I prefer magickal/mystical mounts being both time-limited and expensive, just so I don't see so many of them.

I have the crowns, not buying it, not worth it to me--but I don't want them to be as common as a regular horse, you know?

Ultimately, I think this is a reason why the mount is so expensive. It is intended to be special and rare.

If a lot of people buy it, yes they will gleefully take the money when people buy more Crowns, but the next "rare" mount will probably be more expensive. Just to keep it from being too common.

Buy the mount, don't buy the mount, I personally don't care. If they are setting the price to try to keep it an uncommon mount, in addition to making it limited time, then I support what they are doing.

On the other hand, if they are just looking for a cash grab.... they can rot in the Deadlands.

After some thought, this price is understandable, but still too expensive to me.

Assume ZOS wants premium mounts to sell around $20 to $25 dollars.

Before the crown sale, 100 crowns = $1 dollar on average & premium mounts were 2000 to 2500 crowns, or $20 to $25.

After the sale, crowns were 200 = $1 dollar, meaning the 4000 crown price is $20 bucks. Still in the same ball park.

Issue is if you didn't get crowns during the sale or your on a fixed income like ESO plus, this crown inflation hits you hard, and everything becomes more expensive.

To note I never like the $25 price tag on the prior premium mounts, but realize that this price has been in the game for a while. We're only just recognizing it because the inflation price makes it seem so high.

I've wanted this mount ever since I played with it on the PTS all those months ago. When I saw it was up in the Crown Store and it was 4,000 crowns, I asked myself these questions:

    1. Did I want it? Yes!
    2. Could I afford it? Yep!
    3. Would I enjoy running around Tamriel on it, wearing my Elven Hero Armor with my little black bear cub running behind? YES!
    4. Did I care what complete strangers thought about my purchase and their negative judgements about what I do with my discretionary income? No!

They can and should refund at least 50% of those crowns and drop the price to 2k MAX.

I am a PC and Xbox One player who has purchased boxed Collector's Editions for both platforms. I then got my wife hooked on it enough to purchase a second Xbox One and Imperial Edition to play together. We both have each purchased several previous mounts at the 2500 price point, most of the costumes including the hero costumes, many pets as well as the DLC Collector's editions.

We obviously love this game, have money to spend and the desire to enjoy the crown store content.

That said, 4000 crowns for just 1 mount....... No bonus scrolls, potions, pets or even a 2 for one mount offer on another senche model that this one is based on.....

I was super excited for this mount and was ready to run home and drop my crowns on it, but no, we will not be purchasing this one on general principle.

It's a shame too, it is a nice looking mount. It's just difficult to justify a glamour item that costs more than DLC zones or in the same range as DLC bundles even when we have the money. Consumers have the power to change, but only if they are smart in their purchases. I won't hate on anyone purchasing it, but I'd hope that they strongly consider the precedent they are setting in doing so and instead choose to send a message to ZOS.

Hopefully they take a look at the direction going forward and adjust their pricing accordingly.

    In english:
From the beginning this mount was with its appearance and animations a special mount (with a special price). There were the expected (and hoped for) reactions since it was on PTS.

So it costs more than usual since it has a special summoning and so on.

But still I hope that they'll looking into this and maybe reconsidering the prices on the next mounts.

Interesting he would say that. A special summon doesn't justify a cost higher than Orsinium which has vastly more work and testing involved than reskinning a mount and adding special effects and a few sounds. I work as a digital artist and developer in Unity and C#, so have a vague idea just how much went into the "special" mount vs other things they sell in the same market place.

Indeed, let's hope they reconsider things going forward. I don't mind paying for content, but 4000 crowns for a skin job isn't healthy for the game, no matter how they or anyone purchasing it try to justify it.

Paying a premium for something rare in any hobby is normal.

The difference doing it in eso is that you are not getting anything physical that you own.

Zenimax can at any point turn the game off.

At least with some other games you get a physical collectable item that you can keep and will maintain some future resale value.

At least thats whats holding me back. It looks awesome but i refuse to invest too heavily in collectables that have a limited life.

Pretty upset about the price.. Already was on the fence about spend $25 and getting it, finally caved and hoped on. Just to see its 4000 crowns. That's some greedy ass ***. All you did was make the senche black, and some blue marks and eyes, and then make it crawl out of the ground.. Pretty pathetic. Not to mention the eyes look like ass. I can see the white under the blue phantasmal ***. Just lost another customer "greedymax".

I really wanted this mount but im going to vote with my wallet and pass. In aussie land costs $50 since you have to buy 5k crowns. Same as the 5k motiffs a ripoff anyone who got this well done you have let them get away with it. Nice try with the marketing hype too not going to work on the large cynical playerbase though

There are permanent, limited and rare mounts that go on sale within the store and for this such occasion the Dro-m’Athra Senche is two of those three things. This is not a bad direction in which ZoS is heading, It's offering players an alternative expensive, mount for players of whom it may interest knowing that it will be rare in the process.

If you cannot afford it, I'm sorry, But you shouldn't rip into people suggesting that there purchase is stupid and dumbfounded. I see people everyday of my life with things they don't necessarily need...but they have them and so do you! So sit back and think about your own spending needs before judging others.

By the way here is my Dro-m’Athra Senche

I second that, but also I personally have no problem with those who bought it. Good for them. I do however have a problem with the decision Zos made to make a mount more expensive than a DLC.

I prefer magickal/mystical mounts being both time-limited and expensive, just so I don't see so many of them.

Especially when they are as ugly as this one with its blue *** leakage spew. I don't get why the ugliest mounts cost the most. This is the second mount with blue *** spew and both were expensive and very ugly looking when running. ZOS seems to have a tough time with those particle effects.

More flaming tracks on the ground, less *** spew.

But if they sell, awesome. I'm all for ESO being profitable. And taste is subjective, so my opinion means nothing (though the *** spew also makes group play in Cyrodiil annoying when the incontinent mount in front of you is dripping waste in your face as you ride.

    Maybe.

Some limited time mounts do come back (like the zombie horse which is coming back for Halloween), others have only ever been available once.

ZOS doesn't tell us if things will be coming back or when until they're announcing the return of a specific item, which is usually just before it comes back.

Thanks, i know some mounts come back, like the Mind Shriven Horse that they Bundled with the IC DLC a few weeks ago.

Basically it's the only mount i'd like to have, the black wolf is nice too, but it's also not available anymore.

I don't like the Atronach mounts either, the Wolf seems ok but i'm not going to spend Crowns on the crates, unless they add the Dro-m mount to them and it doesn't cost as much as the Atronach mounts.
