Tired of my alchemy writs pulling my very expensive restore hp/magicka/stam pots since they are labled "essence of health".

Totally agree. Seems like an easy fix.

    Agreed.

It would also be nice if crafted potions were a different color. IIRC alchemy mats are green, so what about green, blue, or purple for crafted potions?

This would seem to align with how crafted foods/drinks are colored, and would be a nice quality of life change.

I don't know how they still haven't done this. Very annoying having to keep juggling pots while completing writs...

You know that a essence of health doesn´t mean a tripot right?? It works with a regular "only health" potion, at least it does for me.

One pot per writ / day is hardly bank breaking. But yes they should be changed.

Everybody knows that, except the game developers.

When taking a writ, the game requires that you craft an "Essence of Health".
If you already have a tripot in the inventory, the quest will already be ready for delivery, since the tripot is named "Essence of Health" and is crafted.
And when handing in the writ, it will take one tripot.

A simple fix into "Essence of Restoration" would be enough.

Always thought it should be like this
    Looted - White
    Crafted, 1 effect - Green
    Crafted, 2 effects - Blue
    Crafted, 3 effects - Purple

Then make Green potions acceptable for writs, just as you can't accidentally throw in an item with a trait for equipment writs
If you quote someone, and intend for them to see what you have said, be sure to Mention them with @[insert name].

Or let us "lock" potions so you can't accidentally sell them or deliver them for a writ (but can still drink them).

They all need new names. i makes some stamina pots that have the speed buff too and they get the same name as plain stamina pots. Or my health pits that add major mending, etc.

I just wish I could lock potions...mostly so I don't use them for my daily writ. It seems that no matter how many 'normal', one stat potions you have, the game automatically picks the tri-pot for some reason. The only way I've found to avoid this is to put the tri-pot in the bank...which is a pain to do that just for a writ.

I actually like the way things are. I premake my writ potions and pull them out of my bank when turning in writs. Because I already carry tripots on a number of my characters, it means that I don't need to waste a bank space for the health potions.

And what does it cost me? Well, essence of health comes up every 4 writs. One columbine makes 4 potions. So it's costing me just one columbine every 16 writs. In exchange for one precious bank space and not having to split and withdraw the writ potion one-quarter of the time. I don't know about you, but bank space and faster writ completion is a damn good bargain for one measly flower every 16 writs.

I put all the food/drink/pots in the bank too and I do writs on 7 characters every day, so it's a few more than that.

So? Just because you do a lot of writs, it doesn't change that the rate is still just one columbine per 16 writs. If you consider how much stuff you get out of 16 alchemy writs--the gold from the quest rewards, the mats from the satchels and the surveys--one measly columbine is nothing in comparison. I do a lot of writs too, and I'm always happy when it's essence of health because it means one fewer split-and-withdraw for me to do. Those add up too, you know.

I'm always impressed by the amazing suggestions and small changes that the community recommends. Duh! Yea. Change the color of the potions to match the scheme of other crafts. Or easier yet, just change the name of tripots. So smart!

I've seen hundreds of really GREAT ideas that would take the tiniest bit of coding to change.

If ESO had all these small changes, it would be such a grand game!

It's not a solution to the problem but I recommend Crafted Potions addon to at least color your potions so you know:

    White: Looted potion.
    Green: Crafted with one bonus.
    Blue: Crafted with two bonuses.
    Purple: Crafted with three bonuses.

Oh lol. Someone already posted all of this.

Crafted potions should definitely be green. The reagents are all green, after all.
I suggested in another thread that it would be nice if potion names would be different for potions with multiple effects.

Like __ of Health can be just a healing potion or one that restores health/magicka and stanima, making it so you have to hover over to see which is which.
The strange thing is, this already exists to some extent. Some multi-effect potions exist in the data files, and they have different names. But these don't usually exist in-game (most bought/dropped pots are single-effect), and the names don't transfer to crafted pots. Even some of the colours are different.
    • Health, Armor, Spell Resist: __ of Defense (not actually a possible combination, red)
    • Health, Magicka, Stamina: __ of Rejuvenation (standard resto tri-pot, orange)
    • Magicka, Spell Power, Weapon Crit: __ of Spell Blade (not actually a possible combination, yellow)
    • Magicka, Spell Power, Spell Crit: __ of Spell Weaving (standard magicka tri-pot, blue)
    • Stamina, Weapon Power, Weapon Crit: __ of Strength (standard stamina tri-pot, green)

    Greetings,
