I promised myself I would stay away of this topic, but I passed here just to congratulate you for being smart to the point of being able to see outside the box and understand my point. You know, it's funny actually that you say this. While many may not like to admit it, a lot of what you said holds a lot of truth and weight of worth

Having bought the game and content, I should be able to play it, I cannot actively stop someones game progression in PvE, why should PvP be different? Sure, have alliance wars, but perhaps incorporating a neutral alliance (can neither attack or be attacked) would suffice

PvP'ers don't realize that, basically, they're virtual homicidal. Yes, you're, shut up and accept it. They see a player and just because it's from a different color, they go and kill. Worse! They seem to not have a real life or they're just very rich to not do anything the whole day just to sit there at common entrances to gank players.
PvP'ers never consider the possibility of a casual player that's just following the story, hunting skyshards or even random achievements.
Say that other DLCs don't have anything for them is a filthy lie. If not for other DLCs they wouldn't have their PvP gear. Let's go to a more basic aspect: They wouldn't have cash to buy potions they use badly in their PvP battles (I doubt they would prefer those crap potions from Cyrodiil vendor for Alliance Pints instead of a tri-pot).
Fine, not every DLC has something for them but the only PvP DLC (so far) does have a PvE side that a PvE'er just can't complete. But the PvE side of the others DLCs not only doesn't interfere, but also help the PvP community, directly or not. For example, motif hunting! A LOT of PvE'rs wants them all, to collect or to be a dedicated crafter, but I've seen with my own eyes PvP'ers scalling down tough dungeons/trials to get easily things that honest players would sweat for.
What? You're so adept of PvP that you can't learn how to do things properly? What's the word very oftely thrown at our faces.... oh yeah, L2P instead of cheat. This is cheat and I don't *** care with your opinion.
This is not only unfair but also messes with market prices because the honest players can't put a higher price in something rare, because tons of PvP'ers (although they don't admit) filled the Guild Stores with then cheap (relatively speaking).
We pay 100% of a product to use just 50% (barely). And just when the sales are getting low, the company gives a big discount that doesn't solve a *** and even paying less, we still can use half of the product (barely).
And now an addicted PvP might quote me on that saying they paid 100% for all mostly PvE content they're not fully enjoying... Well, when (and if) you bought a PvE DLC, you were aware it wouldn't be PvP-focused. I don't know the others, but I was hoodwinked. I didn't find information saying "hey, moron! you may not be able to enjoy the PvE side of this *** at all".
If you feel you're not enjoying a PvE DLC that you knew it wouldn't have PvP content, it's because YOU don't want, differently of us that really wanted to follow the questline, read the story and feel the PvE side of the DLC and we just can't.
I don't know how things are in USA, but in my country, a rascal lawyer could stuff a judicial process in ZOS' throat.
You know, it's funny actually that you say this. While many may not like to admit it, a lot of what you said holds a lot of truth and weight of worth.
I've seen many times while riding by someone fishing, only for a Nightblade to ambush and kill them. And they were just a Lv.14 or something; minding their business. Naturally a defense for this type of behavior would be, "Go to a more empty campaign to fish." or "What did you expect, you're in a PVP zone. Expect to be attacked at any given moment." But, is that really a solid defense for that type of maniacal bahvior? Is it really...? Just for a few hundred or maybe 1k AP, do you feel as a PVP'er cool that you "ganked" a low-leveled player who was just out fishing? And not just fishing, but maybe just questing and gathering crafting materials.
Would I farm in Cyrodiil? No. But still, some people choose to do so. And they clearly aren't out and about bothering anyone, so why go and mess with them for? Why not let the people go fish and farm materials in peace? Oh right, because it's a "PVP Zone". Meaning anything of an opposite faction is a kill-on-sight, unless they're a guild buddy or someone you're trading emperor with. =\
I had the skin and scamp already from IC's early days where Molag random groups were forming at all hours, and went back in this occasion to get enough Tel Var for the polymorphs.
I ran with random people in the sewers, with random people in the districts, with guildies, and by myself - and had fun, even as a carebear solo pve player. Possibly because I chose to take it lightly and ignore nasty people.
Now though... reading this thread, with people treating players like me as if we were cattle, I do feel a bit sad - for them, for failing to see the humanity in others. It's fine to be ganked and bombed, some player killers are courteous and admit it's nothing personal (see above comment from @Typhoios ). It's ok to be killed in a pvp zone, really.
Some people are just beyond toxic though - those, I ignore as if they were a pesky boss I'd rather not aggro.

Very well said. Very well said indeed.

Continuation down this path of being a greedy gimp, i will just relog my other toon and farm them out of IC.
1 - I don't care about you and your team. There's a design in this game, you can't tweak it to suit your personal needs.
2 - I know you're not the helping kind anyway.
3 - These players are kind (unlike you). You don't deserve it.
4 - I sure wish most players, after you've displayed such an attitude, will make a point in following you everywhere and tagging all your mobs.
5 - Ohhhh... I'm scaaaaared... catch me if you can.

