ZOS added CP to replace the removal of vet ranks so why would they remove CP and vet ranks ?
they have said in a q&a that they are gonna remove vet ranks eventually

The "catchup" enlightenment wasn't always in place.
Before they implemented this mechanic, all players would get the same amount of CPs per exp regardless of how many CPs they had.
So if a player grinded his way to v16 back when he did not have the catchup mechanic, and did not play since... that would mean he could be beneath the 160CP mark that his v16 gear would require upon VR removal.
I'd like to know if ZOS has officially said they're going to equate 10 CP to each VR for purposes of equipment, or if players are just using the ratio hypothetically.
I'm about halfway between v9 and v10 and I have 188 CP (I was around v2-3 when they changed the XP/VP scales). Just as a kind of sanity check, I attempted to use a calculation for CP cost to see how many CP one should have if starting with the current system. If I'm right, a player hitting v16 with nonstop enlightenment should have 331 CP (or 149 CP if they somehow never had any enlightenment).
To get a rough idea of balance - think of 10CP = 1 VR. (so 160 CP will roughly = VR16)

@pareidolon In one of the posts by Rich Lambert, he said this was one of the options they were looking at. It isn't confirmed that this is what they are going to do yet, though.pareidolon wrote: »I'd like to know if ZOS has officially said they're going to equate 10 CP to each VR for purposes of equipment, or if players are just using the ratio hypothetically.

Someone please delete this thread before the sheep read the title, get scared, and start complaining.

If they go solo player route, it'll be here for good.
Why would yo say Champion Points are for solo playing? Just wondering.

Come Dark Brotherhood, we'll all be dropped to level 50 and gear will be gated based on CP instead of VR.

Once veteran ranks will be removed, you will gain some c-points, depending on your highest ranked character... minimum to allow you to still use all your gear. So, if you had a V16, and only 80 c-points, you#d get them raised to 160 to use all the V16-equivalent gear.
There are now "champion point disabled" campaigns, for those people who don't want to have to fear getting stomped in cyrodil just because the other player has way more c-points. From what I have seen, the PvPlayers seem to migrate away from those... so we shall see.
And champion points never are "lost" - you can spend them ot not, but every point earned stays with your account. Champion points can only be earned by V1 or higher characters, which will translate to level 50 characters come the DB DLC... but every character that gets there can earn c-points (I mean, duh, they would not want to make the game completely unattractive to new players with some "you must be V1 by this time" rule...)

My question is when they drop us to 50 we will lose our extra 15 magica, stam, or health points correct?
What compensation will they give us? More CPs?

There's a catch system in place now.
50 tov16 before that was implemented got you about 70 CP I think.
You earn them a lot quicker now though.
Well when they introduced the champ system there were no V16s. VR12 I believe was the cap then. We were tho limited no matter how much xp we had earned after that to 70cp. Now a VR12 will have way more because of being enlightened and xp scrolls etc.
