets the sorc into enourmous trouble.

Petrify twilight - lure scamp into trap and burst it down - then keep the sorc from ever recasting it.

That's in duels, where pet sorc has always been strong. I doubt we'll see many pet sorcs in open world next patch due to the way the pet AI works.

Making any changes to Sorc based on what pet sorcs can do is rediculous. People always make pet sorcs on the PTS because PTS gives them the freedom to try crazy builds.

Pet builds are miserable live and in open world. Let them be OP 1v1 and for PvE. That's where they should belong.

Just because you think it's OP in 1v1, doesn't mean it needs a nerf: It was and still is one of the most underperforming builds in all other aspects of the game.

And also, pet builds are easier to counter than any other build. Just slot 1 counter ability and you turn a pet sorc into a much weaker version of a normal sorc, because he has 6 slots less for abilities to use. Pet Sorc needed these buffs and it is still not where it should be, still many bugs.

What sorcpets need, is better AI, or better controls then the current 2 commands (wich dont work half the time)
Most of all, not taking up 2 slots per pet. Sometimes 3 slots per pet (if using overloadbar)
