Why has everything became possible to get in blue in normal mode except for MA weapons???

I hate malestrom arena its the most non enjoyable annoying thing they could have ever made.

I'm forced to play solo for days, its so difficult not to mention horrible drops, its a complete pure waste of time.
Now since they are adding blue versions for every other set in the game in normal mode they should to the same with malestrom arena, most people hate it and will never do it on veteran and no other way to get these BiS weapons.

Now sets lile VO and IA which are BiS drop in normal Trails not to mention all other dungeon sets, the same shuold be done with malestrom weapons and leave veteran for leaderboards and competition. Ofc the drop rates should be decreased on normal, but it should be an available option.

Incorrect: You also don't get DSA weapons or Monster masks in Normal.

And, no, it absolutely should not be an option. vMA is aspirational content, and the weapons are the exclusive reward of vMA. nMA is a joke and even a level 3 can beat it (I've done it). And it's good that there are still some things in this game that are skill-gated and not rewarded as mere participation prizes.

Virtually everyone who has beaten vMA had to suffer for their first clears. My first clear took over a hundred deaths (not counting the many deaths in my previous attempts--there was no save feature back then). Yes, it was painful and frustrating, but that's what made it worthwhile. Everyone goes through it. If you want those weapons, you have to as well.

From my casual perspective: normal Maelstrom Arena is so easy that it would feel wrong to get BiS weapons for completing it. One Tamriel already gave us many great sets accessible to ordinary players, I don't think it's necessary to be handed everything just for showing up.

If it dropped in blue from normal, you could upgrade it to gold, and there would be no reason for anyone to run vet mode anymore. No...just no.

If you don't want pull your hair out over it, then don't do it. I know people who are perfectly good DPS who have never touched vMA because that's just not their cup of tea. You can do everything in the game without vMA weapons--they're bonuses that you have to work for to get. You can't choose to seek a difficult reward and then complain that it's too difficult.

People did veteran trials before they even its items dropped in cp160, people still do veteran trials now even though they can get blue items in normal.

There are leader-boards and higher chances to get better items in better quality on harder modes, but let the people who want to play for fun have access to these items too.

I imagine the amount of people who don't even try vMA now, imagine if there were a small chance for the weapons?
Same with trials, most people didnt even know they were there till they were scaled to 160 and stated to drop 160 gear on normal mode.

Content should be made to get played not to torture players, those who want to torture themselves will always have that option for better quality gear and higher drop rate

Personally I could care less, the content isn't all that fun to me combine that with the idea of solo content containing bis weapons in an MMO and absolutely horrible rng and well I just can't bring myself to run it any longer. Wouldn't matter if weapons dropped on normal or not I just can't be bothered wasting my life in that place.

What I would much rather see is equal or even better weapons being added as drops in vet trials.

Nobody is forcing you to torture yourself.

But the best weapons are reserved for best players.
Prove you are worthy of them.

Seriously, when I see somebody having a Maelstrom weapon, I instantly know this is a great player.
And no, the weapon is not the thing that makes him great.

doing solo content for the best pvp and pve weapons is a very stupid idea

    LOL.

If you really believe a person that beat vMA will suck at group PvE, I guess you have zero insight into how this game works.
I don't value the Weapon he has, I value his vMA title (experience). He can wear Queen's Elegance swords for all I care.

You don't deserve a Maelstrom Weapon, simple as that.

Even if you somehow managed to get your hands on one, you would still be a bad player.

I agree, the few people I know who have completed VMA, are great in groups. The weapons are nice, but the experience is key. Vma forces you to be a great player, or you don't succeed.

Lol have you beaten vma? If not how can you say what kind of player is able to beat it. More than likely if they have beaten vma they can hold their own in any content.

If you want the weapons go beat vma, not everything is given for participation. Took me forever to beat it, but once I did I was glad I stuck with it.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Now this is entirely false. If you can take care of yourself by yourself, then when you have a healer and a tank dedicated to protecting you so you can just stand there and DPS the hell out of the boss while moving occasionally for some mechanics.

From the moment you said you didn't do vMA and asked for the weapons to be given on normal mode, I stopped taking your post seriously. Tbh after your 10th time doing it, it takes less than 1 hours. After 30 runs it takes around 45 minutes. You have no excuse not to do it to get your vMA weapons. If you don't want to do it, you don't get the vMA weapons. Stop trying to find the easy way, do it like EVERYONE ELS or don't do it at all.

