I was in IC last night on two different servers... one that had almost zero of my alliance on except for the team of 5 NBs I was in.... and the other server was swarming with a zerg army of players in my alliance. Both were thirsty AF for Molag's Bals as was I (I need that skin). Literally didn't get one reward from killing him except for the cool Dye and a few thousand stones. Happy as a clam and had an amazing time in both server instances. I have to say this change has been highly positive from my perspective and I only spend an hour or two doing it since it was a school night lol. So far I like the change ZOS.

I am a PvE'r and don't really care for PvP. I can understand people's interest, I just don't share them.

With that said, I still really enjoy Imperial City. I enjoy the PvE aspects, and the PvP in the city is usually small scale enough that I find it very fun.

I don't really like the sewers portion so much. But I am okay with that, the top is fun enough.

I am avoiding Imperial City like the plague this week, though. I want to still enjoy it next week, so that means not doing it right now.

Went to IC maybe twice when it first came out and just did not find it fun. Went back again for the IC event and found it miserable. Waited in queue for an hour. Got in, got killed, experienced a bug where I could not rezz, had to reboot to get out. Back in queue of 122! In the midst of that lost the few stones I had. I don't 1v1 and getting tanked is not my idea of a good time. Not fun. Probably won't go back.

I really liked Imperial City, I played it deeply by the time the thieves guild released (even though I bought it when IC released). It was so deserted I actually enjoyed every part of it. That is beofre the big changes also came. I was able to easily farm a full willpower accesory set, and get enough tel var to buy vet 16 materials to make max gear (back then it was vet 16). cleeared everything and I liked doing the dailies there.

Ocasionally I'd get killed by some sweaty try-hard but since I always banked my tel vars never lost more than 200 or so and since i didn't care if I died I just let those sweaties kill me, eventually they got bored of killing me and moved on.

But after these changes I've been reading. I don't think I'll be back to Imperial City for a while. I'll just wait till all the hype dies down.

No one here seems to appreciate the hunt in IC. Nothing beats being a vamp magblade and sprinting in sneak. Seeing noobs gobble up mobs only to proxy, soul tether, sap combo them down and take half thier hard work.

Should have been double ap though too. I've. Made so much tv I'm going to be loaded just buying up sets and selling them. Bought a polymorph too. Going to try and sell it for 100k.

Plus...2 robust agility rings in 1 chest. Got 3 this week now. After the pain of trying to get the skin and scamp this is pretty fun now. Just rinsing all the farmers.

In all honesty, the event has brought IC back to what it is supposed to be: a PVP zone with the added flavor of NPC mobs, not the other way around. Prior to this IC was basically a PVE zone where you could get ganked. Pointless.

I'm a PVPer and Imperal City is my favorite part of ESO. I mean, I brought the damn thing twice, just for the Horse and Skin. The Xivkyn polymorphs are epic and the currency gives you something to lose.

I'm also an ESO Plus member that is always spending on the Crown Store, trust me, PVEers arnt the only ones helping support the game.

Its moronic. The devs need a rethink of this one...

    1) You need to have a direct wayshrine into the sewer base.

    2) There needs to be a strictly PVE only version of it.

Worst argument ever. This is not a P2W game, if you payed for a content and you are not up to the challenge, the problem is you, no the content. Is like complaining that you bought orsinium but you can't complete vMA, or that you bought thieves guild but you can't complete vMoL, and you should be able because you paid for it.

If PvP is not your thing, then don't buy PvP DLC's, simple as that (is the only pvp DLC that this game have, and probably we won't get another PvP DLC ever). It have a PvE side? yes is secondary and mixed in a Open World PvP enviorment, like delves in cyrodrill. Is not PvE content, period.

    1) IC should be outside cyrodrill, that will solve the problem of having multiple instances of it (the main reason why IC almost always empty). People go to farm to empty campains to avoid having to PvP at all, that kills the entire concept of telvars and the risk-reward involved with carry them.

    2) No, is PvP Content. If you don't like PvP, don't play it, as i do with those boring PvE quest lines that they released on TG and DB DLC's.

Stop being a crybaby, instead of asking everything lend to you with 0 effort, put the time and the effort to become good at PvP and you will see how good IC can actually be.

Er, a "a PvE zone where you could get ganked" is ENTIRELY what Imperial City is.

Molag Bal is PvE. The only source of Telvar is PvE. All the dailies are PvE (The lonely Bounty Board is infinite, as far as I know). At launch it was busy, at present it's busy, but in the meanwhile it's mostly been a relatively empty wasteland with a handful of PvPers and a bunch of farmers. That's not due to the DLC not selling, it's simply a gankers paradise who benefit from other player's work so the PvErs avoid it after getting frustrated.

"A PvP zone with the added flavor of NPC mobs" is what Cryodiil is, easy to forgot when you're rushing between castles I know but there's NPC's all over the place and stuffed inside each castle. Now I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but don't pretend it's not heavily PvE based in content because it is.

