Actually different cultures do and have done this - to either refer to themselves or others in 3rd person, even if they are directly speaking to this person or about themselves. Japan is one such example, where this is considered to be more polite.

you are just full of fun facts aren't you? @Lysette

I like different cultures and to travel to a lot of countries and so I am interested as well into such things. humans are extremely diverse and it is so exciting to see how people are and live in other countries.

Edit: this is a series of interesting interviews and picture of people in different cultures, which was once featured by google - quite interesting to see how people live, think and what they experience and what they tell about their life. Well, link does not work, so I have to link the longer ones

When we normally refer to humans, we have the western type in mind - but the majority of humans are not of this kind - they are quite different.

Humans can be gross too, just look at these 2 dani warriors from papua new guinea.

and there are even more extreme looking ones. And if you want to know, how extreme they look in their lower body parts, then search for "Koteka" in google image.

It's all about perspective really. I made a templar redguard who looks like an ancient African warrier - necklace and earrings made of fangs, beaded braided hair, ritualistic tattoos all over the face and scarred body. Still looking for a perfect armor motif though, she's wearing Imperial armor which is OK but not a perfect fit.

Not that I'm a roleplayer, but she's mad fun to play just from a concept perspective. She's like that evil force brought back to life, something out of ancient legends >:)
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

Single player TES games, I liked trying all the different races for different appearance more than the racial abilities. There is a brilliant mod for Skyrim that add some very cool racial abilities, though: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=521047605

For ESO, I don't care about the appearance, much more interested in different build ideas and different class/race combinations for PVP.

So far, I've tried all the ESO races except Nord and Argonian. Hoping these get buffed a bit, looking forward to trying them at some point.

Altmer, or any Elf for that matter. Or redguard. Or pretty much anything that doesnt have a furry tail.

I MAY sometime make a Nord though, cause I'm Norse by heritage.

Yeah nord by heritage that makes sense since you live on earth and nords do not. Plz ppl, there is a difference of real life and eso.

Really though Orcs are just green Elves with big ol' chompers. There are a few Female Orcs that look really good too. Some of them have AMAZING eyes...

Kajiit. Its not that I dislike them, but I am not a fan of the art and animations for them in ESO. Its probably just my eyeballs and not reality, but the model for them seems very undetailed and low res. It bugs me.

It would have been awesome if the Khajiit and Argonians had Digitigrade legs to further get across that they are in fact Beast Races. But that requires custom character models, animations, and armor meshes.

Well, even she is Redguard, some of the argonian sets have a quite tribal look to them - maybe something like that?

Argonian... They belong in my family's slave pens back in Balmora.

Edit: Truthfully I only play Dunmer... And that pretty much goes for every MMO that has a "Dark Elf" playable race option. If they only have a human character then I'll do my best to make that human 'appear' to be a Dark Elf...

Argonians and Nords have so poopy passives, that I will probably never create one. They're like the worth of 10-20 attribute points behind other races in resource pools. I spend most of my gaming time in groups with other players, so I have more interest in bringing the best I can to do my role.

My khajiit and orcs are for roleplay and pvp purposes, and their racials have their benefits.
