I don't get why ZOS decides behind closed doors what sets go and what sets stay and doesn't poll their playerbase about which popular sets to keep.

Is this some sort of Daddy ZOS knows best for us type of deal or did they not even think that some sets would be really popular and they should update them.

What is the criteria for updating, including, or removing a set and why can't the community have a say in it?

Diversity in a game where you can "play as you want" is so incredibly low that it's just laughable.

I disagree, I think there is a lot of diversity this update. All armor/weapon types are viable now and with poisons it allows for more unique play styles. I just hate things like shuffle/rally that are deemed "must haves" and things like agility/willpower that are considered BIS. I think if these sets were scaled up it would increase the variety of builds and kind of steer away from the BIS agility/willpower. Only benefits can come from scaling these items up.

    "Stack damage" isn't diversity.

Weapon skill lines are probably the most balanced they have ever been, but choosing whether to use Uppercut, Flurry, or Surprise Attack isn't all there is to build diversity. While people may be running different weapons or item sets a vast majority of them are running the same basic build. Stack enough damage to burst someone down in one CC is the meta for a reason. It is hands down the best build, and most efficient way to play. There are plenty of good players that don't follow this meta and create interesting and fun builds. However, those players are purposefully limiting their potential by not running an all out damage build. I don't think this will be something updating sets will fix. It's a fundamental problem with the game and the CP system. Additionally, I personally hate the poisons, and think they are the worst thing for Cyrodiil since CP was implemented.

Don't forget the highly diverse other type of build: Stack defense.

    The real question is

    Did you stack your stack?

I feel as if there is a lot of variety, it doesn't mean you have to. My new DK build has 40k health but hits like a truck without using shuffle/rally on PTS. Lol, we're getting off topic at this point but there can always be more variety.

Suddenly, but defense stack is hardcapped while damage isn't

I'd love to get dreugh slayer king back some day scaled

VR16 Dreugh King Slayer (well, "160 Champion Point" Dreugh King Slayer) drops in the increased difficulty Sanctum Ophidia that is coming with Dark Brotherhood. I think it is Bind On Equip so can be bought and sold. However, the 5-piece bonus was changed from flat weapon damage and speed after killing an enemy to gaining Major Brutality buff and Major Expedition buff after killing an enemy.

Oh I only used it for the heavy armor double weapon dmg buffs I was running 3pc 2 ring 1 weapon agility 5pc hundings and the rest of it dreugh slayer had great def and dmg.

It is pretty clear that they want you to pay for DLC and obtain newer sets for their cash grab business model.

If all the sets you wanted were from Vanilla ESO, who would shout out their pennies for the "Empty AF" content they keep releasing time and time again.

I know I do not buy any content that does not indirectly help my character advance, make money or obtain stronger gear easier. I also do not craft for this reason in the game anymore. It is much easier to save my money, login to Elder Bugs Online and have someone else do this process for me with out bothering to pay for any extra content.

This was also very clear when they introduced the patch with Agility and Spell power rings that produce 50% greater stats than all over 3 piece sets.

Again, they prefer you to spend your money and move on to the new items they create. Spending time upgrading old gear that in effect is better than any of the new trash they keep releasing would not benefit them in you not buying the new DLC.

"On a side note, who wants to buy another horse for $40.00".

I am passed being constructive anymore. 2.5 years of constructive feedback has lead us to this point.

I've never understood this argument. Players who want to maximize their characters are going to want access to both the old "vanilla" sets AND the new DLC sets. Updating Necropotence would not make Vicious Death any less desirable, for example, it would just add another option to the theorycrafter's toolkit.

Also, your argument makes an assumption that I don't believe is true: that players ONLY buy DLC to get new gear. The zone content itself has value for many people. I spend plenty of time in Wrothgar exploring and grinding and doing world bosses and the Maelstrom Arena... all without worrying too much about what gear drops.
