Yeah, because the "experts" have done such a great job managing things... Which they have, as far as they're concerned, the rich are richer than ever and the poor just as poor as ever, exactly the way rich and powerful people like it, makes it easier for them to hold onto their power and money.

Clever one, eh?
Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »Attacks against the OP aside, I do think there are some valid points buried in this thread. I spent almost 100k on potion materials last night, and the same mats would have cost me 20-30k 2 months ago. There is big problem with a few individuals trying to corner the markets on these types of goods. You see posts in Zone that say "Buying you out" of xyz mats. You then see the same name in 5 different traders selling pots at extremely high prices. I think we as a community need to not give in to these types of solicitations, because they hurt the market.
As for the gold mats, I think they could probably do a little better job of buffing drop rates, especially with hirelings because they really cant be exploited like other farm/grinds can. Mat prices are always crazy a few weeks after patch, and this one is worse than ever because we have lots of new max level characters as of last week. I personally have 3 new toons, and I have already geared 2 of them. One to go, but I wont pay current market prices for wax.
If you are not an altoholic, writs on a few toons each day will solve your problem. It wont do it overnight, but it will in the long run. I get more than enough mats to make 2-3 gold sets each patch.
The biggest problem we have right now in my opinion is the inflexibility with altering our gear. Other than PVE DPS builds who want divines on everything, almost everyone is having to rethink their builds since they reworked all the traits. This means more Gold mats are needed. They also drastically expanded what were already extremely bloated loot table for almost every drop you can think of. Giving crafters the ability to change things like traits and styles would go a long way into easing the frustration with RNG in this game. I dont think it should be trivial to accomplish, but I think it would be nice to have an alternative to simply deconstructing and crafting new sets.
@Lucius_Aelius I just noticed we are in the same trade guild on Xbox1....secret sauce. My wife primarily plays on XB as I do on PC, but sometimes I drop on for some casual fun.
I was thinking about a video series for the casual gamers in ESO on how to get the most out of it...PvP, gold making, etc.

I wouldn't call myself a casual gamer, it's a hobby I'm quite dedicated to and I always play to win, just because I'm not interested in having multiple accounts and whatnot doesn't make me a casual gamer. Not insulted or anything, but the shoe doesn't fit in this case, and it does injustice to my and others' positions to relegate us as casuals just because we're not going as far as you in making Gold, which isn't necessarily what you're doing but it seems kind of like it is, if not then nevermind.
What works, flipping stuff? Its a MMO, thats how they work.... maybe farmville would suits your needs better.
And yes, Akaviri pages. There are so many crafters out there that don't PvP. I'm working on enough AP to get my last page (which I'd have if I could bank the AP on my 4 characters that PvP), but I have friends who have asked me to get them pages when I have the AP to spare. I'm sure there are many more people out there just waiting for the Akaviri pages to be put up for sale.

And while I posted about my craglorn setup you can see that doesnt really have much to do with guild store sales....the 27k from doing writs isnt reflected in guild store sales. those sales come from selling hot items and flipping other items.
Hot items= lich pieces, willpower and agility rings, motifs, etc.
it doesnt take more than an hour or two for you to farm hews bane and gold coast bosses for motifs and rack up a nice chunk of gold.
By the way, i still think your AP is better spent on the motifs than the rng bags if youre looking to make gold.
I'm on Xbox, so I'd need Xbox Live on any second account (and I'm not rich so I can't just throw money around like that, expenses add up and even $60 on something so completely excessive and mostly useless just isn't practical), which isn't even the only reason I wouldn't want to bother (no one should have to have a second account just to get the most out of a video game).
Actually, you only require Xbox Live on one account, if the box is set as primary for that account. If you wanted to run it on two boxes at the same time, the account with Live has to play on its non-primary box. (I don't have Live; husband does, and we play together).
I agree with your statement that it should not be necessary! Just wanted to let you know that it would be possible.
...huh? No, you definitely can't do that, or at least I can't do that. I had a Trial work like that once, but my Xbox Live Gold membership absolutely does not spill over to other accounts on my xbox, I've tried and it doesn't work.
It's a despicable way of enriching yourself on the backs of others, and by doing so, you 'steal' from these traders and limit the poor players.GrumpStump wrote: »
Oh boy, i have like 80K, and I did V10 levels to get that...I just spent the last of my gold on creating some purple gear and gold weapons for my Mag DK, all with gold enchants...
That 100k I've been saving up in the bank... which took me 4 whole days... gone
This game is one of the least grindy MMOs I have ever played.
The only thing really saving this economy from a hyper deflation collapse is the frequest DLCs and the 7 or 8 items that are still actually in demand.
To be quite honest, if you are v16 (sorry, CP160) and broke then you are doing something wrong. I get about 2 hours play time a day, if that. I break about 400k a week in guild sales.
How so? Most of my gold goes to potions. I use like a 100 of them everyday and they cost like 15-20k.
Income from ap boxes barely catches up with it. Dungeon gears are bind on pickup, so no gold from there.
I do 100% pvp though, no any flower picking or anything like that. Maybe that's the problem lol.

Is the Xbox One set as the primary console for your account with Xbox Live?
I don't have Xbox Live, and I play ESO on Xbox, because the console is set as my husband's primary console. We even play together at the same time, I use his primary Xbox and he uses the spare.
It works the same for PS+ on Playstation. My account has the PS+ and he gets to play online on the PvP because it's my account's primary PS4. He can even use his account to play my "free" monthly games.

Actually, the "Casual" is the guy that plays as he wants to play, ignoring all the rest, like "Must have uber gear", or "Must be top of whatever rank system", or builds to be the best whatever.Lucius_Aelius wrote: »@Lucius_Aelius I just noticed we are in the same trade guild on Xbox1....secret sauce. That's not how I define casual either. I am talking about the guy who only plays minimal hours a week without access to end game raids etc.

Not bad, I think.
Differene between "hardcore" and "casuals" is not just the time one puts into a game, it also reflects on the mental institute of said player.
A "Hardcore" needs to have the very best at all times, while "Casuals" are happy whith much less gear.
Surely a "casual" can appreciate top gear, but he will not likely aim for it.
"Casuals" don't seem to think too deeply into builds, gear, respeccing, he only cares for fun.
And the clashes between both groups now resided a lot, but it could be hard at times.
Another class are role Players.
These give no dang about the previous and whatever they do, to them, it's their character, and it's environment.
And nothing else matters... according to Metallica.

Why don't you lecture others about selling stuff too low? News flash- an item is worth what a consumer is willing to pay for it. It's not like you don't have access to this stuff...you are more than capable to go farm mats for yourself.
You can't have what everyone else has without the expectation of working hard for it.
