Magicka users who don't use resto/destro staff in PvP and the new poisons on resource management.

With the new magicka resource draining poisons, ZOS officially killed your play style for thinking outside the box by choosing to use dual swords and a one hand and shield combo over a resto/destro staff. RIP magicka resource pool. Game was fun when you could make your own builds differently than the masses. Too bad Eric Wrobel was left in charge. @Wrobel @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert

Can you explain more? Do you mean it's easier to manage your resources with destro staff, or that your attacks will not be applying the poison unless you use ranged weapon?

You get back some resources by using medium/heavy attacks, and staffs are the only ones giving back magicka.

u regain magicka from a HA from a resto/destro staff, or potions .... so if you dont run with either a resto or destro staff ull be partially if not fully screwed

Looks like I will be applying poisons to all of my weapons. I D/W on my damage bar and use a Resto to restore magicka. At least I'll be able to poison them while I'm at it!

I bet a bunch of those S/B peeps will be switching out to D/W. They can have 3 different poisons going by D/W and using a Resto Staff. Unless for some idiotic reason you cannot apply Poisons to Staffs, I haven't tried the PTS so I'm not sure about that.

Might as well start the call for a "no poisons" PvP campaign. Every other change to PvP in the last three patches have been huge buffs to zergs, its not crazy to assume this will be as well.

You don't get 3 different poisons by going DW, you get 1 poison slot per weapon BAR, not per equipped weapon. So everyone gets 1 poison slot for their main weapon combo, and 1 poison slot for their back bar, regardless of whether they have 1 or 2 weapons equipped per bar.

^This. With the added poison that drains magicka resources, you killed any build who does not use a resto or destro staff for magicka regen and have made your games "play as you want" style much more limited. @Wrobel @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Finn @ZOS_MattFiror

This discussion is pointless. Even when poison debuffed, most magicka builds would have more sustain than unpoisoned stamina builds.

Well, using poisons for me as a magicka-based dual wielder is annoying and unpleasant. I'm also a Templar - I can't weave puncturing sweeps with light attacks fast enough. I don't have weapon-based dmg abilities, because DW provides stamina skills only.
However staff users loose their additional spd and 1 set bonus. This is significant. Maybe it's a fair deal. But I just don't like these Poisons and don't like that my class-spec doesn't have any synergy with it.

You get back some resources by using medium/heavy attacks, and staffs are the only ones giving back magicka.

You get resources back only from fully-charged heavy attacks. Partially-charged heavies (medium) and incomplete heavy channels do not return magicka.

With respect to poisons, IMHO, resource return isn't as important as poisons proc'ing off of weapon attacks, so if you want to apply poisons from range, then then you're going to need a staff.

And, frankly, I think it's perfectly fine. People have long complained about how staves are not as desirable (at least for PvP--in PvE, a magicka user not using a staff needs to L2P), and now there're more incentives to use staves. This is good.

Hmm. Not sure the whole Dw thing counts as build diversity. Everyone uses it because of the advantages you gain from twin blade and blunt, and the extra set piece. I'm not a huge fan of poisons myself, I guess I shouldn't of expected better.
