I will add something which might not be obvious - but gankers are not per se bad persons, who want to grief others, some are, but I think most are not. I know a lot of these type of guys in EVE online. They can even be helpful after they made the kill, if you ask them, what you've done wrong and what you could do better. It is just their preferred gameplay. To just blame all of them for being griefers is IMO just plain wrong. I like assassinations as well, so I hope for the dark brotherhood gameplay. But there might be a time, when I will do that myself in the IC - this is not because I would want to grief others, but because I want the challenge of targeting a real person and when it goes wrong, well I might ask them, what I could have done better.
I think that a lot of the ganking that goes on could easily be mitigated by ZOS by nerfing the invisibility/ cloaking abilities and buffing the detection abilities. However, my personal opinion is that the devs intentionally created this style of gameplay for themselves. Note that Rich Lambert (@ZOS_RichLambert) admitted in the 2 year retrospective he wrote in the news section that his main is a nightblade. I think that says it all ... nightblades will continue to be the most potent class to play, and the sneak/hide/gank playstyle will continue to be the style most supported by the ESO staff. I've just decided my DK main will now be my crafter and I'm going to level up my NB alts and pick one for my main. If you can't beat them, join them.
I have 6 NBs myself - because I like stealth gameplay. The whole point of this class is being unseen until you strike and then disappear again - it is a hit and run tactic and it is done from stealth. It can go wrong, of course, and then I am basically f*cked, but so what. this is the type of gameplay I like. I do not have bad intentions with it and to kill enemies in a war zone is not a bad thing but my duty when taking part in a campaign - it is intended gameplay. But I personally would not do it to the same person over and over again. Where is the challenge in this?

My point is that the DEVs have made it so that you can engage in this style of play with ease when compared to ANY other style of play. It's great that you like to play that way, but face the fact that you have the cards stacked in your favor by the DEVS. You get powerful burst damage and an escape mechanism that are both so far superior to what any other class can do that you have to screw up NOT to win as a NB, but every other class requires real skill NOT to be constantly the victim of ganks. It's clearly an unfair situation. I have no problem with the play style. It's fine that you enjoy it. But don't think that because you can run around killing other players at will that you are a more skilled player. You have the advantage of playing in the class that the DEVS have given the most powerful set of tools to.
Am sorry but your biased as hell and am tired of people blaming NB because they sucks. To say Sorcs can do OK is a lie when their the biggest Face roll class in game right now and the easiest class in the game to do well as.Also to say you don't need skill to play a NB show you never fought a Good NB or you just don't know how to play because you can't beat a NB.Accept it man and stop complaining about NB when the real problem class is SORC.I will add something which might not be obvious - but gankers are not per se bad persons, who want to grief others, some are, but I think most are not. What about those people who use those skills, but never go to IC? Nerf them as well? Punish them for others bad behavior? That wouldnt be right. We NBs already had the cloaking abilities taken down a notch. Dont take them down a even more.
Yes,if one cant beat the NB,..join em. Simple and a lot of fun.
Yes, but it makes for a boring game when one class is so clearly superior to all others. PVP is no longer fun for anyone but NB's and it sucks. Sorcs can do OK. Skilled players who are DKs and Temps can do OK, but anyone with 300 CP and a NB can gank all day long. It's just ridiculous. It's freaking easy to play a NB because you don't really need skill, the cards are stacked in your favor by the DEVS. Face the truth.

I didn't mean to get personal, but that's the way I see it. If you constantly see people talking about how NB's are OP, well maybe take heed and realize yeah, they are.

I personally will not be that kind of NB - I do hybrid builds, which are not overpowered. I am quite aware of that this will make me a lot weaker, but it is more fun to play this way. I was never fond of having the best gear or being the best by numbers, I try to balance the disadvantages of a hybrid build out by smarter gameplay. To me it will be a challenge and not a cakewalk.
Edit: and as a casual player with not much time to play, I will never ever get any near to having a lot of CP or really good gear as well. But this does not bother me, I am a role player and accept my weaknesses. And there is a non-cp campaign now, so I do not have to bother with CP or the lack of those - I can participate as well.
And you are mistaken, when you think that I have any need for feeling superior in a game. I am just playing to have some fun together with others, if I feel like it. I am happy if I am able to swim with the crowd and do not totally suck. This is all what I expect from a game, that I have some fun in it and can make some online friends - if possible friends for life time beyond the game - I have a few of those from other games.
And just to state this clearly - I would play a NB as well if the class would suck - because I like stealth gameplay, regardless if that is favorable or not.

And that's great. I prefer toe-to-toe brawling, but that's been nerfed to the point that it's simply not a viable play style, and my interest in the game has waned. I will in all likelihood end my subscription to ESO Plus because it's really not fun anymore. I may find I enjoy the stealthy type of play style, I'm willing to give it a chance. However, I do remember when NB's complained like crazy.

LOL.
Your views are so skewed. Yes a NB has cloak, but guess what? There are a dozen+ counters to cloak. The fact you try and say other classes don't compare to a NB is so unfounded. Let's also look at the fact you are lumping in stamina/magicka NB's which have different playstyles within in each. Have you fought a good stamina based class as a magicka NB? It's not easy if that player knows what they're doing.
It's just funny really, Sorcs have more maneuverability than a NB does. It really sounds like you just need to L2P.

A dozen? Really? NO. Magelight and Revealing Flare, but the cost/range/duration make them a freaking joke. They are NOT effective counters to cloak, plain and simple. Try again.

No need to try, a simple search of the forums will give you the answer... as I said before L2P and quit trying to throw your inadequacies onto one class.

OK. Look at all the complaints about NBs being OP on the forums ... but I guess we all need to L2P. You have an OP class and you think that makes you "skilled". Wake up, fool. If we wen't back to the original rules, you'd be getting facerolled constantly. Suck it.

lol and yet I play every class and I kill most NB's when I'm on my other classes. What makes a class good is a player... the player who learns the mechanics/skills and uses it to the highest degree available. The fact you believe there are only 2 counters to cloak speaks to your knowledge as a player. The fact that you spend time listening to everyone on the forums speaks to your knowledge as a player. I have no issues with specific classes, I have issues with players.
But you'll continue to QQ anyways because you refuse to L2P.
