Gold sink concept: Robbed on death

A simple concept when you are killed you loose a percentage of the gold you are carrying based on what enemies killed you. ESO needs more gold sinks as there is a huge inflation issue. also unless you are stealing or transferring to an alt there is no reason to deposit gold and realistically why would you carry 1 mil gold and not expect someone to help themselves when they kill you?

Players: no penalty
Traps and fall damage (disabled in PvP zones): 2%
creatures and non humanoid deadra: 3%
Humanoids: 5-10%

    How about giving it to other players, or Guild Traders, etc. If you're in a guild, I'm sure there are lower level players that could use more gold.

    I agree with this. I would never carry gold again. And why on earth would you want your hard earned gold taken? I spend hours farming in order to make money to buy the motifs and other things I want. If there was a chance to lose that, I would be furious.

    If you're going to go ahead and implement a gold sink for player deaths, why in the world would you shut it off in Cyrodiil? In any case, people would just circumvent it with banks and bouncing gold off of friends. You'd only actually lose gold on death if you got lazy.

    This would hurt new players with limited resources and finances more than players that have had the time to accrue large quantities of wealth.

    I have the same feeling. It would be an amazing opportunity to add a gold sink, but only if ZoS makes components of housing cost gold. There can be a mix of crowns + gold for various components and it can still work, but it won't help anything if it's strictly crowns only.

    The knights online model you lost 50% of gold you were carrying when killed in pvp and the pker received it. It was brutal but every now and then you would score big when someone rushed in and forgot to cash drop. It was just as hard holding onto it for long most of the time. There was no lose for pve deaths

    Another NO here. Losing something I worked to acquire is one of the reasons I don't enjoy Imperial City as much as Cyrodiil. I KNOW I'm not in the top 1% of players who never dies and never makes mistakes, being punished over and over again for it would not be enjoyable. And if you die to a glitch or a burst of lag?

    Not to mention we already have a 'death tax' in the form of armor repairs. No need for two of them.

    LOL, gift me some gold XD, Im super poor in this game (30k right now) trying to figure how to make gold T-T because a lot of stuff is really super expensive...

    I have about 23k saved in my bank. My guild has about 200k and some change. I feel like I keep having to throw gold at repairs or upgrades to armor. I always try to do as many quests as I can before returning to town to repair.

    To have enemies steal gold is a terrible idea. Your armor already gets damaged when you die and that's bad enough

    No! I have a hard enough time hanging on to gold outfitting 6 PvP characters.
    True some have lots of gold, but that is all they do in game is farm/make gold.
    I really don't understand you people that always want to nerf take away game progress, etc.

    Losing gold/exp on death is just a cheesy way to make people grind more.

    While you could do this in old time mmos, I don't think the psychy of modern gamers would work with it.

    Also thats not a gold sink, a gold sink removes the gold from the game, not moves it from player to player.

    Errm that is exactly what the OP is advocating - the gold disappears, it doesn't get transferred to another player, at least that's MY take on the OP...
