Cant we buff magicka instead of a stamina nerf?

    It's not just about buffing "magicka," you'd have to also buff the non Maelstrom stamina DPS because these weapons are ridiculously overperforming.

    In essence you want ZoS to change everything just so you can do the same DPS, which in the end will result in same difference in DPS that will happen with the what's in the patch notes.

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    To all those negative comments about not understanding what I mean by not nerfing this.
    We have read about complains of maelstrom RNG grinding for too long, and myself among others have spend our lifes farming maelstrom for those weapons. And due to the progression feeling this game say it has to offer, this nerf is not logical at all.

    Those weapon significantly increase your dps so much so that any other combo for stam pve dps will not even come close.

    People are done with being at the mercy of vma rng to have ccompetitive stam dps and, I'm not just saying that because the forums are literally filled with vma threads about this certain topic on a daily basis.

    I don't see what the problem is.. they're still bis just more balanced.

    Wait... is this part new in PTS too? I can probably live with the maelstrom nerf, but not the traps as its quite a significant part of dps.

    My stam dk had 42% dots that were buffed with cruel flurry, and it will be 28% without traps. And now if you remove the claw out of that (non dk stam users) whats the point of maelstrom dual wield?

    better to nerf it with optimal with control before all buffs go to far and gap between expl ann no exp player will be 5x bigger, then new dungs etc and almost nobody "radnom from zone" will be albo to done it, same hard thing like vMoL only for elite

    I am fully aware that stamina is dominating atm. But is nerfing the only solution? I have spent my life farming the maelstrom daggers in best trait, and spend even more time getting a perfect rotation going automaticly. It requires alot of practice and long sustained single target fight, to make theese weapons have their full benefit. Is really a nerf needed? Cant we rather get a magicka buff?

    To get lower dps after a patch, really does take the progress feeling away. Last time I felt this, was when I was sitting at 550 cp, fair and well earned when orsinium got released, ruining by the 501 cap due to exploit grinders and lazy whiners, who only want to complain in this game rather then actually bring something good to the community. Now we have those stubborn magicka users, who refuse to reroll or try stam, becasue reason. And btw, magicka isnt that weak as you all think, the best guilds still complete all hardmodes with magicka DD's. I really dont understand this nerf to maelstrom flurry at all.
    Yes, I agree everyone should be able to do ridiculous damage that allows us to ignore mechanics in PvE and kill people with 28K health before they can break a 2 second stun in PvP. <sarcasm>

    Stamina needs to be nerfed. leave magick alone. The game is already too easy nothing, will be a challenge if we keep buffing everything

    The NPC are maxed at 160 with players at 500+ with ZoS comfirmimgbthat the armor max will not be raised soon it will get easier every update.

    If yall don't want your MMO to completely lose it's community like GW2 did. When ANet decided to do just what @TheHsN is trying to get yall to do. GW2 has pretty much lost all of it's WvW and sPvP communities. Just only the course of a Expansion.

    Why yall may ask. I'll gladly tell yall why. ANet release HoT X-Pac in the way yall are now trying to push stamina down everyone's throat. People complained about things being not balance with the new X-Pack. What did ANet do afterwards. They buff the X-Pack's specialization lines even more to create the power creep. People complain even more because now in ANet's quest to sell HoT they created so much power creep that you had two sides of a extreme. Either you was super tanky with the Boon Share meta, or you did supremely high AOE damage cleaves. Both sides of the extremes took no skill to utilize. All you needed to do is copy paste a metabattle.com build and your guild was good to go.

    ANet didn't make sales from the other X-Packs features. So ANet started to rotate 1 class that was going to be retardedly overpowered. 2 to 3 classes that was meh. And the rest was just easy mode spam to win type mechanics. The competitive community of GW2 started to leave the game at a alarming rate. All because ANet keep adding more and more power creep, to convince new players to buy the HoT X-Pack.

    GW2 went from being a super crowded game. To now a ghost town in all but EU and NA prime TZ's. Even players in those TZs are getting thinner and thinner. Because lets face it. If we wanted to play a multi-player game where you can just pretty much press one button. Most of us would play CoD instead. CoD offers much better combat in those regards.

    So in conclusion ANet added so much Power Creep. In order to keep it's X-Pack super powerful to keep it's market value high. While lowering the skill and interest in their sPvP and WvW game modes. That players simply got completely bored and left. Which ESO will suffer the same fate should ZOS continue to listen to players like @TheHsN . Stamina classes and builds just needs a blanket nerf across the board. Once that happen players might actually find that Magicka don't even need to be buffed at that point. Plus with TTK lower. Things will come out of the purely twitch FPS combat realm, and back into the MMO tactical combat realm. It'll eventually be a win for all parties in question.

    We Could totally just unerf Magic & allow everyone to play in there 'glory' day then it'll be exposed what's the real problem down to the base game design.
    Snip Snip, patch patch, Game fixed.
    Everyone's happy because they know their not gimped from playing at their full potential. (though it'll be a death sentence if you take off that Roll dodge cap, just don't touch stamina.)
    This way people don't have to feel like there class is getting gimped & are free to fairly explore what play style they like without having to worry about it being close to unusable.

    At least it will provide an easy temporary solution to preserve the player base before one-handed magic sticks come out to provide a more stable solution. Seeing especially how you should really put warden on the back burner, as classes you have out now aren't even balanced.

    As someone who mains stam, i'd rather they just nerfed stam.. the power creep in this game is real.

    This game is in the hole it is in because it has tried to solve too many of its problems with buffs. I would much rather see all of the classes brought to the current mSorc level or maybe even all the way on to mDK level. And much of this needs to be done through nerfs to weapon and armor sets.

    They cleaned up bugs and brought Maelstrom's Cruel Flurry to a reasonable (still high) Damage buff. MA Duel Wield is still BiS, but now allows other builds to be viable without them. This is very good.

    I knew there would be crying about this change. What's sad about it all is that some consider this is be some giant Stamina nerf, when in fact ZOS simply made a great change fixing some weapons that were severely overperforming.

    Cruel Flurry is STILL very powerful. They are no longer the weapons you need to even be considered by Vet groups as Stam anymore though. RNG no longer plays such a big role in you having Vet trial viable DPS.

    Stamina is strong no doubt about it.

    I just wish they would cease with silly sets that blow something even close to balance out the window, not just the stam dps sets either.

    You know everyone thinks 99% of the pvp population is wearing something over performing, so they respond with high dps, boring longevity or it some case both. The trouble is, its not 99% , not everyone is in HA, get stacked healing buffs and chugging vitality pots, has sets doing high dps just for breathing but still has 3-4k WD unbuffed.

    tongue in cheek- re-roll stamina, the canceling is so much easier and well so is the killing stuffs and did you know it magicka that's killing network and GPU performance

    its a subtle hint

    I 100% agree with this nerf, it was needed and is a step in the right direction.

    MSA 1h's are still going to be BIS , they nerf wasn't too extreme.

    You can't just keep buffing everything that is what lead to the horrible pvp we have now, your either bursty or tanky via healing/s&b.

    Stamina is still going to be better than magicka.

    Jokes aside, balance affects PVE too. Nothing can compete in raw DPS with a proper stam character running these weapons. I have said many times that I am largely okay with close melee stam builds pulling more DPS than a ranged magic counterpart because its harder to play, but the gap is probably too big at the moment. This IMO is a reasonable nerf. It will bring them back to reality, but still leave them BIS. It will also help make end game PVE content competitive with all classes and specs, which is just as important in PVE as it is in PVP.

    magicka is def lackluster...except on magplar. I feel fine there.