You're damn right, and I should have done the same.
I was looking forward to this event and I first thought "wow, this is how IC has always been meant to be played" : small groups, hide-and-seek tactics, gankers on top. Giant zerg chaos in the center underground.
Unfortunately, that did not last long.
- PvPers organizing DUELS !! In there, this week !! With their "personal bodyguards" killing anyone else on sight (poor souls just wanted to help their same-colour-buddy"...). Guys, you have ALL OF CYRO for duelling. GTFO of IC with it. And killing people who just join the fight to help is not fair.
- New form of entitlement regarding district bosses. They drop A LOT of stones, people don't want to share stones, so they want to solo those bosses. If you dare to even cast a mutagen near them, you'll be drowned in insults and accused of leeching. Guys, you know those are group bosses, right ? And you also know they are not "your own private mobs", right ? (If that happens to you, make sure you stick to the guy at all times for the next two hours, tagging all mobs along with him. Depending on your taste, you might or might not put him on ignore beforehand). This is a MMO, these are group mobs meant to be attacked in group.
- Too big groups on Molag Bal, which attract the zergbombers (that's fair), and dilute the loot. Staying there for two hours for looting once is not fun.
I'll wait for next week to go back there, in the hope to find again the usual "IC morning atmosphere" : nice PvE + random 1v1 PvP where anything can happen, and where your opponent might be of any level.
But I've lost most if not all respect for PvPers, probably forever. When I compare what I experienced in IC these past few days, with the nice, extremely organized and friendly cooperation that happens every single day for world bosses in Worthgar or Gold Coast, this is just night and day.

This has been happening me and my friend a lot. We 2 man the bosses for a massive telvar gain and finding more and more greedy randoms coming over when boss is under 30% or lower health and taptaptap to act a goat. I accept a lot of new players coming here for event after all, i whisper them and simply say, more people less telvar for us. Since they bring almost nothing to the table for my and my friend as we are self sufficient, they weigh us down in many aspects. Drawing agro of mobs, spawning more boss aoe, dying a load of times and end up me and my friend sometimes -5k Telvar per boss.
A wack of people just follow us around and we waste time in losing them, so we can play as a 2 man team. Problem is these randoms dont farm bosses, dont start them but if they see us successfully doing them they are straight over like flies around dirt, i have no respect for that game play.
As an EP to an EP, i cant stop him doing this, other than explaining he is acting a tool. Continue to bait me by acting above i will just log my DC alt and farm the goats following my mate.
Well, the truth is, you have no right over that mob, and those people aren't behaving like fools, they're behaving like normal players and play the game as intended. They probably even genuinely think they're helping you. If you want to solo or duo those bosses for max tel var, fine, sometimes you'll get lucky and noone else will be there, sometimes other people will turn up and you'll get less stones. That's how it is, and it's not other people's fault.
Your level of entitlement is unbelievable.
Im kinda confused. I can understand most of your concerns. I just have trouble connecting that one sentence out of all your complaints to the last paragraph (both bolded).anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »- PvPers organizing DUELS !! In there, this week !! 2 PvE-ers arguing about PvE..... PvP players get blamed...... *throws hands up*

OK, I'll try and explain more clearly.
Situation 1
I'm in IC, I'm blue.
I see another blue fighting a district boss, alone and apparently in trouble. Of course I jump in to help him. The boss dies, and immediately I receive tells (whispers are off so people have to use tells) saying "get the f*** out of my way you filthy PvE carebear, stop leeching my tel var stones you're disgusting".
Situation2
I'm in IC, I'm blue.
I see another blue fighting a red, alone and apparently in trouble. Of course I jump in to help. The blue stops fighting the red, another red hidden nearby jumps in too and the two reds kill me quickly. Once I'm dead, first red and blue resume their fighting and second red goes back to the shadows. I stay there dead for a while to watch, only to witness every other blue coming along get slaughtered the same way I was, just for wanting to help. Also worth mentioning that it happened right at the entrance of the blue exit of the sewers.
Both situations occurred repeatedly since IC revived due to the event, and none of these conform to the actual game design. None of these have anything to do with "that's a PvP zone, if you don't like it don't enter". But both situations are organized by PvPers. Thus my disrespect and disgust. I don't mind being killed, I don't mind being ganked, but I do mind these behaviours.
(The Molag Bal zerging is yet another reason for avoiding IC this week, but I agree it has nothing to do with PvPers, rather the opposite).
Ah that's a little clearer... For the first situation, it could have very well been a PvE-er who just wanted to tick you off. Most PvP-ers including myself have no love for doing boss-farms.
As for situation two, most of us try to avoid high traffic areas like doors or entrances etc. Those guys were being pricks. You run into more pricks often in IC cos every1 is forced into a small zone therby making probability of encountering trolls higher. Call a few people in zone chat and go steam roll them. They will quickly learn their lesson to avoid trying to duel when near entrances and exits lol. The most common PvP duel areas are arena and memorial. Most of the time its blatantly obvious with multiple color players standing around in a group.
Also... I have no idea what the diff is between whisper and tell LOL =X Like i know I use /w @_____ to whisper someone and text is light blue.. Is a tell the same thing?
