Can anyone who has access to the PTS tell me if the jewlery for this set only comes in healthy or is also available in arcane and robust? Thanks.

I only found one piece of jewelry in the wild and it was Healthy. Small sample set, of course. I did find dozens of pieces of armor and weapons, though, and they are all Training. So if you are looking for Arcane and Robust jewelry to min/max an endgame hybrid build, you will have to run at least 2 pieces of Training gear to get the 5-set bonus. I see no way to min/max this set. It truly is exclusively for brand new characters that are still leveling.

I got over 15 pieces from chests but not one jewellry. Every part in training though

there's a reason it only drops in the starter areas (although you could debate there is no such thing anymore in One Tamriel).. it is meant to help out new players, and for new players that are leveling, training can be useful

I suppose, I guess I wouldn't mind running 2 training and 5 Impen if I can get the Jewelery, but I'm not 100% sure that they only come in healthy as the set drops in medium light and heavy.

I've had a ring drop in arcane. While the non-jewelry pieces of it that drop from random mobs and chests may all be training, the pieces you get as quest rewards for completing quests on the starter islands are in various different traits.

That aside, whether this set is useful at all for max-level characters is completely irrelevant when determining if the set is useless, because that's not who the set is meant for. It's intended to give a boost to brand spanking new players, and it's great for that.

We got a powerful set like this, and it only drops in healthy and training? Wth ZOS!

What's the point? Armor of the "Trainee" does not have to drop in TRAINING AND HEALTHY WHEN CP160!!!

    CP160 = NO TRAINING/PROSPEROUS DROPS

Nonsense. It's a training set. Says so in the name. And as you mention, it's a powerful set, which is exactly why it should only be available in Training. The tradeoff for having a set that gives such a large bonus is that it's restricted to the beginners for which it was intended.

It's a Heavy Armor set, and isn't that amazing. It's strong, yes. But nothing insane.

If it drops at CP160, chances are it does not need to be in Training any longer.

That's not it. Some people think it's a nice set that would allow some interesting synergies. I would instantly use this.
Trainee and using magicka+regen drink instead of magicka+health food.

Having 2 training pieces is not the end of the world, since I was forced to play with 5 sturdy necropotence for years. But it's still a bit sad :)

But the more possibilities of having traits that are useful for end game purposes, the less often that the low level players, who are the target players of this set, will get drops with the traits that are immediately useful to them. For example, divine would be nonsensical since there are not even any Mundus stones in the starter islands.

The real solution for the trait roulette would be the ability to re-trait through crafting. But until we have that, at least this set has a better chance to drop with traits that are good for the target group of players - it's a step in the right direction. Making it drop with any and all traits wouldn't be.

The mace and tunic is quest rewards, they hold the original trait that dropped prepatch, like ratsplatter mace you get for clearing out the rats in kenarthis roost.

So a well fitted light armor piece is the only non-training peace that can be achieved ?

No. If you read my post earlier in this thread it comes in various different traits from different quest rewards. The dropped pieces that come from mobs and chests are all training. The pieces that are quest rewards are different traits, depending on the quest you got it from. Probably about half the quests on the starter islands give you trainee pieces.

Yeah no but thanks for not paying attention, as for your trolling grade you come away with a C.

This set is a strong set at all levels.

Players at higher levels and capable of theory crafting could use this to make some very I tersting buid combinations.

As it sits on test right now players who are CP160 and have skipped starter zone quests can go back at CP 160 and RNG farm the quests for inflated prices for set pieces with better traits or weapons with better traits and sell them at an inflated value.

The easiest fix is to allow the armor to be found in all traits or fix the quest rewards to only drop training.

I personally would prefer it come in all traits as this is a very nice set to farm out in CP160.

Or add the armor to he loot tables of all the first zones not just starter zones in any trait and weight.

Or make it a 9 trait craftable set with crafting stations in starter zones I would be ok with that to.

Edit: nine trait craftable plus being available in starter zones

You can get the jewlery in any trait, you can get heavy tunic in reinforced, one handed sword in sharpened, dagger in precise or sharpened, restoration staff in powered, medium tunic in well fitted and 1h mace in precise. There also a few 2h weps in charged trait, like an axe and a sword if i remember correct. Shield in reinforced.

Thats at the top of my head, plenty of pieces to build it for 5set for endgame with good enough traits.

I, for one, am greatly amused that they made a set called Trainee, made it kinda OP, then made it really only good for literal training.

As far as I'm concerned, A+. Not everything is about endgame.

And this is exactly why the trait should be locked as Training. They can either leave the stats on this set as-is and make it useful for newcomers and lock the trait at training to discourage endgame players from taking advantage of these large stat bonuses.

Or they can tone down the bonuses so that it doesn't become too strong at endgame--esp. since all the stats offered by this set are amped by CP--but in the process making it not as good for its original intended audience.

Endgame players are not the intended audience of this set. The trait is their way of enforcing that intent.

Look at all the sets in this release that are not well-balanced and the broken builds that people are already coming up with. Everyone's crying for balance, but here, where there is a good balance, we have people like you clamoring for the removal of those safeguards. There is good merit to them discouraging this set's use in the endgame.

Gotta run 3 green 2 yellow which hurts the set bonuses similar to wearing 5 piece blue, plus you lose another 150 stam from 3 green robust. Stats are still really good despite this but other sets end up being more appealing in builds, except maybe blocking magicka builds.