I'm not a fan of vMA. It's a game of Simon, memorize what's going to happen and recreate run after run after run. It's tedious and boring. I'd rather react than repeat. It requires willingness to learn a game rather then play it. Not putting down those that like or enjoy it, and definitely not those capable of completing it. It's just not my cup of tea.

That being said if MA weapons were to drop in normal i think they would need to be cp150 at best. maybe even cp140 depending on the scaling, but this would probably make them not worth using.

I think there needs to be another way to get MA and Master weapons. I think there should be a Token system and vendor created so you can trade in BOP drops from dungeons and Trials for tokens to spend on items you're not getting. This insure you're getting rewarded for doing content, though it should require a good deal of tokens to obtain. Dungeon set drops (purple) armor should cost like 25 tokens, Weapons 50 tokens, Jewelry 100 , monster helms 125, and MA/Masters 1000. Trading in purple gear should earn you 1 token, weapons 1 tokens, jewelry 1 tokens, Monster helms 1 token, and MA/Masters weapons and Gold jewelry should give you 25 tokens.

I also think it's BS that sets that drop in both Overland AND in dungeons are bound when they drop from dungeons and free to sell and profit from in Overland. I see purple Senche Rings in guild stores, but I had to vendor the ones I get from dungeons since they're bound and I've already go a set. Why? The incentive for dungeons is get what you need an never go back and to never go unless you need something that specifically drops there. The Token system would give you a reason to run pledges/dungeons when the drops won't benefit you.

Ok, these whiny posts are getting old. Just suck it up and do the content. Its really not that bad once you learn the recipe, its all about learning the mechanics. Terrible rng aside, the weapons are a reward for doing this vet content. I could care less about the title and leaderboards, but the weapons ARE earned.

    Meh I hate vMA too. Did it twice. Got trash. Realised it was *** cos I didn't play eso to play solo. So I dealt with it by;

    1. Made a leet meta tank with masters sword. Every1 needs tanks and tanks don't need MA wepz. In fact bis is masters sword.

    2. Made magicka toons. Most people just slot Ma staves on back bar and it dosent add all that much of dps anyway. Still pull 35k no overload on sorc.

So yeah.. You can still be competitive without vMA wepz. I don't see why ZOS has an insane fetish for arena type stuff that lasts for 2 hrs. I mean I'm okay with vDSA cos at least ur on ts with friends talking and stuff for that 1-1.5 hrs but vMA is just painful. I don't like it. Won't do it. Don't really care if I ever get vMA wepz in sharpened cos I can't be f'ed to grind some 1.5 hr arena that is solo. Why they ever made BIS wepz drop in a SOLO arena in an MMO is well beyond me.

I love the mentality of " just cause i suffered everyone else has to suffer too". If you want to torture yourself then play Veteran MA, personally I play to have fun not torture myself.

Nobody is forcing you to torture yourself.

But the best weapons are reserved for best players.
Prove you are worthy of them.

Seriously, when I see somebody having a Maelstrom weapon, I instantly know this is a great player.
And no, the weapon is not the thing that makes him great.

Great player at solo content /= great player in group content, the only reason you should want a player with a malestrom weapon in your party is because of his malestrom weapon, he might suck at group content or have good self sustain but not very high dps.

doing solo content for the best pvp and pve weapons is a very stupid idea

With all due respect you couldn't possibly be more wrong here...

There are equal if not more mechanics thrown at you in vma than most of the v trials. You seem to have convinced yourself that there is some unique only aquire skill via group play that makes vma invalid when comparing players.

Honestly that just suggests insecurity on your part. You may hate the content and chose not to do it, but you realize vma weapons are desireable and you begin to make up scenarios or conciveved realities that difficult end game group play tempers players in a way that vma cannot.

The truth is plain and simple, if you can hold your own in vma, it shows you have both dedication, patience, awareness to mechanics and environment, a keen knowledge of your class/build. All of those qualities are easily and readily interjected into any type of group play.

You are not entitled to the vma weapons so just stop. Suggesting that they are placed in non vma is absurd. They are a trophy as much as they are a bis goal for certain builds.

I am with your idea if the weapons drop in all traits but not sharpened/precise/powered.

Normal Maelstrom is WAAAY too easy to give you blue weapons that can just be upgraded. The gear was upgraded to CP160 in normal because it's crap anyway.
