Beware: when resetting your skills you may reset some of them back to 0 !!!

Hi,

This is one of the greatest games, but beware when resetting
your skills you may reset them back to 0, this happened to me
as a Dragonkight for two very important skills "Fire Ring and
Ferocious Leap", and I was offered apologies, but no remedy
so far, eventhough ESO has recognized that it did happen. I
have lost days and hours of play/work to get those skills.
Also, I was told ESO the ESO development team will be
investigating the matter!

Are you serious? This is actually a thing? If what you say is true, then ESO is going downhill a lot faster than we all have imagined... And we should all be on very high alert. And I do mean very high alert.

I have a habit of constantly redoing my skills dropping at least 50k in gold a month tweaking my characters' skills; this has never happened to me.

Sounds to me like someone didn't write their morphs down before respeccing ... Would like to disprove that theory, but I'm guessing the OP doesn't have screenshots ...

I've had it happen, but I think it was from choosing a different morph for the skill than what was originally chosen. Sad thing is that I just want to remove one skill at this time, so don't want to do the reset just to fix the one skill that I don't need.

I've never had this happen accept for one time on my templar. I forgot what morphs she had. Honestly think that's what happened to you. You choose a different morph, you start with the skill at one. Your ticket says you have the points in destro staff. If you have the gold, WRITE DOWN what you have specced now, reset your points and on Fire Ring and Ferocious Leap, choose the other morph. If those are still at level 1, then you have a problem.

Here's the DK wiki with skills and morphs. That way you can see what morph you actually have going by the pictures.

Well i know if you respec to different morph you go back to 1 but with many respec never had it happen otherwise.

I just reset my skills and all seems fine here, but if that's a chance to happen, then that's a serious issue for sure.

This. If you've previously maxed a morph - for example the unstable wall of elements - and then pick the other one - elemental blockade - then you'll have to level that second morph. If you respec again to unstable wall, it'll still be maxed.

Not to say what OP described can't have happened, but it's also possible that they simply choose a morph they hadn't previously leveled.

Hi,

Someone can explain to me how in the world I am going to morph those
reset skills if they went back to "level 0". First of all, in order to morph a
skill you have to get to a level in which you can morph them.

I am concerned about this glitch 'cause I still don't know what caused it,
and ESO has apologized, but offered no solution or make it up to me in
someway for the problem. I'm a veteran 16 and was planing to get an
ESO monthly membership to get access to the other DLC's. I have put
that on hold for now as I think this is a serious issue, specially if you
cannot go back to a previous status as the game has no save mechanism
in place for us customers.

It happen to my magicka sorc once. I had ice comet at rank IV. After I respecced I didn't even have the ability to morph the skill.

Hi Acrolas,

Thank you, but I already submitted my Game Consultant Report. ESO
could not find the problem on it so my case was escalated to the
development team.

I believe it is a software glitch or must be the "gremlins"

Hi Molag Crow,

Yes, it is a very serious issue. Unfortunately, ESO is no being forthcoming about my
predicament and is not offering me any remedy such as credit for all those days and
hours spent in upgrading those two skills to level IV.

Have you tried earning XP with the zeroed skills equipped? Sometimes there's a bug where the XP exists but it's not being applied properly. Once you earn some progression on the skill it will snap back to the correct place.

I had this too, I shrugged, and started allover.

I do not get the issue: my skill went from something like 60 to 0, but I saw ABSOLUTELY no difference in said skill use (Destru Staff) on my mage, that I killed off.

This incident was what made me question this "skill line" since it does nothing at all?

Hi Aisle9,

Yep... some of my skills were reset to "0" so I had to start all over again
to get them to level IV. Not very nice as I spent many days an hours to
get them to level 4. It is a serious problem for which I have received only
apologies, and no solution or credit so far. It is sad as I believe this is one
of the greatest games.

Over the 2 years that I've been playing I've reset my skills more times than I could possibly remember and never had this happen once. Nor know of a single person that has ever mentioned it.

I almost don't believe it, but this is ESO so anything is possible.

I will test this on a newly created alt

I will morph the first 5 skills gain 1 level each, then reset and respec, level the alternative also 1 level respec and see what happens. I think OP left his bridge to write this post though...

Yo probably had take flight and the other morph and mixed up your morphs after you respecced mate

I've had a few skills reset progress towards the morphs like reset my sorc who used crystal frags but when I reset I was on lvl 1 of the base skill instead of lvl 4 with no option to morph and had to re level it
