I believe the Europeans are safe to go to bed, and try again tomorrow
I am playing other games and surfing various forums while waiting, so I am not too stressed about it not being up yet.
In all honesty, the later the better, as then it tends to be much less people online! ^^
By the time the servers were going down, people were killing all NPCs in whole Golden Coast so it was quite troublesome trying to finish my assassin quest
It's only 10.30pm here, I'm not 12 years old!
I sure hope you are not, as the game is 18 rated
I just meant that it will be late before it is back again - not much time left to play anyway
(Unless they stay up late, like me, not having to go to a job.)
Actually, it's rated 16
Where are you?
I thought the change to pegi 18 was all over Europe?
I think I missed that change, I just remember seeing pegi 16 on my game discs.

ZOS is forcing me to go outside and risk the wrath of the mysterious yellow ball in the sky.
I have left instructions with my attys. to begin legal action against ZOS if I am harmed in any way. (I have heard rumors that that yellow ball burns people!)
I will post further updates as they are available in this thread...
I went outside. I had heard rumours of this "yellow ball in the sky," but I never really took them seriously. Let me tell you this: the yellow ball is real. And it. Hurt. My. Eyes.
I wouldn't mind the name of your attourney, @LrdRahvin . We may be looking at a class action, here.
no you are not, class action is excluded in the terms of service.
Ha! TOS's are 99% unenforceable in a court of law.
Someone here thinks they know all the legal ins and outs of a legal system. This one finds this most humourous. Go on enlighten us with exactly why a ToS is not enforceable. Bring in exact law to prove your point or go back to that pitiful cave this one avoids due to the stench it exudes.
BTW there is a reason most gaming companies do not lose lawsuits that are related to or are covered in some way by thier ToS.
One of the first things you learn in computer science is that there is no way to prove, that software is bug-free - it is simply impossible - so if a company made a real effort to fix it, but couldn't, it cannot be held against them.

@ZoM_Head It's in one of the wood elf zones, underneath a little hut in the woods. The woman who lives there went crazy because she wanted to grow pumpkins, or something like that...

That causes you to immediately bring down the servers...
Before you've even developed a potential fix...
Much less tested it to verify it you're even on the right track...
Meanwhile the server has been down for several hours and remains down...
Whatever it was, it must've been one nasty exploit.
What we're working on fixing wasn't an exploit. We've been investigating and pulling together all the details (thus the lack of details initially.) We will share the details in our hotfix messaging.
redwoodretired_ESO wrote: »Wow well whatever made them bring the server down must have been very bad, after waiting so long for this patch its better to get it fixed now...Hopefully its fixed so and effectively
@redwoodretired_ESO
Note, this is based on emails I got from the officers of some guilds, they called it a potential issue, so maybe this is for something else.
There was a glitch with the guild banks and the crafting bags. Where someone who had crafting bags and accessed the guild bank could empty out the crafting mats in the bank if they had withdrawal privileges. Probably not a huge deal for most guilds, as this is usually officers and trusted people who have this, but it all gets mixed in with your own stuff making putting back what was there a bit of a problem. Then with other guilds that have loose bank access, it could be an issue. Most of my guilds froze their banks right after servers came up (I was on in minutes after).
I don't know if the guilds work the same way on the PTS so perhaps this issue never came up on that platform.

My main complaint with the downtime is I had bought a bunch of snacks, and now that I have no game to distract me I just speed-ate my way through them and am feeling like a bloated walrus sitting here.
I suppose I could do some chore-type stuff around the house but why ruin my long weekend's streak of sloth and non-productive activity?
