You might are not in the mood to hear this but technically it's pretty obvious why you got banned.
Because not all top ranked players got banned ...

Top scores require a similar strategy and play style, as best VMA players we all play at our limit depending on the skills a class has to offer. Since their announcment making adjustments to a new anti cheat system you were still playing your NB while others including my self are not.

Imo the kill rates during VMA waves with refreshing path and stacking sprint is enough for being classified as some sort of anomaly detection by their tools. This bug is a shame if this is true but at least it shows that they finally work on anti cheat solutions.
However, please keep cool you have enough detailed material and after analyzing your logs in VMA during that time you got banned
ZOS are able to fix this and continue their work on proper anti cheat solutions.

Many of us used twisting/refreshing path, other speed buffs, had a latency spike then suddenly booted from server and suspended and have never touched any cheat hack stuff.

Do you see now, why they are not able to perma ban the real cheaters? They are not able to identify them for sure.

It seems logical, that they are not able to differ between series of lags and a speed hack. They are the same on the server side. To solve this problem, they MUST first bug fix their lags AND the fps drops.

Until they do that, they have to deactivate their speed hacking routine, Otherwise they will loose subscribers in droves. Because there is no bigger rage in a gamer than being accused for wrongdoing, he didn't even commit.

Oh I don't know if this matters, but I was using 64bit at the time and had noticed obviously lower than usual FPS (18-25 rather than usual 50-60) enough that I restarted 2x to see if it fixed itself.

The funny thing is, there are people (some of them I even talked to personally) who are doing vma with freezed ult (using external programs), but very cautiously, so the anti-hack program will never suspect them, but instead it will automatically ban anyone who is just using in-game buffs and mechanics to move fast. This is really useful piece of software *kappa*

I truly am curious at this point what will Zenimax do. Will they just brush it under the carpet and not even acknowledge it or apologize and rectify the issue (VERY much doubt it). This is beyond incompetence, it is severe neglect and disrespect towards their players.
The trust is lost. Will I ever be safe to play again? How do i know that next time i pop a speed potion, rolldodge, jump and attack with animation cancelling at the same time and lag happens, will i not trigger some "detection" again? Are they purposefully trying to get rid of their more hardcore players or what? Guess i'll have to just walk around picking flowers for the rest of the duration, but wait... Someone got suspened even for that...

And why the heck do they not have at least a weekend CS skeleton crew, ESPECIALLY when something as major as this is pushed live? If you push a detection method of any kind and it's untested - chances are people will get flagged, and there should be a CS rep at the standby to assist when it does happen.

Seriously, so angry right now - losing a full weekend for yet another lovely show of incompetence from ZoS part, while at the same time hackers are still rampant on the server and probably laughing in their (and our) face.

Yeah I'd watch that flower picking. First time this happened to me was precisely chatting to my 8 year old sort of halfassedly picking flowers. Booted and char locked and when I had the nerve to complain, and outright banned until after several calls and emails they saw that I'd done nothing and it was down to sudden latency Spike. Their words.

This was when first cheat thing was implemented.

I wondered if some flower farmer got mad that I picked 'their' flower and reported me because I was standing around idle more than picking so....

Typical ZOS move.

My husband hasn't even been playing the last four days. When he wanted to login yesterday his account was suspended. CS tells him, he's banned for speed hacking. And no, he hasn't used this cheat engine thing. On the other hand, people that used the cheat engine the "smart" way to farm maelstrom arena don't get banned.

Must've been a automated banwave, they probably gathered all "suspects" over the course of the week and suspended them in one fell swoop, regardless if they were online or not. It's not a coincidence that this started since their last announcement about their adjustments to detection method.
This reminds me of the days when SoE started to implement server-side checks to combat cheaters on Planetside2, it was.. Shameful. It even turned into a minigame for veteran players to see if they can play good enough to be flagged as cheaters and they did.

I just wish I knew literally what I did to be filtered so I can never do it again...I always use twisting path because I feel like I'm running in slo mo since a while back and I would have used spell of running fast from pvp if I had it lvled on that char.

This is horrible, I cannot believe that ZoS implemented this to take effect on a Friday evening, when they must of known there would not be the staff available to deal with the fallout!!

Whilst I have not been affected I have PVP-ed a lot this week and cannot help but wonder whether anyone has been banned for using Rapid Maneuver or one of it's morphs.

So in the interests of keeping your spirits up, I dug this out of my extensive collection of silly pictures/memes I felt it was the most appropriate........

I really hope this is sorted out FAST!!

I do admit I am pretty sick and annoyed by this but I want to say I think the people affected here have kept pretty cool heads considering and I'm actually surprised and rather glad to see how no one's having drama outbursts etc.

Suppose i had a bit of a outburst but it's not really unjustified. With all the drama going on in Britain atm (yeah, I am from the UK) my only escape route which is virtual is now blocked too. Not sure what to play now. Debating whether to re-play Doom again or perhaps even download Skyrim again, but either options are the none that i would rather prefer.

Dude UK here too and I feel ya. I was feeling too weirded out by everyone raging at each other over the EU thing that I didn't even have the desire to play, but later in the evening my husband wanted to game so I logged in and said I'd come to VSO and stuff and then this so yeah.

I'm feeling emotionally drained actually from seeing my friends argue with each other. I have a headache since yesterday morning due to some stress about the future for us and our children mainly, and yeah. I didn't think your posts were out of order at all.

Venting frustration the only place relevant yes, but perfectly in line with the situation at hand.

Dont think you understood him correctly. What he is saying is: the game/ZOS thought/thinks these guys are hackers. This means, ZOS doesnt ban people they think are hacking perm, but only for 72 hours. This means all legit hackers are only getting 72 hour bans too.
Ofcourse in this case it is lucky, since a lot of non-hackers got banned, but thats not the point he is making.

Also, did any of you guys get a reaction from ZOS/got unbanned yet? A reaction from ZOS in here, regarding these false bans would be appropriate.
