Scale Everyone to Max CP on CP Campaigns

Everyone should be given 561 cp when they enter a cp campaign as that would make things more balanced and fair. It would also lower the barrier of entry to this game in general as if I had to grind that many cp just to be competitive I probably wouldn't play the game.

Oh and add this to dueling as well or give the option for no cp dueling.

Agreed, this game is too dependent on grind for competitive PvP. A little bit of progression is okay and probably necessary, but the CP gap is ridiculous.

Time played should = more skill, not better stats just because.

I use to do that but some of the players there are very new to the game and don't know what they are doing while the others are using the even stronger proc sets because of cp removal and resource poisons to get whatever edge they can.

CP is easy. It doesn't take motivated players long to catch up.

The problem is the gear grind.

I don't think a player should be given a stat advantage over another just because of time commitment. Especially in a competitive environment.

But they get a huge advantage from farmed gear-which is the biggest time suck in the game. At least you earn CP while you Pvp.

Crafted gear is not that far behind drops, sometimes even better than dropped gear. You also have to be able to actually do the content to get most of the gear.

Problem is nonCP is working competely different from the rest of the game and does not prepare you in any way to what´s coming in a CP campaign (and ppl are not likely to adjust).

So what cp + noncp campaigns coexisting achieve is an effective devide in pvp playerbase that ultimately can´t be desireable - imo.

I feel that the "new" or weak player argument fails in no cp because no matter how weak they are you don't have unlimited resources to handle them and attrition is horrible.

You make real sacrifices their if you want to push for damage or regen etc.

But then again everyone is fit to play how they like. I just feel that the no CP campaign evens the playing field, and the cp campaign is a goal to work towards.

Just give everyone the same magic, health and stamina. The same defense, same attack, same crit. Make all the characters the same cookie cutter with the same gear. We could all run around using light attack waiting for some add-on to tells us to block.

    I play both.

I find cp to be extremely easy and my opinion(just an opinion) is that if you can handle it with no cp you will crush the cp camp.

I agree with this. Not everyone wants to play non-cp, for whatever reason even if they are low CP. As much fun as it is/was it feels sometimes too much like a VR10 fighting a lower level character at launch. Gear is gear and provides diversity in builds that you see in Cyro, but I don't think I should have 25% more everything than someone just because they are a new player in a competitive environment.

I'm of the belief that CP should be removed entirely. But your suggestion just renders CP irrelevant all the same, in which case it should just be removed.

If CP must stay in place however, I worked hard to rack up my CP and put time into the game. So yes, I believe I earned my stat superiority over someone just joining the game even with equal gear. This is our reward for investing so much into the game to begin with.

I very much enjoy no-CP campaigns. I really like how it forces me to make compromises between sustain and damage while putting me on the same level as my opponents. When I hop into TF I really hate how I can find a CP10 player and it won't even feel like a challenge. It's not satisfying - just like when I wore proc sets and got kills because my pants got them, not me.

Champion points need a revamp. Players still need some form of end game progression, but the current system is so broken that it seriously needs to change. As it is now, there's still decent competition between a cp 300 and a capped cp player, but that gap will only get worse as the cap gets raised every quarter. Passives that boost base damage and sustain emphasize the power gap over the skill gap a bit too much.

Actually they should. Players who put more time and effort into grinding cp should have more of an advantage than those who don't. You can go to a non cp campaign, or even BWB, if you don't want to work for cp.

I use to think it was the progression design and lack of balance/performance/bug fixes from ZoS that would prevent any truly competitive PvP, but it's the players. CP is an indefensible advantage, yet apparently so many think they are deserving of a stat boost just based on time played.

Why are so many people afraid to fight people with the same statistical modifiers that you have? Why not use your skill and experience you've developed by playing longer rather then a raw statistical advantage?

Would love to see gear in PvP maxed out at purple also, do any PvP'ers really enjoy farming gold mats or wasting money on them? Sets are easy to obtain, golding them out is a pain and something I've personally only done for an entire build once.

    Because that died with 1.5

I, and many others put effort, and invested time into this game. I disagree with this grey equality notion. If anything, they need to reward their loyal players with a removal of this silly CP cap.

At this point, just remove CP and give every class base stats in PvP. Be easier to balance the classes.

I get all of my gold mats by just occasionally picking things up off the ground. It's not that hard if you're not lazy.

And if you really don't like the CP, as someone else said, that is hat Azura's is for.

All MMO's have some sort of progression where players that put more time in will have an advantage. Most MMO's just keep raising the level cap. CP is no different than having a higher level character.

I'm guessing there wouldn't really be a way to fully implement your idea OP because the CP stars have to be allocated manually.

I do support the notion of a more even playing field though - what they COULD do is give the full resource pool gains for 561 CP to players below 561 (I forget what the number of mag/stam/health points is per each CP but it is significant). That would certainly help.
  • LeifErickson

Azuras star is only harder than cp campaigns because things like resource poisons and fasallas are not balanced there. If those things are out of the question, then Azuras star is much easier than cp campaigns.

Why not? People who have dedicated time to any hobby or sport will always have a competetive advantage over those who haven't. There's a difference between fair and equal. There inequality in the stats of low vs. high CP players, but it is just and fair, given the structure of the game.

As stated, you have the option of playing the non CP campaign. If you don't like playing there that's on you, it doesn't give justification to change the structure of CP camps.
