Even distributed points is not that useful, as you have no way of knowing where they were distributed. Someone with 300 points distributed one way may be way more or less powerful than someone who distributed them differently. That's why I think showing CPs is unnecessary; it doesn't tell you anything useful. There is no point in showing ALL champion points. Show only distributed chamption points, so it will be 501 max. 700+ dudes will just scare/confuse new players. There is no difference between 501 and 1501 atm.

Yes, knowing your role is more important than CP in how well a person will do, but it is ridiculous to think that it can completely override the difference between 160CP and 350CP and it is not elitism to say as much.
People on console beat it a while ago too gotta score of 53 lol
Hopefully I dont offend anyone and people realise the importance of showing allocated cp. However, I do agree showing total CP has no purpose. 2000 CP when CP cap is 501 is kinda pointless information.
I would agree with that. If CP are going to be shown, then CP should be shown for all characters, not just those who are Level 50, since every character can use that account's CP. (But as I've said before, I would much rather they weren't shown at all.)lordrichter wrote: »Another interesting point is that the Level 1 - 49 characters show no indication of what the player level is. In the .01% of cases where someone with 300+ CP has them allocated the wrong way, sure it's pointless info. BUT in 99% of cases where a player with enough gumption to go and get 300+ CP (probably seen and learned a few things) IT IS useful information and the equivalent of showing your rank now.

That 0.1% is probably closer to 25% or more. Opinions will vary on what the best allocation is. If you mean "allocated like the smart people in the forum think it should be allocated" it might be closer to 50%.
This is a good example of the player separation issue that was caused by VRs that their removal should have alleviated. There are people who do not want constant reminders that they are not very efficient at gaining XP, they just want to be able to play a game they enjoy. Slapping these numbers all over the place just says "I'll never be as good as that player, so what's the point?", which is a mindset that should not exist when everyone is Level 50. CPs should be personal to you, as a way of marking your progression above Level 50. Unlike level, which directly influences your power, your CPs should only affect your adaptability, based on your chosen Champion passives, and that should be nobody else's business.Bfish22090 wrote: »

CP is not a character level for one
It's also not a determination of how strong, effective or any capability of a player.
Think of what plays not this...skill points, skill ranks, morphs, weapon, armor and skill line unlocks.
Cp has a potential to enhance certain things but then u would need to see stat PTS, skill PTS, skill rank, CP Passives, gear, enchants and all this just to get an idea of their capability.
Since none of that is happening showing CP only is there for prejudice.
Show 50 and maybe brackets for each 100 cp gained and move one.
And with the brackets....that's still questionable
I would support seeing more info on other characters. I'd be fine with an inspect option. It seems like a lot of people are super secretive though.

Agree with that so much! I used to play another game, MMO, in which you could inspect other characters - see what they wear in detail, browse through their achievements. I thought it was pretty cool, and it motivated me as a new player to get a better build, get certain armor styles that looked better than mine.
It's up to you what you make out of it. In general, noone cares about other players unless they are grouped up together and the group is underperforming.
There's far more benefits to it than disadvantages. Just think about it - next time you ask for advice on your build/skill morph in the guild chat - all you need to do is link your profile that shows your armor set, achievements, skills, stats (with options to hide some).

It's all very simple: make it optional.
Add to the settings:
Showcase Champion Points: Yes/No
Allow gear inspection: Yes/No
Problem solved.
I didn't say that at all. You (not you specifically, this is General "you") go ahead and enjoy the benefits of the passives gained by those 501+ CPs, you've earned them. But don't shove them in the face of those people who haven't, can't, don't or aren't able to have that many. They're here to enjoy the game just as much as you, and don't deserve to be sidelined in endgame content just because of some arbitrary number of passives you can use and they can't.Yea I'll never have what other people have so we should all appear the same, just make all the costumes the same, gear look the same, level look the same. You realize how ridiculous this sounds? This is a good example of the player separation issue that was caused by VRs that their removal should have alleviated. Beat it again with a score of 42 they say the boss is broken and you have to burn him to skip broken mechanics or some shiz and i think its safe to say that butning his health is hard AF

Come on, you honestly believe that 1 in 4 people with 300+ CP has them allocated in a way that doesn't benefit their build? You trollololin?
I agree with a few previous posters who think that the CP displayed should be the CP that you've allocated, not your total CP.
It solves most of the problems posted here, (if you're friends feel behind, use less CP!), if raid guilds require a certain level, they'll know the CP that everyone's actually applied (applied well is a horse of a different color). If you're worried about seeing a massive level difference between new players and long-time frequent players, 10-501 is somewhat better than 10-1xxx. If you don't want the world to see that you've spent way too much time in the game, problem solved as well.

The whole point of removing VR was to remove VR. That's any post 50 level indicators too.
IF ZOS really wants to display something, then use level 50

Oh, there is value in displaying champion points. There is just no value in displaying more than is spent on the character.
