Been away for 2 years... what is a FUN character to re-learn the game?

Hi all,
As I said, been away 2 years, I'm sure so much has changed, it will be easier if I just start over, and learn from scratch. My main is 50 so I can pick it's bones, but have no clue how to play it.
I want to take my time, enjoying the PVE aspects, the lore, the quests, the story line. I don't care about max DPS or indestructability. I want to have FUN! A character that can solo well enough, not too "glass cannon", I want to be able to take hits from more than one mob, and not die instantly.
Some form of melee with a bit of range attacks, mostly for pulls. My main (Templar) has medium armor researched, so I'm leaning towards a character wearing medium armor. I'm open to restarting a Templar, it's been so long, all I remember was shield bashing everything to death, before that got nerfed.
I'm a casual player, not interested in power levelling to 50 in a day, week or month for that matter. I want to smell the roses.

Pretty much. When they nerfed my main, the game was too hard to play. I continued to play afterwards for a while, but levelling slowed to a crawl, and wasn't fun anymore. I was bummed, tried other toons, but at the time, stamina builds sucked, and I didn't want to be a Sorcerer, so I went back to a different game.

I think you are overstating it a bit. For what he wants to do, any magicka class will do just fine. Now if he said he wanted the max dps and stats and whatnot, then yes I would agree with you.CP 561- vSO HM - Completed

✭Fun for PvE... I would say magicka DK or NB they will be tough at first but the moves especially when morphed can really wreck a lot of mobs and keep you alive with healing to boot. DK requires more effort than NB tolearn but can do more DPS.PS4 NA

Magblade can be really fun too,but not at the beginning.

Stamdk I find it not as fun as the others.
Mag dk funny too,more than stam dk but less than others.

Interesting. My main is a stamina Templar, level 50, Champion 40. Maybe I should try to pick that toon up, all the respecs are open. I have no idea which skills/morphs to pick, it's been too long.
Maybe I'll start a stamina Templar, to relearn, and then hopefully someday, pick my main back up, or leave him for all the research and crafting, which he has all of them. If I build a new stamplar, I won't have to spec any research/crafting, so that could be extremely helpful.
There is so much to learn, i'm still thinking a new toon is best.0 -

Stamina Templar's are OK. Stamina anything is ok. Stamplars have a decent move is biting jabs. They also have almost unfair healing potential and a cheap class purge but in pvp other classes have funner skills (stamsorc and stamblade). Stamina nightblades stalk and kill other opponents the best that's why they are the most played class.0 -

✭✭Well, magicka isn't the way to go now, unfortunately - even though I'm magicka for life but I haven't played in months, I'm on a break. ✭Most stamina toons run run similar builds but templars have no class ultimates. They do have access to a cheap purge which snares the opponent and allows their heals to be 20% stronger. Other classes have cool things that kill other people better. Survival vs killing.0 -

Stamina blade sounds fun, sounds better for PvP than PvE though. I'll get around to PvP eventually, but no hurry.
How about Thieve's Guild vs the other new one? Assassin's Guild I think it is. I've been away 2 years, it's all new to me!

Puncturing Sweeps (for Aoe damage plus heals),
Dark Flare (massive damage),
Inner Light (constant increase to max magic and spell crit),
Javelin or Elemental Reach(flame) for knockback,
Breath of Life (for heals),

Templar's are the safest all round gameplay, magica or stam in PvP or PvE: To be more competitive stay Stam, to contribute more to groups PvE or PvP go magic. (Probably getting you into groups faster.)
Stam NightBlades are the most competitive Dps in the game as of now. (Might change One Tamrial)
& Storcks, Might the funnest things running in cyrodiil right now.
Though magic Sorcs are dead next patch if they don't implement the Dual wand concept.0
