It was posted on the login screen information after they realized it affected more than the multiple mundus stone characters.
Not finding it on the console (and your saying they knew about this from the PC?)
...and the console does not have a mouse or "clickable" area to link to the forums, hence,
Why don't they just post it in the login area where the other info from 5 weeks ago is listed?
What tools do consoles have to promote better communication within the community?
I don't disagree that Zeni should have better and more transparent communication. In the absence of that, the PC community has done a great job of filling that gap for ourselves. Most guildmasters and/or officers frequent the forum and Reddit. We then send important info to our guildmates via MOTD updates (vanilla UI) and guild mail (via addons). Most of my guilds used these methods to let everybody know to check and replace their mundus boon.
What steps can console users take to help your fellow players?

How difficult is it to check your character? I for one often switch mundus stones for PvE and PvP and when I do either and forget to switch my mundus I notice the difference. How are you even arguing against that?

I also don't get, how hard it is to look at the official forum when i notice "oh there's a new patch", srsly...there must be a change, if not, there wouldn't be any patch at all. Even if there were a big popup, i'm sure some would just close it and never notice anything.
Do you console-guys get a message when a new patch is beeing installed?

But let me put it like this, if they post the update information in the actual update area, I would not be here commenting. And I believe that would be good for all parties involved. But alas! That is not the case and so here I am, wondering why a few self serving individuals believe they are the examples of what all mankind and game players in particular should strive to be.

I guess if it isn't something you aren't going to whip your wallet out for they just have time to notify you in game. Also, for those people saying that everyone should just check the "natch potes" on the forums to stay updated: Have you read these forums?!?!? Most of my guild members stay far away from the forums because of their toxic nature. The needless arguing on this thread being a wonderful example.

Also, took the liberty of fixing your typos. They're like nails on a chalk bored.
No, not every console player gets a message when a new patch is installed. Consoles have an auto-install feature. So, for someone who may never visit the forums, may never about a patch being installed.
Actually in the login screen they do post that the newest patch is live.
ShadowChopper1 wrote: »Actually, the only place I found patch notes was on the website and those aren't updated for console lime they are for pc. Much to your dismay, I was told they were found in the forum. I know, sucks for you guys because now I'm here.
Anyway, Zos also never sent invite codes to register for the forums to most of us digital download people. Many of my guild mates would also like to comment in this thread.
TV specifically asked me to post this quote "I still lolz at the guy telling console players to read pc patch notes. Does it look like I give a flying *** about anything that happens on PC? There's a reason I play on CONSOLE".
He figured since you already think I'm a *** for telling you I don't want to be like you that I wouldn't mind.
Developer Note: We have completely overhauled the Mundus Stone buff system, fixing several issues in the process. All characters with active Mundus Stone buffs will have them removed upon login. The Mundus Stone buff system now remembers the order in which the buffs were applied, and removes buffs in the correct order when using the Twice-Born Star item set.
Would be nice, to have such information in the OP.
There is really nothing like this on the login-screen: "The gamepatch 2.3.9 has been installed. Check out the patch notes section on the official forum for more information."?
Still not sure why they don't use the built in notice section on xbox when I log into the game.
(Not disagreeing with what you saying, just stating my thoughts)
Omni, I do agree that the communication isn't centralized. Too many sources to read or pull info from.
Thank you all for your input!
Where in the game does it say that the latest patch has removed our Mundas Stone?
I don't think it should be required to read the forums to learn of gameplay changes.
I think it's because they informed you about a new patch with a link to the patchnotes in the login screen. This forum is the official place for ZOS to inform you about changes/bugfixes etc they make.
Perhaps you are correct. I just think that the removal of a buff we have to aquire again should be an ingame notice. It isn't listed when I login to the xbox.
Maybe it's time to send in Omni....

Maybe it is just me, but I read the patch notes vs play the game with my head stuck in the ground.

It was in the patch notes a few weeks ago. No need to read the actual forum threads like this one but it's always a good idea to read patch notes. Avoids the need to start this thread.
Forums are for discussion I thought?
I was posting a discussion on why they do not communicate removal of character buffs on the login interface of the xbox one. Why should I avoid doing that?
If the PC patch notes are the same as the console patch notes, then why don't they just call them Patch Notes for all Updates.
I understand that the PC players on here want to defend the game or ZOS. I am not attacking them. I am asking "why" we cannot get proper communication on the Xbox login screen, especially buffs being removed from our characters.