The main draw for Imperial City PvP is, to be honest, the fact there's also easily-killed PvE'rs to exploit. Unless you enjoy the type of PvP Imperial City has, where killing someone in an area their faction owns has them charging back in 2-10 seconds because they can spawn there. Flag spawn timer is too low, in my opinion, so if your faction is winning death has no real consequence. If you're losing you're in for a climb and a walk each death.

    ED blows...

I like the flags. I think it's breathed new life into IC.

Prior, IC was pretty low pop with a high chance at getting ganked from the few players that were actually there. No real uptick for trying to farm/quest/pvp there. Now, it's bustling (even before this event) and the smaller scale (generally) pvp is more enjoyable than Cyrozerg.

    Yeah it's really that bad.

It's never been great - but this, you're right, has made it worse. Just like the capture the flag bs that was introduced did. At least before that all the PVPers would hang out in the Arena district - now the d-baggery has been dissipated throughout the entire city.

We pay for this content - but can't use it. The majority of the game is strictly pve yet you still want the only pvp dlc released to be made pve as well. Don't like dying in a pvp area, then don't pvp.
Lots of peopl detest pve and still do it, why complain about something that is optional for you.

IC is a pvp DLC and even if I do see what you mean as we can figure out there ain't enough room for everyone up there, it was still a pretty painfull expansion to play at launch (lot of pvp vs. pve issue for regular pve'rs). But I really don't think you should judge the new concept they brought up with that single event.

This event is even harder for pve'rs as they were never winning in IC, pvp'rs always had the upper hand there. So overall, even if I'm sure there's a lot of people and it is not as fun as regular time in IC which feel really nice in small-man. It's still not Something we should judge the modification on.

    Subjective exaggeration.

Been playing IC on PS4 NA since it's inception. It's not for everyone, but it's a great change from PVP in Cyro and PvE and farming, etc. And the flag capture added a nice new element to it.

I'm sorry that it isn't enjoyable for you. :(

I love that the DLC is so alive right now and I've been having a great time there. There are certainly d-bags lurking about, but just keep in mind that many people like me are there specifically to PvP.

You really need to gear and set your character up for PvP and run with a small group to get the most out of the experience. Don't run in zergs because you will get crappy loot and blown up by bomb-blades constantly.

IC is my favorite part of this game by a wide margin, I hope you give it another shot.

    @Acrolas

That's half the fun. If all you had to do was run back to the sewer base with no fear of enemies, then it would be a boring cakewalk. I'd rather have the risk of loss while making my way back to the base to deposit. Keeps things interesting.

Plus, if I lose half the stones, that's okay. Most of the time they weren't my stones to begin with ;)

In general, I like IC and I don't have any complaints about it. I also like the addition of the flags.

The festival though.. the issue that I have noticed is if players from an alliance are camping molag to try to get the skin, which they are, then players from a different alliance will have to either go to a different campaign or bring a crowd and have a big ole brawl.

Of course I know that this is the nature of IC and I don't have a problem with that. The thought of having a big PvP fight in order to PvE just makes me chuckle.

I sympathize with those who do not like it. At the same time, IC is designed this way and will only appeal to those who like to PvP in a PvE area. I appreciate having a place like IC.

Personally, outside of the whole PVP vs PVE argument, which this kind of thread was always going to end up in, I do tend to agree with the challenge of individual solo players who have subscribed/bought the IC DLC having issues in getting to the Sewers.

One possible way - and obviously this would very much depend on the difficulty/cost/time involved in setting it up, but a portal in your main Cyrodiil city that would allow players at say less than Rank 3 in Alliance war the chance to port in to the Sewers base.

At least this would allow them access and anyone who is over/above/at level 3 should have a fair understanding of what to do to get to the Sewers over land without the portal *shrugs*

Meh, this is so overblown. I've got no idea what this *** about access is. I make all my gold farming the Sewers, and I have made god only knows how many trips to the entrance (>500? Probably in the ballpark). I've never been ganked once trying to get into the sewers. I can recall coming across a random on the way to the lake once. That cost me a whole 5 minutes of game time.

I am considerably below average at PvP, but I really don't see the problems OP sees. I will say that the gankers in the sewers are out in force this week, but it _is_ a 1 year anniversary for the IC release, so I really don't see what the OP is getting at. Should they have done a PvE event to celebrate IC? Not sure what would have made OP happy...

How is controlling a contested resource where you can farm a desire able and purely cosmetic (therefore neither pve or pvp) item or two an issue?

The PVE guys don't need it any more than the pvp guys. Think we in pvp enjoy maelstrom for weapons, or farming trials for viscous ophidian, or relentless farming in pve zones to gold out our pvp gear? Trust me we don't but we put up with it, minus the threads like this one. Yes there's an exception to every rule but I feel pretty confident that there's far more pve whining than pvp.
