Run around spamming Inevitable Detonation whenever you see 5+ opponents. Make sure to keep Radiant MageLight for more Crit and the Empower buff (use it before each explosion). Keep continuous attacks up. Keep Spell Power 20% buff up. Keep whatever bonus damage buffs you have available up.
I freely admit it's boring as all hell after the first 30 minutes of excitement, but watch as the AP flows and the hate tells flood your chat window.
This is the new AP farmer's dream.
It takes no skill.
There is nothing to differentiate a good player from any random person who can do the above.

It's like they're TRYING to make the game as ANNOYING and UNRESPONSIVE as possible.
Yo dawg we heard you like unresponsive games so we keep you snared 60% 24/7 and CC your ass every 5 seconds while you're being Lotus Fan spammed at 400++ ping. Please enjoy your adventures in Cyrodiil.

I also ran around with the typical proxy + tether combo. Killed 250something people in 2 hours a few days ago, dying three times. Wiped some yellow guild ball or other twice solo and took Bleaks with 3 of my guys against like 18 EP with a solid siege defense.
Then I bought some coldfire trebs and ate dinner while shooting some EP zerg from on top of the BRK lumbermill resource tower. Easiest AP of all.
Then I got bored and went back to my staff build, which I love for its inherent counterplay and outplay potential. It has tons of sustained pressure with swallow and layered dots, but it can also burst with heavy + meteor + assassin's will + agony. It doesn't use VD, takes skill, and is a challenge to play. It's I find it quite fun.
It's not like any the of soft CCs are new though. The only difference now is that it's not trivial for a couple of players in a group to spam rapids and purges. A common question lately has been, "does this take skill?" Did blowing off all soft CCs and siege with 3 abilities take skill?
Where were all the complaints about soft CCs when they were used to run over pugs and casuals every night? Or during the entirety of the FOTM DK era?
It's weird for me to see DKs and Sorcs complain about AE stuns and immobilizations. The mantra used to be "L2P noob". Well, this is what happened.

That's because they don't. Immovable counters stuns etc., not roots/snares. The speed buff from it is 30%, the speed debuff on most snares is 30-70% so you will usually be slowed anyway.
Also - if we are talking about skill-less gameplay from blowing away all the soft CCs with 2 abilities, we should also look at the reverse and how cheesy it is to just sit far away and spam bombard. And now think about what, say, a magicka DK can do in this situation when someone spams bombard on them. Roll?GG
Aye - sounds good on paper or in a 1v1 (just like wrecking blow is easy to counter in that situation) - but if you're even slightly outnumbered/pressured and that bombard spammer is up on that rock (oh wait, your chains probably won't even work to begin with, in that case) then maybe that rotation won't work so flawlessly.

If he is on a rock then he is a non-factor because he is static. I will simply ignore him, use my chain to move to targets i want to attack, and reflect anything dangerous back at him.

There's nothing to reflect - say he just spams bombard (which is very probable he'll do because I see this everyday in Cyro) - if you are not going to be annoyed by the perma-root spam while in a situation where you need mobility, then hats off to you, you win Cyro! *bows*
Last night right before I went to bed; was standing half asleep at Alessia Farm. BAM! Death Recap... Proximity Detonation, Proximity Detonation, Vicious Death, Proximity Detonation, Vicious Death.
I said to myself "Sigh, got to remember when the flag U is red to move away... You just got wrecked.. Oh! Keep is not flagged! Oh! 21k defense tick! THANK YOU random Prox Det dude! If it wasn't for you I'd have missed that 21k tick! I LOVE YOU! YES I DO! SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!"
I actually didn't mind last patch's meta.. Far less meteors...
Edit: Forgot to add, the RotW Mail from that tick was a sharpened sword of vicious death that sold for 100k over night. Really loving that guy who killed me! xD

You should apply similar logic toward your hate of Radiant Destruction: Bring purge to counter it or don't. Sorry you can't have it all.
