Ability Cost Increase...

    No there is something up on pts. Myself and many I play with have all expressed feeling it. Resources through regen or cost increases has changed intended or unintended and it's a problem.

    There was nothing mentioned in the patch notes.
    My characters are not yet copied (PC EU), so cannot really see for myself, but I will do some base value checks with new characters.

    I checked some values on PTS

    What I see is that the base recoveries and the base ability costs are the same for many Mag and Sta abilities...

    except the Fighter guild abilities where the costs have been increased with roughly 25%.
    Not only the Ultimate, but also the 4 normal abilities.

    Hope this isn't intened. Class balance wise templars already have way more resource problems then other classes. Race balance wise this would push even more towards sustain races. No more imperial magplars eg.

    As a Khajiit magplar tank, I can tell you the opposite actually happened. I got far more out of my cost reduction and used alot less magicka than is normal. If anything I think this is just confirmation on what we allready know, it's now no longer possible to skirt the line between sustain and damage. Gonna have to give up some damage. And that's okay.

    I actually saw a 200 damage -increase- on adverage, so, it might not actually -be- a loss.

    S'not even powercreep. I'd say it's intentional design. Their trying to break the stack and burn thing through sheer scaling.

    We had a 5+% resource cost increase in I think it was 2.4. Now another 5%? That would be unfortunate.

    ^This. Many PvP streamers are running low on resources while using their current live builds. There was nothing in the 2.6 patch notes to explain this discrepancy.

    There is in fact something different than live. I haven't had time to fully test if regen isn't happening as it should or something with skill cost. But I can tell you that myself and others have all discussed an obvious difference in how our main fighting resource has changed on pts compared to live.

    I checked out 20 abilities, both Magicka as Stamina, that had exactly the same costs in live as PTS
    Base Recoveries are the same. Recoveries on the sets are the same.

    The only difference I saw between live an PTS were the Fighters Guild abilities, that were all increased with 25%. In the patch notes only the Ultimate was mentioned.
    So somebody using Trap Beast all the time will feel the difference.

    This seems to be a likely cause of the new sustain issues. Eventually the increased costs will outpace the sustain since you will cap out the associated CP.

    Are you on a template character? Did you put a skill point in Intimidating Presence? That lowers costs of Fighters Guild skills.

    Working as intended just like the 6 month old bug that reduces global movement speed by 25%. People shouldnt bother pointing out bugs anymore.

    forgot to activate the passive on my template, thatr reduces Stamina cost.
    UI tooltip cost are then like the other abilities I tested exactly the same !

    well, first they reduced resources regen and now they increasing the cost of abilities.

    I agree, that before (both of it) it was possible to have infinite res, and I don't struggle atm with it. we'll see, how it's going to be after patch.

    I like to play in no-cp pvp, and I got a feeling that now it's going to be hard there :/
